  1. Carina and Premio same engine & all mechanical specs except for minor body / cosmetics. In deed a Premio is also a good car or equivalent to the carina. I have had both, same fuel consumption as mentioned above, but the Premio for the last 6 yrs, these are beautiful machines. Will recomend the carina / premio to anyone that suits a such a vehicle
  2. Great stuff, thanks for sharing. Yep Merc is Mercury. Would have love to see more Euro / Conti's
  3. I think Starlet is No 1 option. Re: Cube - Around 2002/03 called back most of the cars in Japan due to some issue, I can't remember exactly, I am sure others will add on this.
  4. Try At*o at Stanely Tillekeratna Rd, Close to Jubilee Post. Guys are good and will not rip you off.
  5. TC is a small premium, it may be worth for the time being as still we do not know how one could interpret as Terrorism even though LTTE big guys are no more. There could be other Terrorist groups or activities. Don't forget 89 era,,
  6. Generally C***co quotes low but teh Invoice comes more, so you got to ask all the charges in advance, guys quote sometimes omitting RCC or something really useful and then they say they will add it, also they love to add covers that were not requested, this is my experience. Any way Ce***co guys are bit crazy, they don't know what they are doing. Well I don;t know whether it was only that particular branch but that's the impression I got. Where as j****ti were more organized and quite clear the way they handled.
  7. All Insurance companies are good until you have a claim I think. All depends on many factors like nature of the accident, whether the Ins co thinks there is some kind of foul play, whether there were any lapses on your side etc etc.. If all factors are in your favour all companies will give a decent service.
  8. Or even more, now they have a habit of writing to the previous owner and giving him some 14 days before the transfer, may be so that the new owners will go and expedite and give an ex gratia... or it can be a genuine effort to lessen any rackets.. Last time it took me about 3 months..
  9. Depends on the Make & Model. Whats the car bro.
  10. If it's an original alloy wheel, I mean came with the car you will be provided with one. If so you will have to buy one even. If it's a after market alloy, well then you will have to hunt for one may get one turned out.

  13. I too needed some covers and went to Naw**a Cushi*** Wor*** last month. I wanted a one outdoor cover and one Indoor. They said teh indoor cover no problem and got one, but they do not have any thing for teh outdoor, they can not give a guarantee as many customers who hv used 100% out door have come back and bought covers again as the life span is anything about 2 to 6 months the max. So they did n't recomend and I am searching as well. I am planning to check in UAE & Singapore as they got similar or worst climate conditions than SL as the European covers may not serve the purpose too much.
  14. Unless you go through the back door with a RMV boy.
  15. First check from where the water leak is, it may be even a water jacket, if so you could always use temporary measures or just replace the water the water jacket
  16. Hi, I got teh same model CT210 as our home taxi, we replaced with a local "Rad****r Hou**" I think cost was about Rs 11,000 about an year ago and still works very well, after all the replacement is a copper one. I am not convinced of any of these repir stuff as they are good to stop leaks other than the areas you got the problem. Also, the recon ones can be in the range of Rs 15 to 23 ,ooo/- still you wouldn't know of the condition and for how long that would last too. The only issue is if you want to sell it specially, and when you open the bonnet the radiator doesn't look as neat as the original one. But it serves the purpose and will last for a very long time.
  17. Why don't you first try adjusting. Like everything else , cables and links too get little loosen up after some time, a small adjustment will always help to sort this out. Try that fist befor eyou embark anything major on teh GB. There is also another very good AUTO / expert on High Level Rd, Panninpitya, close to teh Munchi factory on teh left hand side, just one block behind from the main road. Nam e I can't remember but its somethink like Jayasiri. Very busy & a quite a good place.

Mr. Admin... Some newbie has posted a total different topic with Thai letters??? For your attention pls...
  21. Hey a good one. Most of these works well & True, as for me I took a break from drinking about an year ago so right now under control. The reason behind this many cops around is actually the government is using Police as an Income generating mode for the government. Department of Police is one of the highest contributors to the government after Obvious departments. But it goes unnoticed as it appears under Ministry of Justice or Postal - as the fines are collected by them. There are 400 + courts imaging what they collect each day as fines for various things. Also, as the fines are high the cops are also in better demand than few bucks in good old days. So, pls take appropriate steps and happy driving to all.

  24. Show it back to the agents, show it to the Manager Mr Lal Ganegoda, he has good sense in figuring out and advising and will not cost you arm & a leg.
  25. How often have you changed the ATF, if the oil change is over due, first you can try by giving a full ATF change, Recommend agents for that, they do a good job. Is the oil level OK too.
