  1. That's the Silver Camaro owners g/f's car. That's the RAM-AIR hood that came with these cars when you ordered the WS6 performance package. I'd like to get that upgrade soon but the OEM hoods are going for some crazy prices 'cos they have the best fit/finish and the aftermarket hoods are hit and miss sometimes; you get a good one every now and then but most require reworking to fit perfectly. Also, those are the wheels that I had on mine when I had my Camaro, he bought those from me and the g/f stole them and painted them gold, so he had to buy another set for himself ... lol
  2. find yourself, or make, a cabinet and get the bead and a blasting gun and do it! I'm sure a sheet metal shop in SL will make it for you for pretty cheap (look for plans on the web). Although you will need compressed air, so may not be the best unless you have a shop air compressor at home. I have the gun but since I don't have a cabinet, and I'm using crushed walnut shells, it gets really messy in the garage 'cos there's stuff flying everywhere and I have to wear a thick sweater 'cos it hurts when you get hit by flying walnut shell!!! ha ha
  3. Here's the pics of the 4 cars from our group who ended up staying later and chilling out... (mines the white one in the middle) My buddy Shawn's car on the road (pic taken from inside mine)
  4. It's a weird event, but we basically met up with like 30 other clubs/forums and drove to Philladelphia (about 2-3hrs) to eat cheesesteaks ... I think final turnout was about 320cars but would've been much bigger had it not rained. These are some of the pics my buddy took...
  5. HBD mang!
  6. thank god the new one looks good/sexy! The current generation looks nice in SRT trim but looks so plain and ugly in a base model, I wouldn't walk near it!!!
  7. crazy long read, but very interesting.
  8. Unfortunately, we think the insurance company is gonna write it off. He slid in the rain and was sideways across the road, then t-boned by another car and then went spinning into the guardrail in the middle nose first, then spun around again (and this was the time he wasn't sure what the hell was happening) and he thinks he hit another truck (who left the scene, crazy!) and hit the guardrail again on the shoulder of the road. I'm glad he's okay. Although it looks okay, the frame's bent up/etc. If it's totalled, we may buy it back 'cos the engine/trans is good and his sister and her husband are gonna transplant the V8 into their Mazda Miata that they take autocrossing/roadracing ... lol ... and I want the interior 'cos it's rare BLACK!!! (mines Grey)
  9. thank god it wasn't me .. lol ... although my buddy did just wreck his one ... it was a rare color (Sunset Orange Metallic) and had low miles and was mint!
  10. Well I started her up and drove out of the garage yesterday and it was so nice hearing it after 5 months of just sitting there. However, the intake (pics above) that was painted didn't hold the paint well so I stripped all the paint off and now its plain gray. Does the job but doesn't look that pretty. Will be getting her tuned sometime soon so I can be ready for a cruise to Pennsylvania next weekend ...
  11. nice! prob not the real one but a road going version of it to commemorate the real one. Only a Porsche can get away with such a color scheme though... lol
  12. damn man, Camera technology is becoming as bad as computer tech. Bad as in, what's new today is old tomorrow ... bastards making me spend!!! lol
  13. - shift light using a tach reference - A/C, heater controls ... if you like to play with solenoids - g-force meter - tire pressure monitoring system okay, I think I went a bit far 'cos you need external sending units and modules for all those .. lol
  14. nice collection man!
  15. I know if you look in the right places, you can find software packages already designed to be used with the liliput screen/etc. and already have the outputs/etc. from a relay box/etc. for your A/C controls, amp outputs for music, etc. its been a while since I looked into it, but I know for a fact that there's preassembled kits you can get for about $400-500 with all the basic features you need.
  16. wow, that easy huh? Wonder what the manual instructions say ... 1. split car in half ... lol
  17. Just remembered this bit... I once worked on like a 60s or 70's Lotus 7 ... what the hell does this have to do with carputers? Well, the owner swapped in a LS1/6-speed setup and car a carputer. He cut a hole in the middle of the dash for the screen and all the gauges and every gauge was displayed on the screen in real time. It was pretty neat 'cos there were no conventional gauges in the car whatsoever. What about the car? Well with the upgrades we put in it, it was pushing ~ 430HP at the wheels and with that power and torque of the V8, it was just STUPID!!! The car was just too light and you could light up the wheels in 4th gear at almost any speed!!! ... just the way I like it ... ha ha
  18. I know this isn't related to a trans but it's part of the build ... painted my intake manifold!!! So I wanted to do something different (well, maybe I don't go out enough, so different to me ... lol) so I decided to paint the intake white to match the car. Then I took out the tiny little paint brush and model paint kit I had left over, from a small project that I didn't complete in the past, and got to work ... I'm still trying to touch up the runs/etc. so I wouldn't say it's complete ... what ya'll think? Starting off... Laying the Silver down first... Then getting pissed off 'cos my shaky hands messed up and got red all over... All Cleaned up and ready to go...
  19. I'd love to have a bunch of supercars but they'd get old as soon as the next one comes out. So I picked my favorites and iconic cars of my lifetime according to me. Well those and a couple stupid ones to throw in to keep things interesting... '87 Buick GNX - Fastest production Sedan at the time and is still pretty damn fast '69 Chevrolet Camaro - most collectible year and best looking 1st gen '92 Ferrari 512 TR (Testarossa) '85 Lamborghini Countach 5000QV - pure sex! '09 (?) Lamborghini Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster '95 McLaren F1 LM - just an absolutely incredible machine '06 Hummer H1 Alpha - as badass as badass trucks get Maybach Exelero - yeah it was only a concept, but if Darth Vader had a car, it would be this!!! Maybach 62 Landaulet - hey, I need to dress up and be driven around every now and then, F that, the driver can sit in the back '09 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 - Fastest Corvette ever! and fastest production car around the Nurburgring (well until the Viper ACR took it down, but that's not valid in my book 'cos that's a stripped down race car for the street).
  20. I thought of doing it 'cos I can run my diagnostic software as well as tuning software/etc. on it and flash the PCM right from their, but the initial investment is not pretty. It's got its advantages but there's a lot of fooling around to get it working right.
  21. DUDES ... I got my old account working again. Only difference is the spaces between the words in my name ... although my post count is back down to like "1" and I'm considered a newbie now, my member number is intact .. heee heee. Can admin combine the two but still keep my old member number?
  22. Ding .. old Account
