Vw Bora Engine Grinding Sound Above 2000Rpm And Ticking Sound When Idle
Twin Turbo replied to vishwa.j's question in Mechanical problems
Yes, it's noisy, but it's 1. The noise above 2k rpm seems like the exhaust. get the system checked and for loose or vibrating heat shields or cat convertors. 2.The noise at idle ,mostly generated from the injectors.and valve train. Get the alternator drive belt tensioner checked for noise, -
congrats on your acquisition, Replace spark plugs with iridium's and a replace air filter with a free flow air filter ( keep the stock fresh air intake , just get a free flow panel filter)and lastly, add a fuel system cleaner to your tank the next time you fill up., you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results As for your Freezing cold A/c, Enjoy it! as most complaints are the opposite of yours with low cooling, if it's too cold, reduce the blower speed or switch it off, You'll get more fuel efficiency too :-) The heater-bypass is an A/c mech's attempt to increase cooling efficiency or done to "fix" a coolant leak from the heater matrix. And to improve handling, replace the stabilizer bushes both f/r. Enjoy your drive!

If this guy doesn't have what you need in stock, he'll build it for you.

You've answered your question half way.You Don't drive an Evo There's a misconception with our drivers that 95 Ron is some how " better" for ordinary cars, it's not. And what guarantee do you have that you are actually getting what the pump says? Local Fuel starts life as the lowest cost tender winner for the local supplier,

Your prob seems to be partially resolved, one more thing, have you looked at your cooling system? as a "hot" running engine will not properly cool the condenser as the rad is next to it.Also make sure both cooling fans work with the compressor. so as a precaution , replace the thermostat valve+rad cap and add fresh coolant as if no maintenance has been done to your car's cooling system before it blows up and empties your wallet. I've seen recon Hyundai Accent's having smaller radiators than the brand new models of the same age/model .As Hyundai Own Kia you may have the same prob, Yes the time you mentioned is the hottest in Col and gives the hardest workout for your a/c., overfilling of refrigerant is a common mistake our a/c mechs make,we must take into account that your car is more than ten years old and make sufficient adjustments for the age/mileage. if you drive an auto get the idle speed checked as when you engage D , there is a significant drop in Rpm Lastly,do a good clean up of the condenser and give it a gentle wash . you'll be amazed with the results. And increase A/c idle up to approx 900 Rpm it will cause less load on everything,

One last thing,Don't make your ATF change the last Resort! The magic trick is Maintenance!

At the end of the day, It all depends on how you drive,.. All hybrids have a battery similar to a cellphone in type and tech and we all know what happens to cellular batteries when they grow old,./And Don't get me started on maintaining the Hybrid drivetrain,..
-
One more thing, How sure are you of your car's current mileage? as our cars have a thing where they " reduce their mileage when sold" Toyota recommends 100,000 Km or 6 years for their t-belts.

This sounds like a case of trafficitis just get a mechanic who has worked in the middle east. He'll have a better idea on what to check.and if you drive an auto, change the atf .. Don't wait till it's too late as hill climbing is stressful to both engine and transmission. I agree, that maintaining an appropriate operating temperature is important. yet, overdoing it will eventually give you a head ache.

For the budget conscious car restorer, If you not going to do a concourse restoration, and win prizes, Might I suggest just painting them bumpers matt black and invest the money saved in a brake system upgrade (booster assisted tandem dual circuit) You'llbe able to safely stop in an emergency rather than have flashy bumpers! :-)

You can spare yourself a lot of headaches by 1.Carrying out gen maintenance,+ addng a fuel sys cleaner/treatment 2. not driving on E- as an empty tank will rust from inside, and the rust will eventually get loose and clog your fuel system :

I've read about drivers getting stopped by our cops who rigged up their own laws when it comes to legal compliance of lighting to the point where cars with factory fitted HID head lights were taken to court. so don't ask for trouble, . unless you've got a good lawyer! When it comes to aftermarket HID kits, reliability is a major issue,.. Sure they look cool , but you want them to work at night when you drive home after a'few too many ! LED's produce comparatively less light - although they have advantages over their HID counter parts. bottom line,.. Reliability above all,..

Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia Recent Onset Low Pulling Issue
Twin Turbo replied to Winchestar's topic in General Automotive
Bro, Most of if not all of your gripes are directly or indirectly due to Maintenance, I'm not sales person but Which spark plug would you use? Motor cars have been round for more than a century, and it's not rocket science So Replace your Air filter, spark plugs, and put a cleaner in the tank the next time you fill up. As fore your transmission, CVT 'boxes require specialized atf . so you may not get away with "Just changing atf " Try asking the local agent for your car for the recommended ATF and replace tit with the internal filtter/strainer if equipped,.. God Luck,.. -
The W126 is one of Merc's last over engineered cars built to a stranded instead of a budget. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmBhNqelbN8 Having said this, finding a good usable example will be hard as most have been converted to diesel and auto's to manual etc.but having a century of engineering heritage behind them keeps them chugging on our roads with basic maintenance done with chewing gum, strung with wire and a prayer,... and the dealer has priced themselves away from customers. It's not recommended as a first car not because of the costs but it's sheer size making it very difficult to drive and park in Colombo.I once parked my W124 so far away to my destination in Bambalapitiya so far away that I took a taxi to where I was going to. :-).Needless to say, Now I take my wife's Charade! Stick to the specialists in parts and maintenance mentioned here and you'll be ok. .

Fuel Consumption Problem In Nissan Sunny Sb 13 Car
Twin Turbo replied to suneth6's topic in General Automotive
1, All depends on how you drive and where, While saying that, I met an owner who got down a new SB13 years ago who claimed that his car did over 18 per liter, unknown if it with out a/c.But it was a manual! 2.Do a full service, including the gear box.Change air filter above all. 3.Check Tyre pressure, wheel alignment 4. Pressurize injectors 5. Use A/c conservatively You may see an improvement provided your engine compression is up to scratch. -
Age, heat and dust take their toll on these parts.Replacement cost should be taken into account.,best bet would be Delkanda High level Rd aria or the like where used Jap spares are sold. Take off the part and go to one of these Chop-shops and ask for a similar unit. "if you say the make and model, you'll straight away get a negative reply. Good luck!

Any car place is only good as their people doing the work and their equipment,..! 1.The employees at this place have no idea on how to use the equipment. - I refer to both alignment and engine tuning.at their HQ and now closed branch at Highlevel Rd Nugegoda. 2. Any employee gaining sufficient skills to do anything even remotely correct leaves for a job overseas paying much more. so, this place is left with a bunch of monkeys who can't adjust the wheel alignment on a bicycle :-) .As for the Suspension, it's better to dismantle and inspect / replace all old/worn parts as the SL climate+Roads takes their toll on anything with wheels.

Water + Engine electricals = Big probs ! The only places water belongs in an engine bay are the cooling system, windscreen washer and the battery!
-
conventional cooling systems have all cooling fans forcing air from the front of the car into the engine bay. It is possible that the condencer fan runnging backwards may have been a lame attempt to cure the engine running 'hot' or just a simple wiring mistake. First, Get all fans running the correct way. Second, get the engine 's tuning checked by a qualified dude who knows what he's doing,. as running on the wrong settings can make it run hotter than normal or in your case, heat up with the extra load of the A/C. Third, get your car's engine cooling system upgraded to the speck of the model which had factory A/C. I.E. Larger capacity radiator core + complete cooling system flush and add coolant in the recomemded concentration. you should also bear in mind that cars not fitted with factory A/c have lower output alternators and you might benefit by fitting a higher capacity unit to supply the extra amps needed to run the a/c ststem. This should get you there, Good luck.

There's lots of after market workshop manual makers such as Haynes you could try Toyota Lanka may be a last resort. www.haynes.com

Sounds like you have a charging system fault, Take it to a reputed auto electrical garage, You might have to recharge the battery to drive again, preferably on low charge over night, You may have a prob with the alternator or regulator . Good luck!
-
best to get a custom unit made for the vehicle from the air filter box outwards in 3 inch flexpiping as the engine is prone to lots of vibs especially when idling with out an idle up running an a/c compressor . there are lots of stainless steel fabricators who can bend and shape the external bit and you'll only need a top to keep the rain out. ( try used jap car parts dealers)
