  1. I've driven both in a same route.(there is a route i've chosen to test cars which includes stretches, hills and serious bends). As a driver,i prefer Grace over the Axio. Not as an owner. But the thing is both cars feel far away from the driver due to heavily packed electronics. For an example,if you travel at 40km/h in Grace and if you want to overtake, when you floor the accelerator it takes 2-3seconds to rev up and gain power. But when it comes alive has loads of torque and power, unlike the Axio.Handling wise Honda has a bit more steering feel while Axio hybrid is totally numb.IMO Axio is pretty dangerous on tight bends, where you need a bit of steering feedback to guess where the car is going.Grace has a bit of steering feel. But both cars don't have much body roll in coners compared to cars like Allions and Premios.I felt Grace is better.Fuel economy wise I think Axio is the best bet.Axio has a much more refined and comfier ride compared to the Grace. But both cars are almost the same, and the difference is hard to notice.Grace has lot of fancy options while Axio Hybrid got not much new options. So I think Grace wins in options and interior quality department. But the Axio's interior feels well put together,I mean a bit solid(yeah its plasticy??).Grace has extremely good legroom, but Axio has better seating positions for passengers. So it is upto you to decide.I shared my personal opinions.
  2. Mirai has an eye-watering price of $60000+.Considering for a car for four passengers and basically a sedan-prius design the price is too much.Anyway hydrogen might be the only hope for the future. So mirai might succeed.Someday in Sri Lanka 'mudalalis' will also buy them???.The only thing that bothers me is safety. If the hydro tank get a chance to break during an accident, that would be a tragic.
  3. Hey guys, To my surprise, the problem solved without any repair. Now the car accelerates brutally. Thanks for ur replies.
  4. I have no idea about the hybrid cars' market value. But anyway,a person that I know bought a Honda Insight in 2011,unregistered,imported through a friend. He had to pay about 3.5 million and the car was in pristine condition even thought 16k kms done.YOM 2009.Last December he sold the car for 3.5 million again. What made me amazed was the mileage, abt 140k kms and the interior was full of dirt due to his two children. Now he drives a Grace.Yesterday I got the chance to drive it.Probably the most balanced hybrid car I met. What makes your car sell faster is not the mileage, neither the condition,BUT OF COURSE YOUR LUCK!!! I don't know but I've seen 240 Allions manufactured in 2006 or 2007 for sale in ik**n.lk which had done well over 90k km or even over 100k km in good condition(not pristine) quotiong prices like 4.0-4.3 million. After few days the advertisement is gone. For that price,we can get a good 260 Allion.Maybe the owner had given up the idea of selling the car and that might be the reason the ad dissapeared????
  5. I've seen many brand new imported ones for sale, rebadged as G grades and quoting prices over 3.2mil.Even they had installed teak panels. The easiest ways to identify a proper G grade can be sorted out as this. -Automatic climate control + Rear Armrest + Steering Wheel with the Chrome Toyota Emblem Those 3 can be easily identified.Sometimes due to usage the chrome paint of the steering wheel emblem may had dissapeared. But the G grade's steering wheel is a bit different than others, looks a bit fatty in the middle.
  6. Yup.For daily colombo running you can't beat the Wagon R for the price. But it's the fact that it is faster than the 4a-ge I can't agree with.Has a little bit of oomph but.....I dunno.Anyway I've heard that the 4a-ge is a bit slower off the line.I've never driven one.But I've heard. Is it true??
  7. No.They didn't.If the OCV filter is bad the fuel economy should be affected. But, I'm yet to experience a bad fuel economy after the 96k kms tune up.Before that it burnt gasoline worth of Rs.2000 to travel from Colombo to Kegalle(The day I brought the car home). Also before the tune up this time,it only cost me abt Rs.700 to travel from Kegalle to Waikkala and back to Kegalle which has a total of 140km.
  8. I have driven the 2016 Wagon R Stingray J Style a lot; around colombo, colombo to kegalle, kandy to kegalle, around kegalle. So I think I had experienced every kind of road situations. So I'll sort out the pros and cons. Pros -Fuel Economy(extremely economical.does around 16kmpl in colombo in traffic.during heavy traffic may go down to 13-14.outstation 20+ can be achieved easily) -Interior space(impressive for a car of that size.lots of storage spaces.good legroom and headroom) -options(again impressive for the car of that price range.adjustable rear seats.pre collision safety etc...) -comfort is also not bad.but not good.but again for the price you pay it's good. Cons -This stands above all the pros.Acceleration???.extremely lazy engine.even the S mode doesn't make much of a difference.Below 4000rpm the car is like almost dead. There is a bit of torque below 2000rpm which helps during acceleration from a standstill, but suddenly it dissapears. To get some good acceleration you need to rev up the engine at least over 4000rpm,then it moves a bit. Also the engine is easy to rev.If you plan to use it in a hilly area forget about it.It does climb. But feels like it takes the whole day to do the climb. So be careful about your decision.
  9. Yup.I told them. They replaced the injector washers.
  10. MAF Sensor was cleaned.Plugs changed. Also the transmission oil was changed by removing the oil pan.But during the tuneup they didn't scan the car. They told me that the ecu automatically adjusts according to the values sent by the sensors.
