    Thanks bro. Vote taken on the quad lights. I actually saw the color scheme on a donar van when visiting the local parts guy. Looked very nice. Vote taken! It is indeed Arctic/Coral Blue and Sophia white. Looked good in person just like the pictures, which I was glad to see TBH. My bad… when I meant 100% back to original, I was having the exterior in mind. The interior was converted into a super exceed somewhere down the line and I wouldn’t want to miss it. Even the seats are from a super exceed which are rare and expensive. I was thinking about restoring it to this- found this in the salvage yard. It’s a nice color and I’ve made my mind up!

    Went to see the Historic Balana Fort in Kadugannawa. I’ve been thinking about someday restore it to its original glory. So I set about looking for a chassis number decoder. Also special thank you to @iRage who helped me identify and point out the correct information. The first few decoders said this was a DX-DT and it did look like it - But a few others said it was a GL. Turns out it is a GL. And it came in this blue. Which I forgot and will update soon. 6th van is what mine was. After much research this is what the van looked like when it was imported in 1993. Minus the wheels and suncap bits. Yes the lights were quad squared and later fitted with the projector lens from the facelift. I might go back to the quad lamps. So this is what I plan to do. Restore it back to 100% what it came out of Japan. What you guys think? I’m actually digging the color scheme!

    So according to a few rmv guys, modifications are ok now. And you can even get it registered. But as usual with everything in Sri Lanka, nobody can confirm nor point me to someone who can. Confused and not interested seems to be Lankan gov service. A fiber crash-bar seems ok according to cops. Maybe I’ll get it redone in fiber. Meanwhile I also have pictures saved on my phone for cops to see. Thanks for the update bro.

    My vote is for a Prado 120 TZ. Slightly bit more than 12mil but can be negotiated into that. It’s much better than the 95 series and much comfier than a truck. 1. Quieter. 2.Comfier. 3. Rides better. 4. Better sound insulation. 5.Height control for easy access/bad roads. 6.many more creature comforts. 7.cops don't bother you as much. 8. Much newer. 9. Proven reliability. 10. Lastly easy to live and sell. bonus- the cops don’t bother you that much. Also “Pestigee eka supiri machan” 😅

    Soo… The cops hate the van! Pulled over twice for the crash-bar. Managed to talk it out. funny story- popo - mahattaya japane minissu gana hithan nathi unata Lankawe api hithanawa. me- Ayo like wtf? Really?! Was also spearing BS like these are delivery vans and why You got tires so big etc etc. saying this is the P25 with the 4WD and not the base PO5 went unnoticed. Colombo and big city cops dont seem to care. The gama fellas do. They were ready to accept favors too 😉 which I said no to. Apparently RMV can include the crash-bar into the CR, but no-one has a clear answer. Money would help I’m told. Worse case I’ll take it off I guess. One cop said fiber is ok, but another said no. On a Positive note- Got these bad boys for the stereo upgrade. So this one is confusing, the chassis decoders say this is a DX DT (Pictured Above) which is highly likely as specs seem to match minus sunroof which might have been removed(traces visible) But some decoders say this is a GL/GLX. Can our JDM gurus point me to a correct decoder please? Also this is the color it came with from Japan according to the vin tag. Very fresh imo. Well Good Night AL.

