Guys I faced big trouble y'day and i was coming to my home town form katharagama .heavy rain i couldn’t see the road with my head lamp (low beam). is there any high watt head light available for EK3? i have seen some of them are using HID , Projection lamps....etc what is the best one? i do not need to blank eyes of the opposite drive’s with my low beam !! People do this, i get blank too. i think it is not ethical Please let me see your views sira

Finally, this issue was fixed. the incorrect timming was the issue.now it dose 15 km per liter outside. have not checked the city limit.plugs are white too. thank you for all wo replied to me on this matter sira

i have checked it and clenned the Distrubother coover too. is there any way to test the distrubutor condition Sira

Hi Jerk on gear shifting The story behind this 1. 3 months ago my car had an issue with idle up speed. With AC or without AC the engine RPM was rising about 2000 and coming back to 800 within 2 seconds. Then it was repaired, the Idle up units was stuck. It was cleaned and Petrol filter were replaced at the same time 2. Few weeks ago there was a misfire while driving. Changed the spark plugs, cleaned injectors and replace the air filter as well. Now i can see the petrol consumption somewhere 8Km/L . And the sparkplugs are bit a brownish and carbon to the body, please see the picture. One guy said the distributor is faulty and to fix this you need to have new distributor. When i shift gears form 2nd to 3rd ,there is jerk coming and when i accelerate on 3rd and 4th gears The engine gets shake, and then only raised the RPM ,in 1,2 seconds. But not instantly. This is new issue. The spark plugs colour was pure white and it was like a ‘coconut’ previously (8 months ago). also i can remember the engine was shaking when i accelerate on the morning( cold) and if its warm it doesn’t shake. Can you see any combination of all this issues? Or those are separate issue? Who is the best for this kind of sensitive issues? Sira

As I mentioned you about my friend’s EK3 , one of a mechanic said the Thermostat valve is useless. You can run without it and does not make any sense. How true it for Hondas, because as i’m aware the Thermostat valve is the something like temperature controller, it controls the temperature if it’s hot only. why All cars got this unit if it's not necessary Anybody knows the reason of removing the thermostat valve. Is Honda uses bit am high temperature than other cars? What is the logic of this statements? Thanks sira

Hi My friend got 2000 EK3 few weeks ago and suddenly the engine temperature was gone high. So after that we filled with water and noticed, every day the water level is reducing. However we got to know previous owner had replaced the cylinder gasket. Will this water bubble cause of gasket leak? i can cinfirmed there is nor water leak on the radiator and any other places, Please advise me Sira

Hi Can any body tell me what kind of grease should applied for door detent rood(see attached). in side this unit got Teflon cage, metal roller and rubber blocks. normal grease not suitable for Teflon as i got information from mechanical engineer. because i have applied normal grease and door is very noisy when I open the door it is hard than before. All My EK3 – 98 exi had a charging system issue and solved by replacing diode plate in side the alternator and battery . now charging ok. How ever I noticed the engine RPM on Idle stage has been reduced and looks it now around 600 with out the AC off. I ‘m not sure this happens after fixing the alternator issue or not. Repairing the alternator may effect engine RPM? Tight belt or continues charging the battery? What is the standard RPM for EK3? sira

Hi guys, Can any body please let me know the best place to interior cleaning for honda? Thay must have 1.Dry/Wet vacuum cleaner with shampoo trigger 2.Multiple cleaning liquids for Seats, Hood …etc 3.Must be well known person for Honda Seats and other plastic covers….etc the story behind this I have done a cleaning and I left my car there when i come back, the carpet was fixed but it is still wet. So I told the technician again let it be dry (took me 2 hours) The place is front of Laugh super market in koswatta. They charged me 4500 but cleaned only 50% to me. I was very disappointed with the cleaners. The way they remove seats and covers. They just pulling seats with out unscrew the bolt and they don’t have tools too. Finally I had to teach them how to remove EK3 seats in proper way. This is typical mechanics in Sri Lanka and you all agree with me I’m lucky coz I have downloaded the service manual for EK3 and know how to remove parts in proper way Sira

IT is not a common issue and i had similar issue with my old FB13 after dismantle the Distrubuter the voltage is not sufficent and knok too.so i had to replace the whole DB unt. so same thing happn here. it s very sencitive and it got auto retard and advance function. so let a specilist to replace the oil seal

hi I had FB13 for a 6 years time and finaly i fed up with the fuel consumption and sold it. i got honda EK3 1998. oh my god what a fuel consumption . cannnt compaire with FB13 with same engine capacity. it is doing well in colombo - 12 KM. so your issue this car having electronic carblator controller unit call ECU.if you open right hand side cover of accsalator you can find it. it will be sensing following items 1. Speed of your car 2. Engine coolant temp 3. Nutral Gear position 4. Clutch posotion 5. Power stering pressure with few of aspects. so you have to check them all then you can have bset fuel consumption and this carb got dual barral intake and in different speed and different stages the carb acting as different mode.be care full and do not let temper this carb. so if you go for agens it will be more and jsut catch a guy in agent and they are well known person or call - Wasantha - Zero seven seven seven two eight three two eight three two. he is the best guy in kottawa. also you can download service manual on nissanfoum website it got nissan sintra which is US model but carb are sme. so can check all components too.how ever the carbs will not become original condition ,do not pay more for fixing carbs and if you dismentle and assamble lots of time it will be unusable sira sira
