  1. Btw is this by any chance the same prius that had a small encounter with an electricity pole recently? the one that allegedly has a 4G63 inside?
  2. I saw this coming for some time. The civic regime has to upgrade too and seems like hybrids are their latest target. Look at the number of prii on the road with their owners names and vtec and other such unrelated stickers. saw a few insights too with this bug. the saddest was a crown hybrid with a cheap trd badge on the grille.
  3. Looks like a Honda fit shuttle to me. Didn't even know we had them here. It could have been a hybrid version.
  4. First of all, provided you got the right meter panel (rpm goes up to 6, redlines at 5) you'll need the dashboard wire harness or at least the socket for the rpm gauge. forget finding a complete dashboard harness. not many would sell it without the dashboard and no one would wanna sell a perfectly good dashboard harness without the other components like the engine etc.So just try to find the 2 sockets for the meter panel and the ecu. meter panel sockets are aplenty cos so many shops bring down dashboards with the harnesses cut. so you should be able to get one from a helpful place. as for the ecu socket you can get one off a carina ecu iirc. either way if you go to a shop with the ecu in hand you should be able to find it. then provided the ecu does send a signal for rpm you should be able to hook the two up directly or though a circuit if the signals dont match. a good electrician should be able to do this for you. if the ecu does not send a signal you can hook it up directly using the signal from the engine. But even for this a circuit might be needed. Anyway dont worry too much about the ecu cos it only makes a very small difference. kind of like the computer of a electronically controlled carb. what you should check is if all the vacuum lines in your engine is hooked up properly (they usually are when you get a complete engine). And crucially you need to have your exhaust changed cos this makes a huge difference. The other thing is you need to get the final drive ratio right. this is inside the rear diff and you'll have to change the entire axle to a noah unit. this should cost you something around 20k. you can identify a noah rear axle from the absence of bump stop receiving points i.e. the 2 square sections found on the top side of the axle where the rubber bump stops touch the axle (this is only there on the cargo model). you can make sure the gearing ratio is right without taking it apart by turning the pinion and counting the number times it turns when a wheel turns once (only one wheel will turn) your current ratio should be 4.778:1, so the pinion will turn 2.38~2.4 times when the wheel turns once . the right ratio for an automatic noah is 4.3 so you should find one that turns 2.15 times. Anyway get all this right and you should get around 12km/l from day to day driving. Mines a manual 4wd and I've done all these mods including changing both front and rear axles for 4.1 units. The whole thing weighs 1.6 tonnes and I recently found out I get 11-12 km on day to day driving.
  5. The turbocharged 110 probably came with a stock 4e engine. because it uses the same mounting points as the starlet fitting a 4e-fte is an easy A. But because yours has an A engine going with a 4a-ge is a less work. If you get down one of the later engines you might be able to get a 6 speed box with that. Not to mention it sounds nicer than the 4e.
  6. When I serviced my Allion I went with toyota engine oil. I cant remember the grades exactly. but it had to be either toyota or mobil. and mobil was more viscous than toyota and the price difference is very small so I went with the thinner one. that said the 1nz will accept anything upto 0w-40. That's the stuff I use in the vitz. Around 8000 a can and lasts for 15k kms.
  7. i think they went too far with the tapered lights and the sloping grille. It'll take some getting used to i'd say.
  8. Now here's a guy who's completely missing the point
  9. fitting a turbo to an n/a engine is a lot of work. you'll need a new exhaust manifold, oil lines, provisions for oil lines, vacuum lines, diesel pump and more. considering the effort needed and the risk of failure its not worth it. either way you are looking at a big operation. have a look around big engine shops when you are free. if possible try arosha on kandy road peliyagoda. They can break an entire car and bring all the parts you need. their engines are usually pretty low mileage.
  10. Thanks mate! for some reason i'm seeing a lot of these on the road these days. with a black top 4a-ge it could be a hoot. only if it was rear wheel drive.
