I've heard and read that, Veteran Journalist Mr. D.F. Kariyakarawana has bought a car in UK and drove it to Colombo. He also mentioned dat he was late and had to park da car in India till the monsoon is ova. Coz they stop da ferry service for abt 3 months coz of the Rains. He has parked da car in Auto Mobile Association (india) office and lata went back and drove it to Colombo Thru A9 route. Interesting. Problem is with the issues among countrys, How practical it is to cross da borders.

Guys, I've only heard about this but never seen or tried. Is it possible to replace the dead cells of a battery? How is this Done? how effective is this? And ne places that do this? Thanks and Cheers

Man, Love this vehicle coz I learned how to drive in one of these. Dad use to have a Fiat Mirafiori 131(mirafirori something). Loved driving this beast. I was too short to look over da S.wheel so I used to look through it. lol. Brings back memories.

Seems like it all boils down to the point of choice. Whether it’s replacing or Trans plant it depends on your (in that case ur mechanic’s) knowledge and experience. If you make a mistake or a wrong choice U mite end up with a worse situation than what you were in. Ripper, I'm all up for replacing than the originality. But I've heard comments about retaining the originality that it’s the best way to keep ya machine running smoothly. As you said if there are no other options, I think transplant is the solution. It mite also work better than the original. Jaga, I’ve heard abt this dude and I have not visited this person yet. Just trying to gather some bits and pieces so dat I have a knowledge of wat I'm walking in to. I must give this place a shot. Don. I do agree with you on most of the points as in, Brand new shocks and brakes. And we see advertisements saying that they have all the equipment and expertise to do the repairs. But my prob is not the brakes or shokcs, the once which you cannot buy brand-new. I mean dats the first reason you go to panchikawatta in search of these parts rite? Wat do u think?

This just came to my mind when I was looking for a carb. Now guys in Panchikawatta. u get da old stuff. Say U wanna get a carb, There's no gurantee that it will be a better 1 than wat ya havong rite. For old stuff li9ke my Lancer box, the parts they have in there are already old. So isnt it better to repair wat you have rahter than replacing it. Just an idea. Expert please do comment

just out of curiousity guys. How much will a brand new LR 110 TD5 (if dats correct. I'm reffring to the long wheel 110 lol) will cost? Final price tag here in SL after taxation and all dat crap.

Man I learnt Driving in a way bigger car bigger than a average japanese car. Fiat Mirafirori 131. Beleive me it was confortable like a Merc. i could not look over the steering. I was looking through it. The driving posiotion was so comfortable I was able to drive it even on the main road looking through the steering wheel. I must have been 9- or 10. Dose were da days.

I think I'll stick with original and original specs as it would be da best for da car and my pocket too.(lol) anyway guys wat do you suggest abt the repairs i should do for the engine. Coz I don feel the smoothness of smooth engine. Guess it needs some repaaires here and there and good to go. I drsly don want a engine replacement or power steering. As I mentiond wat I was thinking is if replacing the engine Y not with a power steering. Tnx again for the advise. Guys please let me know wat would be the touches i should do for the engeine for a smother drive.

Is it beta to go for an overhaul? Isn’t it more expensive and troublesome? As for power steering I have no prob with wat it has now. What I was thinking was if replacing the engine Y not with an engine with power steering. Please give ya tots on this.

Hi guys, I have a Misubishi Lancer ( Box Model) YOM 1980. I'm thinking of replacing the engine with power steering. What do guys suggest? What's the engine that I can go for? What else should I replace? Where do you think the best to find this? And the rough cost. I immidiatly wanna replace the Carburetor for the existing engine. As u said U cant trust their as*es as they just try to get da money. yeah now I gt a lil picture how it shud be done. Neway I wan't jump into converting. i think I shud look for good garage.