    Thanks bro. I find those guys hilarious. People have a real number plate fetish. Yahoo Auctions are on my mind. But these vans have a whole lot of spares in the country, specially Kandy and Mawanella areas where I am. Prices are competitive tbh. Noted on the OG rims Steelies are a good option,but they don’t work well with smaller tires I plan on getting- (215/70R15) I’m also little inclined towards these tbh. Hello fellow Kandyan! Will sure do 😊 Well that's a coincidence because the spare wheel is the GLX wheel but fully chrome. lol I like holes can’t lie 🤪 Thanks bro. The forums are very dull indeed. Should have pursued it further.I can just picture that nerdy girl with horn rimmed glass who turns to be baad 😉 These vans were iconic back then, the yeehaw fellas seem to be into the most. Cheaper there too weirdly. Thats the thing about this van, it was meant to be kinda flashy. They like being decorated. But I also want to keep it clean as much as I can. Thanks bro.     So got the service done. Changed the Oil and Diesel filter.Air filter was fine as-is.Also changed and topped all the fluids. at the service. Brakes/clutch was in order. Came with an undercoating. Had no rust. Can feel a definite improvement in the drive from noise levels to smoothness. Even goes a-bit faster. Overall a much needed service. Also got the Leaf spring bushes changed. 300 a piece and 300 per side labor. Kinda hilarious how cheap these vehicles are to repair. Starter motor needs attention, so does the fuel pump top bit. Also a Diesel tank and line cleanup was recommended. very happy purchase so far.All issues were disclosed and discounted at sale.Had no horror stories lurking, owner was honest (rare in Lanka) which was a blessing. yup, these faded lights will be replaced. Looking like a wow 😋 Also few neighbors think I’m broke now, cos 54- Aiyo some Lankans.. still in the gutter! Next Up is tires and wheels. The 255s installed are waay too big and cumbersome. They will be replaced with 215(original spec) All Terrain tires. I would like to keep this close to stock with a few twists. Any help with the Alloy choices guys? Factory spec wheel. Obviously this one needs buffing. Good wheel but kinda common. how it looks on! Now this is what I’m inclined towards. Off a Pajero, so still Mitsubishi. Not as common on p25’s. how it looks. The blue stripe wont be added on mine. which one you guys prefer?

    Thanks for the reply bro. I read most of your comments and threads about the p25 before purchase. Very Helpful indeed. You seem to have been the only member with a p25 in AL. Thats a nice example you had. Shame you guys moved it on. Yup this design was from 1986 onwards. This has the 4d56T engine. Very reliable but bit noisy as I’m told. Pulls decent for it’s age. Will take heed of your suggestions, thanks alot! Thanks 😊 Will update when possible!

    GL mirrors-17.5K Body beading- under 25K Rims-45K to 75K Tires - 65k Dunlop AT Japan Horn Genuine Jap Yellow fogs Paint touchup Bull bar paint Door cards- Head unit(Android) - 26.5K Speakers-15K Carpeting Coil carpet Tint Oil and filter change Air and diesel filter change Diff oil “Dunu” bush - 3K Ball joints Gear stick bushes Clutch adjustment Door pins and razors Rattle fix (seats and windows) Stronger Reverse light (cant see jack) Also some sound deadening would help. Reliable but loud engines for sure! Here’s what needs replacing and few mods. Will be keeping it as is for few years with minimal mods and such. If I do keep it for more than 10 Years, I will do a classy factory fresh restore on it. I guess time will tell. These have jumped in price like @Gummybr mentioned, thanks to a monk and a few guys who are heavy on Social Media. The more desirable higher specs and the english numbers go for a lot of money. The mintest examples ask anywhere from 6.5 to 9 Mil. Too much imo. Attached few pics taken soon after purchase. Any advices and tips are appreciated.

    Thanks bro! This has the fancy seats but no cool box, can be fixed for not too much money. Your uncle must have had the star wagon, very rare and quite pricey. Although Lankans prefer the non sunroof versions, because most leak and are sealed shut by now. Seems you have some fun relatives 😁 Thanks bro. Pretty much a Palathsaba Pajero according to the FB pages. These were non intercooler, only the Pajero got them. It’s usually the big bars extending sideways that have cop issues. So far so good.     So I’ve done it again… Remember them reliable shitbox needed threads looking for every vans and shiiz? Well those won’t be necessary anymore. This is my idea of a daily as it turns out! It’s a 1988 Mitsubishi Delica (L300) P25V 4x4 4d56 Turbo A giant “bull bar” Ice cold D/AC 3WL and Bike threatening height and face. Ideal daily for Kandy. Pictures don’t seem to be uploading. Will write longer in the morning. Show some love jdm peops 😊

      @fiat fan one thing that p**** me off with most of Sri Lankan car owners are the dumb "modifications" they do thinking they are actually upgrading the car. I am pretty sure the guy would have spent some decent amount of money withthe whole notion of upgrading to leather seats.

