  1. cheap diesel cab and out of colombo running will not go hand in hand chances are you`ll be towed back to colombo. whats your budget? any 50- and above nissan cab would go from starting LKR 1.5Mil. after the initial purchase price you`ll have to set a side some amount for the general and mechanical repairs...given that its 20+ years old there will be plenty...next depending on your offroading situation.. tires, suspension, diff locks, winch, snorkel, steel bumpers, roll cage, air compressors, after market tie rod, diff guards etc etc has to go in...everything would depend on your budget might even cost more than your 3 mil car since it`ll be an ongoing project all the time..
  2. whats ur purpose like ripper said you might be able to get a steel bumper which is seen as legal and use it for the same purpose you intended the bull bar...
  3. agree with this totally i think there are some who wear panties and skirts but still aware of what to do during a basis problem like this
  4. most 160`s we had in SL were short wheel base from what i remember so first just speak to an owner who has a legit 160 and check his book for the vehicle weight...next when you go checking out Y60`s just take a look at the book for the weight of the vehicle if its a long wheel base but carries a 160 weight in the book its a body swap and most likely not legit since once a body is fixed using a permit the owner has to weigh the vehicle and make changes to the book
  5. lets give the guy a chance to try it out post up your writeup about it and the pictures and lets see how it goes
  6. 1) PM Sent 2) Dont see why its not safe its a complete body swap that takes place most of the time and sometimes the only thing that gets changes it the chassis number and engine number engravings on the new vehicle

try getting the filters etc from outside sri lanka and just give to them for the service...you should be able to to reduce on the parts cost drastically since there is a good 200% premium on parts cost in SL
  8. plus i think the Y60 had a TD42 engine where as the 161 had the SD33....
  9. safety aside its illegal to have one from what i know..unless of course its a body permit even if it is the case you mind want to check with the rmv if the proper weighing was done and duty on the body was paid...there is a club for this type of vehicle in SL you might want to check with those guys also
  10. i`ve used a CBR 250 before switching to 4 wheels...honest opinion is that its a superb bike with the most minimal of garage visits. Just do you services in regular intervals and a decent tune up...the cibby should run fine...i used to get about 16km/l but thats cos it was carrying a 100kg ass around it...the riding pleasure you get is tremendous and end of the day its a CBR if your that certain person who likes an ego boost there you go it satisfies that as well.
  11. you mean the engine or the driver???

  21. good tyres should be on all 4 wheels not just the front two or rear. How much tread does your tyres have might have hit a oil or grime spot ???

  23. That is one nice looking truck..what specs and upgrades does it carry...we do have the same but the local variant is only the 2.5Lt engine and not the 3.0 or atleast i havent come across any up to now. not really think the navara`s here are mostly 4 door given the increased imports from UK i reckon...funny enough everytime some one mentions Smart Cab my mind goes towards the toyota
  24. i do it every 5000. Once i do it i take it back after i clock about 1000 to check if it has changed.
  25. why bother doing it when you can just replace the with a recon auto tranny...assuming that you cant fix the current one...either way you still didnt say whats wrong with the one you have
