  1. FD3 is the hybrid version. Non hybrid is either FD1 (1800cc) or FD4 (1600cc). FD3 has been discussed many times on this forum i.e. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/16461-honda-civic-hybrid-fd3/
  2. In case you actually do get recommended a battery replacement by a mechanic, check this before going through with it just in case : http://imgur.com/gallery/j8Bcp/
  3. Same with me. I opted for the regular S6 instead of Edge because I didnt like the grip on the Edge. With regular S6 battery life never really has been a problem for me. It lasts through the day with data or wifi always on and connected to car bluetooth when im on the move. And yes the fast charger pretty much charges the phone 0-100% in about 1 hr and 15 mins. I got a branded Auki car charger as well for it from ebay (cost about Rs. 3000) and that too has fast charging enabled. Been using it for about 4 months with all the apps installed and so far hasn't been any lag on it. I like the lighter version of TouchWiz they shipped with this phone instead of the bloatware that was on previous Galaxy S models.
  4. Traffic won't be so much of a problem and stressful if we can get rid of the lane cutters, sneakers and other general morons who are full of themselves. Unfortunately parties responsible for this including the police are very lax on rogue drivers inside city limits.
  5. Before 6.30 am Or after 9.30am. Sometimes traffic eases by 9.15. Sometimes it remains till around 9.45. It varies from day to day. +1 and they also have the web interface https://road.lk/traffic/
  6. If reason for buying a second car for 5 million is purely due to the RX-8 fuel consumption, arent you better off pumping fuel into the RX-8 from that 5 million anyway? You can pump more than 35000 litres of Octane 95 with that money. Just a thought.
  7. lol what kind of Civic? Was it like an FD1? Im curious to know if they ever went through with it or was just bluffing.
  8. Second phase of Sri Lanka's Outer Circular Highway to be opened on September 17 Sat, Sep 12, 2015, 11:02 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka. Sept 12, Colombo: The second stage of the Outer Circular Highway (OCH) from Kaduwela to Kadawatha will be vested with the public on the 17th of this month under the patronage of Highways Minister Lakshman Kiriella. Project Direct S S H Abeywickrama told the national radio that the vehicles will be able to ply on the highway segment from 6.00 AM of Friday (18th). Construction of the second phase of the OCH, the 9-kilometer segment from Kaduwela to Kadawatha began in 2012. The 4-lane expressway with the total length of 14.36 kilometers cost Rs. 44.88 billion rupees. The Japan International Cooperation Agency has funded the project. The cost included construction of five overpass bridges and the 250 meters long 6-lane bridge over the Kelani River. The 4-lane expressway is to have 3 toll office buildings and 6 toll plazas. The OCH is expected to provide an effective bypass for North-South bound traffic and to reduce through-traffic in the city of Colombo and minimize traffic congestion. The OCH will connect the Southern Expressway with the Central/Northern Expressway. Source : http://www.colombopage.com/archive_15B/Sep12_1442035979CH.php
  9. How detailed are the maps in this and how frequently updated are they against Google Maps? Ever since Google introduced navigation in SL I just use the phone with a car charger to get around and it works well in Colombo. Also are roads and Maps in rural areas marked properly? This is one con on Google Maps. How are updates delivered either way? Does it have a 3G SIM slot or do we have to download and copy the map files?
  10. Virtua Cop 3 to be exact. EDIT: Actually i was wrong. Seems to be 1 or 2. I remember finishing this.
  11. If you are looking for a radio, one thing you need to check before buying is that if the component actually has a FM tuner. Because what they mostly mean by 87.5-108mhz range is that it can transmit the contents of a USB pen, phone etc in one of those frequencies. Most of these do not come with a tuner that can tune into 87-5-108 and re-broadcast that to your existing player, if thats what you are looking for.
  12. He appears to be caught later https://www.facebook.com/srilankantrafficviolations/posts/413634768826417
  13. Manufacturer documents do not consider the climate and road conditions of Sri Lanka. Either way, it's up to you to either do it or not do it. I'm particular when it comes to vehicle care and I sometimes replace parts to repair the smallest faults in my vehicle which 99% of others would not even notice. I merely suggested what I do and my experience - it doesn't mean you have to do the same. If you are willing to change at 100k and if it goes well, good for you buddy. As for your second question about not changing at 10k intervals, that would be ridiculous wouldn't it?
  14. @Gayanath If your vehicle has a CVT gearbox there are only few rules to follow if you want it to last a while - - Dont cheap out on oil changes - Use the manufacturer recommended oil Oil changes at 80k and 100k intervals seem too long and if I were you, hell i'd do it at least every 30k just to be sure. CVT box isnt something you should be messing with. Thank god you are not driving a car with Honda CVT with that mindset. I change oil every 15k-20k km on that.
  15. The proper, scientific way would be to get it tested by agents. You can check for the most common issue with this CVT box (aka the "Honda Shudder') by having the car idle on a road (preferably on an uphill climb), and then floor the accelerator at once. Basically check if it vibrates or shudders when accelerating from a dead stop.
  16. From what I heard Elections Commissioner had issued an order to invite MR to the opening ceremony if it's opened before the election (since he started the project and doing so without him gives the govt unfair advantage or whatever). I guess this could be a reason.
  17. 1. Never tried it so I have no idea. But doesnt the eco mode give you less power and hills are a place you need more power? Why get into a drag climbing hills even if it saves fuel anyway? 2. VSA is there for a completely different purpose. It's there to prevent oversteer and understeer in certain scenarios and improves car handling. It is never recommended to be turned off except in situations such as the car is stuck in mud and the wheels are skidding. Do not kill yourself by turning this off to save fuel. Read the service manual on VSA for more info. 3. Since during cruise control the RPM remains a constant more or less, you might get higher fuel efficiency.
  18. GP1, Shuttle GP2, Freed GP3, GP4, CR-Z and Civic Hybrid all come with a CVT box.
  19. Fuel consumption and resale value poor compared to what? Resale value of any hybrid would be shit either way I guess.
  20. What is the final Diagnosis Stafford Motors gave you after you changed the EGR valve and it didnt solve the issue? Did they connect the Honda Diagnostic System to the car and did they say if there were any error codes logged? Did you mention the RPM variation issue to Stafford?
  21. Where are you from? I would suggest you not take the car to random mechanics and replace parts such as fuel pump on a trial and error basis. If you are from around Kandy I can give you a contact of the place I take my car to for diagnosis. According to this, the issue ONLY appears when you are accelerating from 0? It does not come during idle, it does not come when you hold the break but does it come at any point while you are cruising and not accelerating from a stop? Also, when you changed the CVT oil, how many liters of it did you use? And do you know the mileage and type of oil used when last time CVT oil was changed before you changed it?
  22. You mean the CVT oil right? Which brand of oil did you put?
  23. If you are worried about the broken roads then you should be looking at Crv, Xtrail, Hillux in your list. But these dont do good in fuel as the cars that you have listed. Another option is the Vezel, but different people have different opinions about the Vezel.
  24. How many miles per month will you generally run on this vehicle? City driving or long distance? Do you plan to use it in Colombo rush hour traffic? And if you can extend your budget to 5.5 million, you can consider Mazda Axela hybrid as an option too.
  25. If I were you mate, I'd buy the 1300cc one. That power which comes with it plays quite a significant role when it comes to the driving experience, and you wont ever have to live in doubt about hilly roads and pulling power with max cargo cap.
