  1. yep. i remember hearing somewhere that service 3 of a mclaren f1 costs £25000!!! and rowan atkinson has 2. right! thats either service both cars or buy a brand new range rover
  2. awesome! guess he wont have to worry about the clutch again for say, a couple of launches
  3. i'll let you know mate! thanks right now i'm thinking of a more practical project involving an e34
  4. the honda experts can answer that. but as elvis said a proper one would be a bitch on day to day basis. i suggest u get urs milled.
  5. girly??? maybe a 1.0 march. this ones a proper belter. its not prettiest alfa ever but we should be glad they actually bothered to make it.
  6. why park and ride works say, in the uk is because of the following reasons. 1. parking in the city is very limited, the spaces available are very very expensive (£1 to £3 an hour). parking permits are impossible to obtain 2. there are congestion charges in some cities to consider (£8 a day) 3. traffic is not that much of an issue but buses coaches and taxis are allowed to use bus lanes so you can make better progress than in a private car. 4. buses are frequent and there's quite a lot of them in service and they operate throughout the day. i'm sure there are more reasons. but those are the ones that i think are most important. the thing is its the opposite in sl. well except for traffic of course. but it equally affects all modes of transport, except train (lets not even go there). so unless the government takes a big anti-car initiative and burdens the motorist with such atrocities we'd always be very happy trundle along in our personal cars.
  7. is he thinking of selling off the project? i've tracked down most of the components. but for me its the engine thats the hardest to get hold of. either way if he goes ahead i'll have find my own one of a kind project
  8. i should be quite worried then. cos dilashan has a habit of embarassing people with "lesser" cars. last time he beat me in his alto thats the pic that aroused my curiosity in the first place. btw, are they auto or manual?
  9. how many 12 srs have we got in sl? has dilshan really got one? p.s. its an interesting car. i just had to revive the topic
  10. ...right in the middle of the monsoon season
  11. you mean it won by sticking out its tongue?
  12. i think the landcruiser 100 has been the current trend for sometime.
  13. actually my point was its impossible to get the sleeves and the hub back to their balanced position. but i guess tiny dents on the sleeve can be repaired without much problem. anyways if they can do it and thats the most feasible solution go for it. i'm just being a little nerdy here thats all
  14. I cant really think of an engineering solution for an out of balance wheel. are you familiar with the methods they use to straighten them out? I'm still not convinced that these wheels will not start wobbling at a certain speed. please correct me if i'm wrong. i'm guessing our gurus have a few tricks up their sleeve.
  15. as far as i know if you've mangled your wheels you've had it. you can't get them back to their original balanced state ever. cos it'll probably resurface at high speeds.
  16. happy birthday guys!
  17. looking at all your previous topics i can give you only one advice. get rid of the damn thing!!! and for the love of god don't buy another one.
  18. sit back and enjoy Jadey... just sit back and enjoy
  19. oh no! it broke down before it could cross the line
  20. how about a 2nd gen mr2 dressed up to look like a 355? best of both worlds? or the ultimate chav express?
  21. usual aftermarket flywheels are around 30% lighter. i doubt a 10-20% reduction in mass wouldnt hurt much. but then again u might not notice much of a difference either.
  22. 40k sounds a fair deal if they are in good condition, considering a new trd setup will cost well over 100k. but i don't know how durable they are. find out which units they are. cos they made seperate units for road and track. even road unit would fail a bit earlier than you expect. if they are track units i suggest you use the car as little as you can on normal roads. cos driving fast over a few potholes would really loosen a few bits in ur car. most importantly find out what sort of a life they've had upto now.
  23. nice attempt! didnt the first one already feature on top gear? i think it was before the hamilton interview its amazing you can do that with an engine. but for something a little more musical i'd rather listen to the round 1 of sirasa super star
  24. London motor show 2010 is cancelled due to the recession. DAMN!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7952701.stm
  25. i was wondering if i'm the only sri lankan who thought about the whole mini-busa thing. has anyone done it here yet? i've been as far as trying to track down a hayabusa engine. but then i just gave up. btw guys please explain why you picked each car
