    Gypsy is a bloody awful pile of metal, which is very uncomfortable. No A/C, No power steering, No power mirrors, shutters, or anything. Test drive one and see. U will run away from it faster than superman. Sylvi supports indian and chinese vehicles btw.

    @HR71- could u give a little more detail about the jimny fuel figures? Whats the difference of it with 90 and 95 octane? @ireshlk- someday u might have to take a sick person to a hospital or take an old relative to a wedding. thats the day u will regrest buying a 2-door car. unless u have other means, avoid getting a 2 door car.

    Go to a place like the punchi car sale where u will see many small cars on display. U can get an idea of the cars available for your budget and the condition of these cars. If petrol is not a big concern, chevy cruze and swift are pretty solid cars.

    AK12 interior sucks big time. It's very plasticky and gets discoloured soon. And it's not good on fuel. Does around 9 to the litre. Out of the above, I would prefer to go with a Viva.

    That itself IS the problem buddy. If everyone started driving in their own lanes and stop manouvering thru traffic, the congestion on the Sri Lankan roads will be much lower.

    It's not the mirrors buddy, it's the attitude of drivers on the road. Drive a big car and no one would dare to get too close. Drive a Vitz or a March or a Viva (as lot of ladies drive these), you become the three wheeler drivers' lil' b*tch.

    Those are not Wanker mirrors. Those are just LED strips attached to them. Ask forum member Sylvi WIjesinghe. He will help you to set up one of those contraptions. And this could be a possible reaction when you drive....

    Consider a Proton Wira. U can get an english numbered one for your budget and they ought to hold their market price (Price will not appreciate though), simply because u can't get any good car for that budget. Should do about 9 on petrol and it's a lancer underneath so nothing much to worry about maintenance.

    Don, are you seriously that naive??? It's not a matter of comfort or safety. This bloke has got a stripped down Merc on a permit. With fabric seats and no rear armrest, this C200 is in the same league as a Maruti 800, Toyota Vitz, Nissan March and the likes. That's why the bugger desperately wants to dress it up in seat covers and some artificial armrest. It's a matter of so-called prestige:D Remember the old (modified) saying.. money can buy Mercs and Bimmers but money can't buy class!

    In Sri Lanka, rexine is called leather. What u will get, are cheap rexine covers which will make your car look like an old lady in drag. Either way, you lose. Get the neighbourhood wadu-baas to do a box for you and then get it covered in leather

    Jimny is a 2-door 4 seater with limited space and small luggage space. It's got the same engine as Suzuki Swift and it has 4WD. The vehicle itself is not common and spares are not easy to come by. Terios on the other hand, is a 4-door car and its more spacious. Hence, it is more common. Sooner or later, the suspension of Jimny will go bonkers and you will have to shell out about 30-40k for repairs. You can get a Terios, Cami, old Vitara, Maruti Gypsy, Pajero Mini, Zotye Nomad 1.3 for that price range. If you want to look cool in a vehicle that pretends to be a JEEP, please don't ask about fuel economy. None of these will do more than 8 to the litre. If I were you, I will try to get a Perodua Kembara. It's same as Terios except for the front grille. But its made in Malaysia. I would use that as a bargaining point to grab one for about 1.5-1.6 million.