  11. Go with a 1N-T from a tercel or corolla II. Should be a direct fit. Not sure if anybody's done this before but it should be possible provided there's enough room the turbo and manifold on the exhaust side. Usually there is but it won't hurt to check. You'll also have to change the radiator cos it might overheat when climbing hills with a heavy load. See if original 1nt radiator is compatible. Also see if you can get a gearbox with the engine cos your current gearbox be too slow. To get the best benefits fabricate exhaust tubing in a bigger diameter ideally with an original 1NT muffler. A 1c or 2c muffler off a car should also do if its small enough to fit. Also you might need a bigger flywheel. Wiring could be done by any skilled electrician. You might also have to find/fabricate air cleaner hoses because the intake will be different As for ABS you'll need new brake lines, ABS regulator and you might have to change the wire harnesses of the entire vehicle. So not really worth it unless you are upgrading the entire vehicle with parts from a higher spec version. @hasmax glanza s had a n/a petrol engine as opposed to the turbocharged glanza v. glanza's never came in diesel form and what you saw/heard of is probably a diesel starlet dressed up with glanza parts, something that happens a lot these days.
  12. Never mind getting someone up there. I'd love to see how this thing goes around a corner
  13. because its an actual industrial shovel
  14. Yes I am speaking out of specific knowledge of vehicles that changed hands during past month. whats more just yesterday I was informed of two 260s on sale for 4.2 million. Two things IJ, the car market is not limited to the pages of autolanka and quoting a price is one thing and selling your car at that price is a totally different matter. The best deals are heard through word of mouth. And condition and mileage are subjective things. I mean can you find a car these days that's not advertised as "in showroom condition" or low mileage when its done over 50k? As long as you are willing to look hard enough you'll always find a good deal. Actual car prices are not what we see on the internet and they are never fixed or have a lower limit.
  15. I wouldn't exactly called it overvalued because by the time you get down a decent allion/premio with all the available options it goes over 7 mil+ and look at the sort of cars available at that range. a few hundred thousand bucks give or take can get you some nice permit cars, like sorrentos, diesel bmw 3s, fully speced audi a4s, then sonata's optimas and even hybrids with more gizmos like the camry and harrier. you guys might not know it but especially thanks to the new taxes and the flood of permit cars the unreg allion/premio market has taken a serious blow. anyway the relatively ample availability of cheap recon parts and "badge value" (i guess) holds the resale value compared to other cars or does it? I sold my allion at 4.4 mil. It was black and had factory bluetooth and multifunction and had done only 20k and it still went for so little money. and don't think things have gotten better for the 2nd hand ones after the tax hike. despite the prices we see on autolanka you can still find good 260s in the 4.2 mil range. So I wouldn't really look at it even as a safe investment because some of these 4.2 mil cars were paid 6 mil plus during the last tax hike.
  16. lol another yanne kohedha malle pol courtesy of cali
  17. Get one of those bosch horns fitted. not the chrome plated msd special. those black "bella" horns. you can get them brand new from most motor outlets. last time I bought a pair it was 2500. I've already fitted them to 3 of my vehicles. 1 brand new and 2 from a recon parts shop. all 3 sound slightly different. dont know if it has something to do with the car electrics. check the noise before you buy. either way its pretty classy and not irritating like those cheap chinese ones
  18. Just when I thought I've seen them all I come across a defender with "dick brakes" lol

    1. Schiffer

      Schiffer

lolololol... wonder what the calipers made of ;)

  19. is it a blue one with alloys?
  20. 2 door or 4 door?
  21. The maruti owners first moved into vitz's allions and axios and made them look bad. now I think they are taking on euros
  22. Taking that shitty fuel in filling up a modern commonrail diesel with it. that's real smart. I think you are on your way to a Darwin award.
  23. Now that's my kind of car. beating younger theoretically quicker cars with good handling.
  24. shift below 2000 rpm unless you are climbing a hill or a driving with a heavy load. if so take it up to about 3k if you feel necessary. Anyway tell us more about this ep91.
  25. No two words about it. you've ruined it! I don't know how well you can get that rear end to look original again but at this rate you might as well fit some non original engine to get the levels of power u are looking for.