      LOL...I think young people consider it quite old fashioned and not worthy if it doesn't have a FB group and a lit IG thingy... Take a look at the Micro Panda group. The Panda is the best of its class because the FB group is so active with ela cars :)

      Live and let live I suppose....I am okay with them as long as they don't spread stupidity.

    🥹 If you can find a 406 Executive Diesel in good condition, go right ahead and buy it. Or else someone else will. They sell like hot cakes. Owners rarely sell, but when they do sell its gone fast Saw a K number example with beige interior go for 3.3 recently. If you cant find a diesel, buy a mint petrol. About 2.9 m for a good one. Please buy an Executive trim when going for a 406. Your Mother will really appreciate the heated seats and the back support etc etc. Beige interior and K numbers demand a small premium. The beige interior does look really good NGL. @AVANTE can show you some good technicians and the costs related to owning one. Or you can read my blog.

    They are really nice cars. The 2015 3008 and the 508 really is above the 06/07 series.Electronics are the main let down tbh. The 2.0 Diesel version is actually very solid. Less issues overall compared to the petrol by a long shot. Owners hang on to them though. Very reliable and efficient on fuel. The 1.6THP is troublesome, but the drive makes up for it. That creamy torque really makes it a blast. Just drove from Kalutara to Kandy,such a pleasure. Ate the hills up no problem. Key is to getting a rectified 1.6THP Also it did 15kmpl on the freeway. 100kmph smooth driving. Your advice and input on Pugs are very much appreciated. After all you were the resident Peugeot guru on AL!!!

    Another price update (508 1.6thp) Engine bottom mounts-35,000 New solenoids and misc on starter motor-18,000. New motor is 100k plus. A/C Blower unit- 50k as told. Will update. Cooling fan- 105k. Got me a mint recon from dubai for 45k. Mine is going through a full mechanical restoration due to being parked for months on end and a rat attack. Almost two months now. So far runs like a dream, Electronics are being looked into atm. Please use a covered garage and never let it sit on rain when possible. Also try to drive these cars as much as possible. Mine drove < 5000kms in 2022 and 800kms in 2023, that did not end well. The more you drive the less it actually goes wrong. Guy I know has a 3008 with 25k thats a real leda goda, another fella with a 100k plus 3008 runs like a biatch. Some parts mentioned were replaced for preventive maintenance.

    Agreed not bad at all. The agents are absolute trash. I remember reading that thread of you test driving one. Nice cars but can be finicky if neglected.

    It was from N.I in panchi. Labor was 15k for all (guy I know who works at the dealer) I don’t even look at crapmart after they ruined my paint and doors.

      i Would buy the Every Van.. Good Grocery goer and hauler. watchout for the Rubbery bits.. since those Sale ayyas haven't have a clue regarding them.. Corrosion usually starts from Door bottom. Im in the lookout for a shit box as well.. but thought of settling down for a Kelisa and thought of performing a bit of elbow greasing to fix it properly. House constructions has ruined my finances to the bottom 😒

      So the prices have seem to shot up again this week because the unregs are up by 1mil and the beaters are up by 0.5 mil.

      Spotted a 57- Hiace LH102 thats been converted to a 3L engine and full super custom conversion. Has some issues. So looks like I’m a Hiace convert now. Welp

      On the unreg cars - almost all that are there in sales  are Kei's - and the slightly non-mainstream ones. Nissan Dayz's, Honda NWGns, Daihatsu Move's tantos and whatnot.

    Yuuuup Only 2 in SL. This was black on tan. It’s got the full EK3 treatment including fake red pleather seat covers.
