Just adding... I have used BG 44K for a long run few months ago. But I couldn't see any output. I did a full service few days ago (changed the oil filter, air filter, Petrol Filter, Plugs, Flushed the engine and add new oil) but didn't touch the Carb yet. But I can remember one guy was talking about the Jets when it was tunining in last October. Hope this black smoke is the result of it. Guys, do you know anything that we can use through the fuel tank to clean the carb?

Hi all, I saw an ad regarding a new Fuel Additive called "Tru Blu". As per the ad this product is importing from Australia and packing in Sri Lanka. They said that this product is using in Australia for more than 17 years and most of the cabs are using them. And the funny thing is they said that it can give you 30% extra milages to your vehicle by adding them. And also they said that it cleans the fuel tank and engine (both carb and efi). My concern is, why they don't advertise this on newspapers and tv commercials. I have a bit old Mitsubishi car with carb engine. It has a 1500cc engine and it does about 8-9km per lts without A/C. I'm not happy with the fuel consumption of my car and also the black smoke. I prefer to use this product to test. Anyone with experience on this product? Regards, Irosh

Lets Talk The Truth About Kia Cars (Please Share Your Real Experience)
Iroshw replied to Iroshw's question in Car Buying Information
Thank you guys for your comments/feedback and thanks for sharing them with all. Even though my Mitsubishi Lancer C62A (knows as ASP model) very old it is still powerful than most of the modern cars. I have done extra 2k miles without any service and still she is superb (I really didn't have time to service my car). But I'm not happy with the fuel consumption since it drinks a lot now and I think it is due to the extra milages I have done without the required service. Engine oil is like Tar. Even yesterday I had a long run with 5 big people (including me). And the other issue is black smoke, I really don't know what to do to fix that since I have tuned my engine few months a go and changed the air filter and plugs as well. That black smoke is a sign to prove that my car is drinking a lot of fuel. Ok, so my plan is now is to keep my buddy with me for few months. I'm not planning to go for another car. This is my 1st car but I do not want to live with it forever. But for the moment I thought to do all the required repairs and run it for few months and go for another Jap car (like CK2 or Honda EK3 or Nissan FB14) in few months. After reading all your posts I thought not to go for a Korean car. But as many said they are good cars for the bucks with a lot of facilities compared to Jap cars. But again, I'm thinking about the maintenance as well. We do not know what will happen in the future to car markets. Sometimes Korean cars will beat Japs but we never know. After few months I will decide what to do, in the meantime I will read more about Korean cars to increase my knowledge. Again, thanks guys for your great support. Cheers !!! Irosh -
People make a lot of bad comments on KIA vehicles even without touching them. I have seen some (only few) good comments on KIAs based on their real experience. I have never used a KIA car (I'm not a Korean vehicle lover at all) but considering to go for another car on these days by selling my Mitsubishi Lancer C62A (ASP 1991 model). I'm thinking about KIA RIO, Spectra and Sephia. They looks nice and fit to my budget too. But still I'm thinking about the bad comments made by people. One of my friends were talking badly about KIAs but he has never used a KIA vehicle. When I asked the reason for his comment he simply said "MANY says bad about Korean cars". But again, why Koreans make cars taking a risk if they have troubles/issues? They do it purposely to decrease their Vehicle Market? The Technology they use to make cars are not good enough? KIA is not comfortable like Japanese? Or what is the truth? Why KIA market can't beat japanese? Guys, I need your support to sort out this and clear my mind. It will help me to think whether it is ideal for me to go for a Kia or not. And, please share your experience like Fuel Consumption of Kia RIO, Spectra and Sephia, Maintenance and cost, Spare part cost and availability, whether it is worth for the money you spent, etc etc. And, please share the problems you had with your KIA and how did you overcome the issue and the cost.

Hi Sylvi, I bought this Charger yesterday. It was a house near Pannipitiya (Kalalgoda) and this guy is selling it at home (no shop). But it is a new item and he had 10 chargers. He said that he bought a lot from Hong Kong and sold during last few weeks. When I emailed this guy he said that he will deliver it to my place. But you know, I didn't want to lose my 1750 rupees . SO I said I will come and purchase it. My battery was fully dead and I tried this charger yesterday. It worked. The only issue was, as he said the LED gets Red when charging and Green when fully charged. But my charger works other way. But it is ok since it charged my battery. Then I tested it from a tester, it is 13V. I'm not sure why it is 13V instead of 12V, please advise. It is a small portable charger. And my concern is there is no Earth Wire/Pin (two pin plug). It took more than 7-8 hours to charge. But it is ok since normally what I do is, taking my battery to the nearest Battery Shop and give them to charge, and the next day picking up. So I can save my both traveling cost and charging cost also my time. Sylvi, could you pls let me know, how this affect my electricity bill ? I mean per one time charge? And Sylvi, this guy gave me 7 days warranty. I didn't say anything but I said I will try one time and if it not worked, I will return it back. He agreed. What do you think about this warranty period? I'm not sure what will happen to this item after few weeks or months . Whatever happens, I think this tiny charger is a good solution for battery charging problems. I can take it anywhere I go. As you said, it is worth for the price. ### Irosh

