  1. I loved the American Revolution themed ad this was featured in but will let someone else take a shot at it. How come the easy ones are up the day I have some work ?
  2. I'm sorry for being a 20 year old Uni student with a part time job okay ?
  3. Nice, had the opportunity to buy one for around 1.8 mil in Sri Lanka but it had a V8 and I fear I don't have enough money to maintain it so I went with a Starlet ;3. Someone else take my chance please quite busy.
  4. S190 Lexus GS! Looks like it might be close to the GS400ish range with those chrome lights but not sure about that
  5. Was the replacement for the CX-7 as well as the Tribute
  6. @sathyajithj99 Never heard of a Hyundai Terracan or seen one before in my life until I saw your post asking what it might be. That is until today when I was getting my Radiator fixed at Liyanage Radiators when I spotted one. Apologies for my immature car spotting photography
  7. I have an EP91 Starlet and the tray in the back (above the boot) which is hanging by two ropes like things is squeaking. The squeaking sound I don't mind and it isn't big enough to show my mechanic. Any DIY solutions? I've seen other cars have this tray as well so it might not be an exclusive problem to starlets. Attached a stock image of the tray in question.
  8. Thanks! @Twin Turbo Already changed the engine oil, she's running Toyota Synthetic 15W45 now and put in a Toyota filter as well, must change the transmission fluid. What do you mean by a timing kit? If what you mean is a timing belt + bearings I have changed that already, water pump looks new so it must have been changed at 100k kms. MC
  9. I like the V10 M5 a bit better ?
  10. Thanks! She was a North Western gal, now she's a Western Province gal ? I'm assuming there are more, just outside of Colombo perhaps.
  11. Location: Hapuarachchi Motors, Ruwan's Garage (Old Nawala Road, put into the road across from the Audi Dealership and take a right or use Google Maps) Fixed: Engine Mounts + Timing Belt on a '98 Starlet Price: 7995 for Timing Belt (7000 after discount when Ruwan got it down to his garage from T0y0ta Lanka). 18,500 for 3 Engine Mounts (15,500 after discounts delivered to Ruwan's place by AUT0KITZ) and 5,500 for two "Razers"/ Bearings for the Timing Belt (again delivered to his place from another place I cannot quite remember) + 2,500 Labor for all these things. Time Consumed: Morning to Mid-Afternoon Opinion: Ruwan is a very humble and great mechanic, he does everything by himself so prepare to spend some time. Many people show up throughout the day and I've observed him throughout his day and he refuses to take money on some things also and says stuff like "Apo oka podi deyak ne, Salli ganna puluwanda?" when changing spark plugs and etc. Since I was there since morning was offered a tea. Saw him refuse to put on a fake part because "I'll just be wasting my time fixing because it'll break in a few months". I felt like 2,500 was a steal to replace all three engine mounts and a timing belt. He also has some other guys who show up for certain other specialist stuff (There's a dedicated "electric guy", "AC guy" etc.) but bulk work is done by him. If you show up unannounced he'll drop whatever he's doing and check your car immediately (Good for a quick diagnosis on something).
  12. Thanks!
  13. Ford Kuga?
  14. @iRage That's actually some wonderful insight, I realized that putting a Glanza kit on it is the equivalent of ricing good 'ol Lancers to sound/look like Evos. (often failing at both) I guess I will try to make it look like it rolled off the factory (It did roll off as the exact specification as is). It will be a bit of challenge to find up the factory options but it seems like a worthy challenge to endure Thanks!
  15. Thanks! Been getting a lot of peer pressure to slap a Glanza kit on it I'm conflicted. Maybe a nicer set of wheels to start with *shrugs*
  16. Thanks!
  17. haha thanks! Still thinking of a way to make her unique, but first I'm thinking of removing all her current flaws (seatbelt lights that are always on, super slow windows) and then going to think of building it up!
  18. Recently changed all three engine mounts and the timing belt.
  19. Hi Guys! So you've probably seen me ask questions (relatively dumb ones tbh) regarding a Starlet EP91 and I decided to post some pictures here! Hopefully looking to make this a thread during its tenure with me. She's a Reflect F Limited model with a three speed auto and comes in the Toyota paint code "Super White" (Checked the serial number). English numbers and has done close to a 195k kms.
  20. In cars there are adjustable ones as well but I think they're called coilovers and cost signficantly more than a regular set of shocks.
  21. Weirdly enough I changed all three mounts and the mounts that were in the car were in a horrid state (inner rubber torn to shreds, the metal bearing part in the middle permanently lopsided etc. When I bought the car a month ago there was zero vibration but a couple of days ago my steering wheel would literally twerk in traffic stops. Looks like I fell for a Sri Lankan classic Atawala Deepang. Weirdly enough after I fixed the mounts it got significantly better, I know that logically it seems impossible that the ride quality will improve if I upgrade my engine mounts and not the shocks. Regardless I will fix the suspension as well although I may put it up until next month pay day I only recently graduated from highschool and I'm doing a part time job. Blew my monthly salary on the three engine mounts and timing belt rip.
  22. Watch this video if you want to know why Nissan is as is in status quo.
  23. Okay so I went to a Garage today. Turns out I have far pressing issues as well (All three of my motor mounts are shot rip, no wonder my steering wheel is twerking like a madman at traffic stops) @iRage so the mechanic told me the shocks are just worn out and its that the "gas that has gone" told me to use it for a bit more and then swap out for a newer set. @Magnum My tires are GOODRIDE RADIAL RP88 175/65R14 82H M+S on all four corners @kush I'm definitely not expecting modern comforts but everytime I go the 'dakas dakas' noise of tiny potholes make me wince and cry cause that sounds expensive.
  24. Tomorrow is "Garage day" guys! will be changing the timing belt of the car tomorrow. Will update on the tires and suspension of the car!
