I have to disagree with some of the advises here. First ,by rotating wheels as Sylvi mentioned wont solve any alignment issue. Thats like a Houdini's move. Trick your eyes. Alignments can go bad due to various factors including where you live and the make and the model of the tyres . If you take your hands off the wheel and car goes straight never assume the alignment is correct.Car will drive fine on equal or near equal primary or secondary angle alignment of tracking off will not affect the straightline characteristics a human can detect. Only way is checking it using conventional or new tech methods. An alignment check at tyre shop will cost Rs750-1000 and wheel balancing is diffrent (Some are confused with balancing and tracking) and expensive. If you have good weekends off and wanna spend some time car the alignment DIY is fun.If not take her to the shop and get examined.I would say 10K is fine. MINIACE

Mate, you mentioned the coolant level is reducing. You could be having a 'Slow leak'.Below steps are if you are having a leak. Few DIY to isolate the case.Run your car till engine comes to working temp. Park her at a dry location and Ideally a cemented /tarred place with plenty of light with the engine running.Try and spot any water droplets under the engine bay.Surely you will spot if you have external leaks.Focus areas of expansion tanks, thermostat, waterpump, upper and lower hoses, Aft cooler lines (If auto),drain plug and radiator (tubes). Your radiator cap is a common type. Talk to a buddy owns any Japanese car and swap if the cap is similar to determine. If the problem is still there check for any head gasket leaks. Dont forget to monitor temp level during DIY process. Good Luck mate! MINIACE

"CRACKDOWN ON BEAT BARRELS AND SOUND GADGETS"-Daily Mirror 06/01/2012 "Police will crack down on motorists using beat-barrels, extremely loud horns and sound-producing gadgets on their vehicles when the new regulations gazetted under the National Environment Act come into effect this week. Environment Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa said the Act covered some four million motor vehicles ranging from three-wheelers to mega container carriers which had extraneous gadgets producing enhanced sound levels and thus leading to sound pollution. The new provisions spelt out the maximum sound at 105 decibels up to a distance of two meters from the vehicle in front and 93 decibels when the vehicle is in a stationary position. The minister said those who violate the new regulations enacted under the National Environment Act No. 47 of 1980 and known as the National Environmental (Vehicle Horns Regulations) No. 1 of 2011 would face spot fines or prosecution if the offence was repeated. The restrictions will not apply to ambulances, trains, fire engines, police vehicles and vehicles used by the armed forces or when it is necessary to convey information to the people in an emergency. Central Environmental Authority Chairman Charitha Herath said noise levels shall be measured in terms of sound pressure levels either by the use of a sound level meter or any other measuring equipment recommended by the CEA from time to time. He said a sound level meter would be calibrated before and after each series of measurements, using a Class 1 acoustic calibrator. The meters will be supplied by the CEA to policemen and the exercise will be carried out in close cooperation with the Motor Traffic Department." MINIACE

Assess speed due to mist: Police FRIDAY, 06 JANUARY 2012 16:15 Daily mirror Due to the mist along the Southern Expressway the police advise motorists to assess their speed by taking the mist in to account. Eric Perera of the Southern Expressway Traffic Division said that a policeman is being placed at every exit and entry point in order to create awareness due to the prevalent weather. “The motorists who travel along the expressway think that the minimum speed is 100 kilometers per hour. But that is wrong, it is the maximum speed we have allowed them to travel,” he said. “The other problem we are facing right now is that most of them drive along the right lane. The right lane is given to pave way for motorists to overtake other vehicles. After overtaking a vehicle the motorist should bring his vehicle back to the left lane. We are strictly implementing this law as it had caused a number of accidents,” he added. The Southern Expressway Traffic Division has fined 471 individuals mainly for exceeding the speed limit (100 kilometers per hour). A total of 51 accidents have been reported causing injuries to 18 persons so far since the first expressway in Sri Lanka was opened on November 27, last year. http://www.dailymirror.lk/news/15941-assess-speed-due-to-mist-police.html MINIACE