  11. Hello Guys, This is after a long time I'm posting a new topic.Earlier I felt the car (corolla 121)lacks power when accelerating. So recently I did a tune up from To***a L**ka.They did the job correctly, but still after the tune up also I experience the lack of power.I also changed Transmission oil 3 or 4 weeks prior to the tune up and also serviced the car on the morning of the day the tuneup did.I'm puzzelled.During the tune up they replaced the petrol filter which has not been changed by the previous owner and cleaned the injectors which has not been cleaned during the last tune up.When they removed the engine cover to replace the valve cover gasket told the engine is in extremely good condition, which has now done 140k kms. After the tune up they said it is not necessary to reset the ecu, since it will automatically adjust. But what I experienced after the tune up was what I experience before. So when I returned home I reset the ecu by disconecting the negative battery wire for about 20mins.After that also no luck. What I have to experience is a bit strange. When I fully press the accelerator the engine revs but feels a bit slow and also CHANGES THE GEAR ON 4500RPM.But when I drove another car same as mine the car was totally different. On the full pedal it changed the gear just before the redline and also accelerated briskly. So I felt mine has something wrong. But when I accelerate from L the engine revs all the way up till the redline. What is the reason for this??As I had done all the running repairs at the moment I'm a bit embarrased.☹️☹️☹️☹️ Please give your opinions. Thank You
  12. Both cars share mostly the same underneath. So if u prefer the 1500cc, allion is a notably more comfier, got nice legroom in the front and back.U get adjustable rear seats, map lights, optitron meter(illumination dashboard in sri lankan terms???) and a six speaker audio system as options that corolla doesn't have.at the same time u get a little sacrifice in the acceleration and fuel economy.fuel economy might be only 1-2kmpl difference.if u want more acceleration go for the zrt240 1800cc.it also returns better fuel economy when u do outstation. As for the corolla, 1500cc got enough power for daily driving.i've been using one for over 4 years still gives me no trouble.fine car.but can't bear the front end design.if u go for a corolla,go for a facelift one. as for finding one under 100k is a bit hard for both these cars.one of my relation got hold of a one y.o.m 2001 with J plates, and had only done 67000km.the car is in pristine condition. They are hard or maybe impossible to find again.
  13. It has a volkswagen 1.6 tdi engine.one of my friends own it
  14. Okay lets say my weight is 400kg.case closed.can u please focus on the topic???
  15. I was in the primera as a passenger. Both the drivers are well talented.Anyway lets get back to the topic abt the performance increase
  16. Anyway thanks for the details abt the mechanic.I use Toyota Genuine oil.I had used the Mobil 2000 but it did not last longer as the Toyota one.
  17. SR20DE got only 140hp.SR20VE got 190hp.Primera GT got SR20VE and X-trail GT got SR20VET
  18. Hello guys, I plan to keep my corolla 121 for a couple more years as I had to buy a new house. After driving couple of cars during last few days I realized that the 1nz-fe got a decent amount of power as an economy engine.Today my friend did a drag with a SR20DE swapped Primera and the Primera can't hold up with the Axio???.The both Axio and 121 have the same engine so i think the power is ok for daily driving, but i want to boost the power up a little bit.I have no idea of turbo/supercharging as it will be costly and i may need to swap a manual tranny also for the real benifit of forced induction. Also I don't want to add those fart cannons ??? which would definietly make me look like a ricer. What are the methods which I could increase 10-20hp without breaking the bank??? Where are the places i need to go for the upgrades??? I plan to add a chip box.Would it affect realiability?? I hope the experts will share there opinions. Thank You
  19. Basic one has the climate control a/c.but i'm not much sure abt the push start.i had travelled a short distance in a basic allion as a passenger at night.no illumination dashboard (no optitron meter).but the ride felt same. imo better to stick to a middle grade and add those chrome parts and other missing options.you'll only cost under 100k.
  20. I think 121 would suit u better according to ur concerns.
  21. Wow who is the mechanic???i have to go to autow**ld kurunegala for the repairs.
  22. I had gt champiro.excessive road noise.stiff.the i had nankang nk comfort.not good but ok.still using 2 of them, since 2014 may.they have done well over 20k kms.can do another 2k or 3k.i put falken sincera for the front are they are good.road noise is reduced and tire is a bit soft.next time i'm gonna replace the other two with falkens.
  23. Mate those topics have been discussed earlier many times.Use the search option.Anyway here is my opinion. Fuel economy - Axio Acceleration - Axio Features - Both have equal features but if u go for the luxel u get more options than allion g.(allion G package got no extra options other than minor cosmetic upgrades, such as teak panels in different colours and the silver colour shell.the lowest grade got a different meter panel which is probably yellow backlit, also the door pillars are body coloured while in the higher grades they are matte black finished) Handling - both are poor.sometimes allion would be better. comfort - felt the allion to be better.most of all i has ample space but the rear seat seating position is a bit lower (but the leg space is better).but it is not a problem for most owners. those multifunction packages are installed even in the lowest grade by sri lankan owners.we can't determine whether it is a g or basic package by the multifunction.i suggest u to go for a 1800cc version if you are going for the allion because the 1500cc is not much a mover for the weight.but for the axio g there's plenty of power in the 1500cc for a daily sri lankan driver.also u should consider some better rides like the lancer ex which are more comfortable and fun to drive.civic fd 1 is a good option unless u are worried abt the fuel economy and ground clearance. but if i were u i would grab a well maintained allion 2002-2006 model which are proved to be more reliable and comfortable than the newer ones.u might need to throw some extra money for the running repairs but it will serve you without much fuzz. Good luck.
  24. Finally found it....thanks @NRX
