Don, I bet we could expect a hell of a lot of engine ware and tare from it..don't you think...all the Turbo diesel I know got wasted after 200,000km..some of them before 150,000km mark. The problem is high rpm and high compression ratio does not seem to couple together I think! He will have to do the engine after driving for a while. Will have more trouble starting up once under compression than the normal diesel I think. Personally I think Turbo diesel is not a good option unless you are performance driven which I am sure you are not. I don't know about normal aspirated diesel's but heard a lot of bad comments from the people I know who had em..but they did not give me a particular reason though!

Agree with DON! Its not about going to the agents, its about getting the correct error code. Any person who has the Diagnostic sensor could tell you the code. Once you have it..even you could do some background reading on the web on error codes and find out the fault. Be careful first stick to diagnostic..dont let any garage dude touch it..unless you figure out exactly whats going on...most of the garage mechanics will tell you "lets me see", but how can they ..if they dont have diagnostics! I am sure it wont cost you much for a diag. even at agents..But be sure nothing more just the report..and get out! Can be something minor too...happens often when the sensor face becomes dirty with dust and moisture..or particularly when the sensor goes down... Remember ..electronics is the last thing you dream about to mess with!

I'ed love too bro..But it does 13kmpl on the slow revs..so thats as close to a VVti figures..more than I could expect..so why bother spending a lot more like 15-20lacks for a fuel economical domestic..besides it has much more features than something like a maruti or zen or qq which is in its range and lets keep this all aside. Correct me if I am wrong, but a lot more aspects should be taken into consideration other than Power train and Gearbox if simply it is to be Labeled a "Complete Conversion"..many conversions done here are just the gearbox and engine. But items like breaks, ecu, diagnostics, fueling, electrics, suspension are excluded. If all these attended too properly..only then will it be a trouble free vehicle. Coming back to the market value..surely a conversion does not carry the same market value for any vehicle I am quite sure . Thats because originality is expensive and factory made defaults are valued as well as their quality pieces of work done in Japan, but not to forget and underestimate there are a couple of very smart guys here who have done and can do a 1to1 proper conversion! Also I must confess good things are hard to come by and also not cheap! So are limited..since a good conversion is hard to find... One example comes to my mind. This particular one's you referred, had problems because of bad auto gearbox or other malfunction(eg:electrical fuel pump etc).???.both of these problems as I know can be eliminated via proper maintenance and proactive replacement/repair on time unless its a factory fault! And doing so will eliminate the thallu start situation 95% of time. One such mandatory tip is to have a Excellent battery in your vehicle if its an auto! This I don't think any person can argue on! And well, consumption is something totally different! What is the most accurate reason for your opinion on auto been bad?

I was inking the same. Even more domestic type Agents like Toyota Lanka charge absurd amounts of money for parts!(eg:-EP82 plug set Rs:7500.) The person may be under perception that Auto's when malfunctioned are very costly to repair and also require hard to find expertise. Luckily it isnt the case as far as I know it comes with a basic automatic and no complication like CVT or multimatic-s. But if he thinks lack of rapid torque transfer...then yes this can only be achieved in the manual, but yet again if I have not mistaken both manual and auto have same BHP and power to weight. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. And also a little plus on the consumption not drastic I think.

Cant say its all the way underpowered! If you look closer and compare the 1.3l auto Vs the 1.5l auto. 1)The 1.3 is 50kgs lighter than the 1.5 2)The 1.3 is 85bhp and 1.5 is 110bhp 3)The 1.3 is SOHC and 1.5 is DOHC Agree a 25bhp more for just 50kg's is a lot. 1.5l is more of an overpowered! In my opinion the 1.3l is a lighter car with a small engine and .....mind you ...the real tricky part which is making a significant blow is fuel economy is the TRANSMISSION! the 1.3 has a 3AT and the 1.5 has a 4AT is why the 1.3 is not efficient as the 1.5. The TOP is always the 3rd gear..it always feels like there should be another gear for going on long run..feels like too many revvs in TOP! Any comments...

Start from Minor to Major. Start from Plugs to leads..make sure plugs are good(plug tip) if they are bad cleaning will not sort it out. Next do a simple ecu reset by removing the terminals keep for few minutes and reconnect show reload default map..if problem still there move towards fuel side..Fuel filter,injectors etc.

Do this extremely carefully mate! Your lucky enough not to get a bullet in your head since he was not a ministers son or V*P. Yeah true we all hate this sort of crap.