Hi Sylvi, It is an exide Battery (45ma) and 2 1/4 years old. There was an issue with the Alternator (overcharging) and I fixed it recently. I use my car 1-2 times per week (all other days are idle). I think the time for me to go for a new battery. But also I think it is always better to have a Charger. I purchased this charger yesterday and charged my battery last evening. It worked . My battery charged fully. But the only problem was, it says the LED is Red when charging, but in my charger it works other way (Green when charging). But it is ok. And it is really small. It is selling by a guy living in Pannipitiya (near Kalalgoda). I checked my Battery Voltage using a Tester and it shows 13V (I don't know why it shows 13V instead of 12V, pls advise). Regards, Irosh Regards, Irosh

Hi all, Do you have any idea about this Battery Charger? It says 12V 1250ma and not overcharging. My Car battery is 45ma. I was thinking about a Battery Charger since sometimes my battery is dead. http://####/en/12v-1250ma-car-battery-charger-for-sale-colombo And if you know a good place to purchase a battery charger (cheaper one) please let me know.

Thanks guys for your support. I'm planning to go for a Rio or Accent (1st priority for Accent). If you have one of those please let me know the fuel consumption and the maintenance of it. What about long drive (hill) and spare parts? I will be using it at least for 2 years. Irosh -
Need To Buy A Car For 1 Million + Good Fuel Consumption
Iroshw replied to Iroshw's topic in General Automotive
Thanks for the reply mate. I also heard that Proton vehicles are worse than Kia Rio and Accent. I also know about Presea (one of my cousins used few years ago) and it does only few Kms per liter. What about Mitsubishi Lancer CK1 (thinking about a lease as well). How many KMs does per liter? I love that car. -

Need To Buy A Car For 1 Million + Good Fuel Consumption
Iroshw replied to Iroshw's topic in General Automotive
I was thinking about EG8 and AE100. But I have few doubts, * I don't think that it will be easy for me to find a Honda EG8 or AE100 for my budget. I had a small research and both are going above 1.2-1.3m. * I'm not sure the fuel consumption of Honda EG8 since it has a heavy body and car is too long (I don't have a big space here at my home and you guys wont believe how I park my Mitsubishi C62A - ASP Model). -
Need To Buy A Car For 1 Million + Good Fuel Consumption

I prefer Sedan, my current vehicle is 17-xxxx so I would like to go beyond it . I was thinking about Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent but people say that Korean vehicles are not good and the second hand market also not good. I can go for 1.1million. -
Hi, I have a Mitsubishi Lancer C62A (ASP Model 1991 year). It has a 1500cc engine and does nearly 8-9km/ltr in city and sometimes less. I'm planning to sell this car and go for another. My budget is 1 million (or max 1.1 million) and should be very economical (since I'm always travelling). I need your help to find a good vehicle for my budget and with good fuel consumption. Please share your experience... Irosh

Hi All, I have a Mitsubishi ASP Model (C62A) 1991 year (1500CC). I did a repair (AC) in May and refilled the Gas too. Normally I'm using AC and had to use heavily during the last long weekend (went to Nuwara Eliya and the car was fully loaded with 5 guys including me ). Two days ago I have noticed that my AC is not working and found that no Gas. I was shocked since I did a repair and refill (cost me 5k) in end of May. I guess there should be a Leak (minor). Just let me know, I need to go to Kandy today and it is not that easy to drive without AC due to the rain. Is it ok if I refill the gas without checking the leak? I don't have much time to do a repair right now. Also let me know a good and cheap place to refill AC gas near Pannipitiya - Maharagama - Boralesgamuwa - Dehiwala. I went to a place near Pannipitiya and they said the cost is 3k to refill. I guess it is too expensive since I heard that some places do for 2k or less.

