  2. eh? My car shifts to 3rd at around 50 and 4th only above 70. Exactly how slow do you people drive your cars?? And here are the maintenance tips for the 2005 Vios. The manual is dated 7th June 2005.
  3. I thought coil springs were powder coated. I think what he means might be something akin to spray on polyurethane bed liner available in the US.
  4. Or do it the DIY way; buy yourself a roll of cooking foil, cut out 2x1 inch bits, fold into random shapes and stick then all over your dashboard.
  5. The Vios isn't some foreign exotic. Just carry out the usual 5000km service and thats it.
  6. Sylvi, well I just wait till my vehicle acquires a dent worth of contacting the insurance, at which point I haggle with the baas to get all the other odd scratches and things fixed as well. Considering the fact that we've paid almost a million rupees in total during the ownership of our van, I believe the odd claim of 8k-10 rupees every few years would hardly be considered cheating them.
  7. I believe he means these. AFAIK you'll have to get them fabricated, this is a 70's design quirk and no longer in fashion.
  8. I (would) wait for a larger dent to appear, then claim insurance and get everything done at once.
  9. My garage guy specializes in 2C/3C conversions of Korean vehicles. We almost bought a 3C-T powered Trajet instead of the Vios, but the leather seats were badly worn. The vehicle drove very nicely, and unless you knew it was a conversion there were no tell tale signs. The guy also converts old Sonatas and G30s.
  10. Asus Transformer TF101 16GB, no idea how much it went for when it was bought but I believe its around 35k mark now. I got a hand me down because the owner wanted to go for the new iPad. I need to get the keyboard thingy for it though.
  11. Holy crap Dumbo makes an appearance after aeons. What happened? Mama and Dada grounded you for a week without internet privileges? And getting back to topic, I recently ditched my netbook in favour of a tablet running ICS. There is some expected overlap with my Android phone, but in no way does it create any sort of redundancy, at least not in the classic way redundancy used to be addressed in tech. The new term for it is "the cloud" (tingly sound effects etc), and having your stuff at your fingertips a la dropbox style, no matter where you are and what device you're using. I find it refreshing to know that if I update a contact while I'm using my tab, i.e. linking new social networking account or whatever, it will be reflected on my phone as well. The same goes for Evernote (which find myself using quite a bit) and all my Calendars, which include holidays, sporting event schedules etc. In effect, I find my phone is more of a companion than a redundant device. Oh and the best thing is, as my tablet has no 3G, when needed I use my phone's wifi hotspot feature to access the internet on the tablet if there's no free wifi in range.
  12. Might I suggest Sasha Grey? But she too has turned away from porn as of recently Probably due to the same reason Peri stated earlier.
  13. There's also the MA10ET which is only turbocharged. They're rare engines, you'll have to look for them in Japan.
  14. Did you run out of fuel while on the road?
  15. if it's clear, then it isn't a tint. The 3M clear film application reduces UV absorption and the heating up of the interior on sunny days without affecting clarity. It's like having a screen protector on your windscreen, you can see the difference but it doesn't obscure anything. There's a car in our office which has had the treatment done to it.
  16. There's a maroon unregd/SORN Lada on the Madiwela/Kotte road. And on the night of the Colombo Night Race practices there was an 18- blue Lada wagon complete with sponsor stickers and race numbers parked near my car, on the grassy knoll opposite the Green. Any idea if these ever made it here?
  17. I see a large old 31 sri car which I'm sure is eastern euro, around the Rajagiriya area. Can't help but think it's a Moskvitch as well, but I've never gotten close enough to it and I can't find it on google either.
  18. machan, by chance were there any pics of your sister on her phone? If so, mind sharing a few with us?
  19. Yes, de-rice it and bring it back to stock. I myself am keeping an eye out for one, but no one wants to part with them. And then fit an engine from a Super Turbo and do 0-100 in 7 seconds flat.
  20. I PM'd her, she said I was the first one. Still waiting for her to get back with her phone number
  21. Take a look at a Ceres or Marino if you want a "sporty" looking car. Or an Astina.
  22. So much drama! I wish I could spend more time on AL, but I took an arrow to the knee.
  23. Pfft, the conditions favoured them, especially Perez. He would have taken the top place on the podium had he not futzed it up close to the end. Alonso was quite literally driving the wheels off of that car trying to keep Perez away. Things will return to normal in China.
