Am I the only one here seeing people's opinion of "handling" skewed by sentimental feelings towards their own cars?
-
You haven't looked under the hood yet? sooooooooooooo, does this have alloy wheels or hubcaps?
-
You have the vehicle with you now.. so you will be the first owner (in reality), but on paper you will be second.. but why would you even worry about things like this?? Are you already worried about the 2nd hand market??? If I just bought a brand new car, i would get the paperwork done and start driving/enjoying it right away, rather than delay registration (presumably to increase 2nd hand value) and watch that car gather dust in my garden.. siighh.... different strokes for different blokes i guess... PS: What's this new car btw? Care to share a photo at least?

Selling A Car Through Places Like Pk Niwasa
Watchman replied to ransam's topic in General Automotive
If you're selling a popular model, the easiest is the ##### and price it a tad lower than other similar cars.. don't sound too greedy and over price it. Drop 25k from the market price and it'll be gone by lunch time sunday. If it's not a mainstream model you're better off with the AL classified because the advert will be around for much longer, hence more likely to be found by someone looking for the specific model. -
Why are you asking for "opinions"??? You're not buying a car to share with whoever gives their opinions right.. Why dont you get yourself an umbrella, and go take a walk around the office carpark and see what YOU like. Then call the agent for whatever car and ask them if its offered on the permit.. is that so hard??
-
So by your logic, more than half the vehicles on the road today are "bad".. Your van is probably one bad example, but for that one bad example I can find you a dozen GOOD examples of older vehicles running without the type of issues you talk about.
-
Sampath, that Handbrake cover/boot looks quite good. Until I saw your text above the photo I thought it was a OEM part..
-
Best or cheapest? Best according to the opinion of many here is Dean's near Maya Avenue.. But its not the cheapest..
-
Irosh, can you not understand that everyone here is telling you not to waste you moneyon these stupid stuff... You're getting a mere 2 kmpl less than other similar cars.. Rather than waste time with those fake gadgets or Austrailians' jizz why dont you just use the Rs.4900 to pump some extra petrol.. eventually your cost per kilomter will be the same! anyway, if you have excessive black smoke then your engine isnt working as it should.

Is The Vehicle Market Crashing In Sri Lanka?
Watchman replied to MoneyMaker's topic in General Automotive
Elakiri machang!! you're right.. these fools dont understand... I also predicted that the market might go up or that it might go down. Aand that if neither happens it will stay the same. But no-one listened to me also -
Haaha!! Dude, I too came here expecting to see sylvi's essay on his 50 years of fuel additive experience (not to forget adding 2T oil in his 4T engine)... PS: But I think this is the first time someone who's happy with his fuel cosumption wanting to add some crazy liquid (for all we know it could be an Austrailan mate's piss)

You should search first rather than ask people to re-type what's already here..
-
Maybe the mod can remove that post ASAP to at least some other who haven't had the movie ruined by the said post...
-
+1 I hate it when people do that! It's rven worse when some people get smug cos they "figured out the plot" as opposed to someone who hasnt even seen the movie yet..
-
photoshopped. Unless the guy parked the van in the exact same place and stood in the exact spot and made sure the coconut branches above reflected off the glasses identically, its a very good photoshop job.
-
At the point of registration it was an orange... Probably change colours since then I guess.
-
shouldnt be hard... Put some half naked girls in it and Peri's fully satisfied..
-
Got it.Thanks

I think he might have meant no modification... Something you have to specify when talking about "Civics"
-
Hey Komi, I think the 2nd and 3rd links are wrong...
-
But you told the OP not to buy any Pajero without even seeing the vehicle. In fact you're dismissing all pajeros based purely only their age. PS: On that logic of repairs being co-related to age, then Komi might as well take a mattress and live in the garage.
-
Sylvi, you are contradicting yourself aren't you. In your first post you are against buying a old vehicle because there will be repairs and parts replacements etc etc. But within 24 hours you say that anything can be repaired with minimal cost. And even more ironically, you say that a the pajero with a very straight forward diesel engine will have endless repairs, but the Rexton which is packed with a Common-rail engine, tiptronic transmission and loads of other fancy electronics can be repaired at minimal cost. Shouldnt it be the other way around?? And mind you, the "hunting for spares" for the pajero will be a 100 times easier than waiting weeks/months for the Rexton agent to get parts down from korea... Once again, I goto my initial point: To you anything is good as long as you have it or someone you know has it.. everything else is a piece of cr@p. This shows your lack of integrity and poor character. Shame! PS: And unlike your Rexton's Rs.22,000, I'm sure a belt pulley on a pajero can be replaced for 1/10 the cost...Rs.100-200 for the bearing itself and maybe 1000-2000 for labour.

Tesla Motors - Cars That Will Change The World
Watchman replied to Californikan's topic in General Automotive
And it took you a year to come up with that? Anyway its a legit sounding excuse.. Since you're in the sharing mood why dont you share with us your international standard forum and your nickname there.. -
No offence Sylvi, but I dont think you are qualified enough to give opinions of vehicles. For you, if you or your family (or your neighbour) have owned the vehicle its a good vehicle (Ex: your chinese van, your indian van, your daughter's lancer, neighbor's Nanos and now your relative's rexton) But as soon as you sell the vehicle you start talking crap about it. Anuradha, Make note that the 15 year old mitsubishi still being of a high market value is a sign that the vehicle is sought after by people. And by sylvi's own admission his brand new rexton also needed part replacements in its short lifespan. And unlike the pajero for which you will find spare parts in any major town, for the rexton you'll be at the mercy of the agent and have t pay whatever price that ask for. And like Peri, i find it amusing that you're worried about the 2nd hand market.. Clearly the market for the rexton isn't as high as a jap brand. Which is why you're looking at a 5 year old rexton and not a 5 year old mitsubishi or toyota.

Tesla Motors - Cars That Will Change The World

Awww.. cute.. its like the fox who found the unreachable grapes too sour for his taste... But if you really are the EV advocate that you pretend to be, I would imagine you to be one of the first people at the tesla factory placing an order.. I guess you just dont put your money where your mouth is