Hi All, Latest update. My car is at Asnu Lanka Garage (Koswatta) now. There is a great person for Carb engines. He is now cleaning it and also I asked him to tune the engine well. As per them Gear problem is not a big issue right now but they will try to adjust the Clutch. As said Vibration issue is due to Mounts. They asked me to replace them but do not have time right now since we are planning to go to Nuwara Eliya Tomorrow. Also had to replace the Brake pads (front) and Pomp (had to purchase one from Panchikawatte). I should make sure my brakes are good when driving through hills . And, Mr. Perera (from Asnu Lanka) said not to use any Fuel Addictive after cleaning the engine. I'm not sure about it since I also need to clean my fuel tank and all the lines connected to the engine (thought to use BG44K or Wurth). Any idea about what he said? Thanks guys for your support. BTW, do you know any place to buy AC Vents for my car?

Hi all, I have few issues and need your feedback to solve them. I have a Mitsubishi ASP (C62A year 1991). I did an Oil change (replaced the oil filter too) and also replaced Air filter and plugs too. Did a tuning few months ago also put AC gas 5 months ago. 1. When the car is idle there is a huge vibrate. But it is on/off basis. When I on the AC it gets doubled. But can't hear this vibration (noise) when the car is running. 2. Even the AC is off there is a light AC from AC vents. I have repaired my AC few months ago. Also the AC is very low cold during the day time. 3. When the car is switched off I can change gears normally. But when the car is running I'm getting a noise (bit tight) when changing from 4th to 3rd, 3rd to 2nd and from 2nd to 1st. But it is not happening when changing from 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th also from 5th to 4th. One guys asked me to adjust the Clutch. Guys, I'm planning to go to Nuwara Eliya on this Saturday. So just let me know whether I'm taking a risk? What are these issues and solutions? I'm living in Hokandara and need a fast solution. Regards, Irosh

Hi All, I have a Mitsubishi Lancer C62A (ASP Model 1991 year) full option car (1500cc). I bought this in last year. The engine is really powerful but the problem is fuel consumption. I did a tune-up 7 months ago (changed the air filter, plugs, etc) and also replaced my Silencer Barrels (small and big one) but still it is same. As I know this vehicle does 11-12KM / per ltr but it is doing only 7-8KM/1ltr. Also reduced the fuel from Carb Jets too. And I smell petrol from the silencer (smoke) also can see light black smoke (specially when starting). I went to few people but didn't work. I didn't do an oil change (oil is dark and thick) after purchasing the car and also can see a small leak near plugs (don't know exactly from where). Guys, I'm planning to go to Nuwara Eliya during next month and really need to solve these issues soon. I'm from Hokandara (near Malabe and Maharagama also Kottawa). Please let me know, 1. A good place to check these issues 2. From where to do a service with an oil change (including oil filter) and should be reasonable 3. A good place to repair my Carb and Radiator Irosh

Engine Tune Up - My Mitsubishi Lancer C62A (Asp 1991)
Iroshw posted a question in Mechanical problems
Hi All, I have a Mitsubishi Lancer ASP Model (C62A 1991 car 1500cc) bought few months back. As I heard this car does nearly 11-12Km/L but my one is lower than that. I need to know, 1. What can I do to get a better Fuel Consumption? 2. What is "Full Engine Tune Up" (My car has Carb Engine)? 3. Good place to do my engine tune up near Malabe, Battaramulla, Pannipitiya, Koswatte, Kaduwela? 4. What should be the normal RMP rate (with A/C and without A/C)? 5. Is silencer is affecting the car performance a lot? 6. What can I use as a Fuel Saver Liquid? 3M or better one? 7. What is the maximum fuel consumption of these kind of cars? With A/C and without A/C in colombo? 8. Also I would like to fix a spoiler to my car since this car looks like a sporty one, is there any best cheap place to do it near Malabe, Battaramulla, Kaduwela, Maharagama or Kottawa? Guys, this is my first car and need your support to fix all issues since I'm planning to run 400Kms++ in next week. Irosh -

Truth About Fuel Consumption Circuit Which Increase 20%-30%
Iroshw posted a question in Mechanical problems
Hi, I heard about a circuit which can fix to any 5Fwd cars/vans to increase the fuel Consumption extra 20-30%. See below ads, http://allinone.lk/index.php/clasifields/item/10_services/53_electronic-fuel-server- http://www.autobase.lk/directory/find/category/0/city/0/page/16/keyword/- I'm using a Mitsubishi ASP model (1991) Manual car (1500cc engine). It does only 8-9Km/1ltr within city limits. I thought to fix this equipment (only Rs 2500-2900) to my car but need an advice before making the deal. I called them to check more details and they said that it worked for 3000+ cars so far. Please advise. Regards, Irosh -
