The problem is you are taking care of a baby like a child.... take care of a baby like a baby. My bet is also on the wheel balancing, the reason you did not feel a steering vibration maybe due to the rear wheels being totally out of balance.

Chathuranthi, are you sure they replaced 8 spark plugs ? ( should be 4 unless you have a V8 down there ) This type of issue is not only common to Staff*ords , Guys at A*W pulled the same stunt on me, on a Vitara when the engine was not pulling properly, first thing they did is change the plugs, air filter , injector cleaning and tune up. The real problem is most new mechanics are just plain stupid. The real problem was a faulty battery terminal. Anyway no real harm done as a injector cleaning and a tune up is always good for the vehicle.

The heavier the bike the better work out you would get right ? in that sense a bike with a steel frame will give you a better work out than one with a alu frame. Does anyone know where I can get a bike carrier ( at least 2 bikes) . The one that you fix to the spare tyre ? Have searched all over Colombo but no luck

That is one ad where I don't try to change the channel.....

Are you sure you paid 300 bucks ?, they charged me only Rs 200/= from Kottawa to Galinigama. Looks like there is a scan or have they increased the charges ?

After hearing all the negative comments I was quite skeptical, but after I got on the E01 it was great. Hardly noticed any significant issue wrt the narrow lanes and there was ample space for overtaking. Was driving along side a brand new BMW 7 series & a new Mec E Class. Both cars were doing easily over 200km, The guy driving the Merc was a moron, the guy was always on the inside lane. Anyway this E01 is the best thing that has happened to this country after ending the war...

The manual is a better buy, but most ordinary people selling a Honda may just quote a price based on something else which is advertised which looks similar. I have a slight doubt on the power antenna on the 1997 EK3, since its a Vi its JDM, but I can't quite remember the 1997 ( Without rear crystal lights ) having the power antenna on the side. In my view the best alloys for the EK3 are the multi spoke type ones, it shows very well on that car. You might be able to find a fitting spoiler if you do a walk around Delkanda

Don't Fix New Modified Valve Covers(Cap) To The Tyres
CARBON B4 replied to hatharasinghe's question in Mechanical problems
Same thing happened to me..... but I was aware of this issue, but assumed since I check the air regularity the darn thing would not oxidize. But had to replace the value, no big deal. Now I just stick to the rubber type ones. -
You are right , this was a very interesting and heated thread.... the 1000 bhp monster out of a 2.2 ltr block, myth or reality guess we will never know. Well to answer the same questions in a 2011 perspective, for one thing all the cars have aged 3 years ! wrt fuel consumption I get around 5.5 to 6 ( little less than what it used to be ) , 95 oct. Maintenance is not cheap, so you might find it difficult to get hold of a well maintained one, but I have seen some really good ones out there. There has not been any issues on the spares as the agents usually have most of them or can get it from outside. The initial pick up is not great, but after the second turbo comes on its a different animal, got a lot of top end power. Since the car is bulky you cant really throw it around like a Swift sport.

This means the older model is much better on fuel , also since its from Japan it should retain some second hand mkt value.

Yes saw that, kind of the same thing they put up for the Nawam Perehera. Maybe for the VVIPs. A good place to watch would be on top of the Hilton bridge...

PET*CO Lanka has a small unit there can insert in to your existing system and then you can get the higher frequencies. But since your dial will only show up to 90, they will give you a separate chart to cross refer whats indicated on your dial to whats actually playing. Its quite cheap and I had one installed but its a bit of a pain since the reception was not very clear so I scraped the whole thing and upgraded the entire unit.

Parking With Ac On For Long Time
CARBON B4 replied to hatharasinghe's question in Mechanical problems
Based on the posts by miniace & isam, I guess we can conclude that running a engine idle with the ac on for a long period 1 to 2 hours should be avoided if possible. Although there are some contradicting views regarding the alternator, the fact is the component is being used, which will obviously resulting in some wear on the part. Apart from the issue on the engine components its a waste of money. -
So the Subaru will be turbo charged, while the toyota will not ? Anyway 280 seems too small for the sti version, my guess is it will be more powerful when it comes out.
-
If you find a manual 406 fuel will not be too much of a problem, There are so many 406 on the roads so parts availability should be better than a Audi. Since you have said you dont like Jap vehicles you dont have much choices, since you cant have the cake and eat it too.
-
Well....... if you got it flaunt it, bet you got a very noisy exhaust to go with the complete package. Dont think its illegal, but you will draw a lot of attention. Most other members on this fourum may have different tastes, but I kind of think it looks cool. And its good to see something different on the roads once in a while, as long as its not overdone with hideous fibre glass parts .

Which Is The Nicest Area To Go For A Drive In Colombo??
CARBON B4 replied to MoneyMaker's topic in General Automotive
At the Kanatha Junction in Borella, when you are coming from Devi Balika side and trying to get on to Bullers road , the second traffic light is always green, and if there is no other vehicles coming from the right side you can take a vey hard bend and there is plenty of room so dont need worry too much even if the car goes a ittle sideways... But for a straight strech the best is galle road at night.. -
Which Is The Nicest Area To Go For A Drive In Colombo??

Thats a bit of a longer route, you could also take the new Japan Friendship road and go through Madiwela, or take the Nawala Road. Both are equaly fun, but shorter distance. -
Need Some Opinons On How To Get To Katharagama....
CARBON B4 replied to Shock's topic in General Automotive
Thats the beauty of marketing.... they somehow convince you that you simply cannot do without a product or service, which you never had in the first place. -
Not trying to prove a point here, this is what I found on the net. FWD cars now account for approximately 70 percent of new car offerings. Why the recent switch from RWD to FWD in new cars? Well, since most vehicles carry their engines up front, it is a simpler task to get that engine power to the driven wheels when they are both on the same end of the car. Essentially, you turn the engine sideways and connect a short driveshaft between either side of the engine and the two front wheels. Less distance and fewer parts between the engine and the driven wheels means less horsepower loss through mechanical inefficiency. Additionally, fewer parts means reduced production costs and, ultimately, a lower sticker price. One final advantage of FWD is that it puts the engine weight directly over the driven wheels which can improve traction on slippery or snow-packed roads. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_layout http://askville.amazon.com/AWD-Front-Wheel-Drive/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=2964725

I couldn't agree with you more, My first car was a Nissan Datsun manual RWD car, and I must say it was a pleasure to drive. Wrt the road issue, things have improved a lot, currently my drive from home to office is all good, not a single bad road.
