Some tips to improve Fuel efficiency. This worked for me. 1. Replace your old AirFilter with Genunine Nissan March Air Filter (Don't put fake parts which put by Service stations) 2. Properly inflate tyres 3. Alloy wheels consume more fuel 4. Service your A/C system 5. Use better brand of Engine Oil (Mobil or Castrol) Darshana

Hi, I have townace CR42 Diesel vehicle. Auto Gear. My mechanic told that Air Cleaner Box (Plastic box which you put the AirFilter) is vibrating when accelerate and that's why the humming sound comes when accelerate. But he adviced to use it as it is and there is no need to replace, since it's common in this model. Also I feel the accelaration is poor. Can this plastic box and the plastic hoses lead to poor acceleration? Although I have done engine improvement with new Pumps, Injectors, and Air filter from the Toyota agent not much of difference than earlier. Thanks Priyanga

Hi, Has anybody done 3M fuel system cleaner by an 3M agent? Is there a significant performance improvement + fuel efficiency improvement after that? is it avaiable for Diesel engines also? Darshana

Hi, CR42 is a very good vehicle. CR41 is also very good one, I have used both and they are very reliable, durable and low maintanance cost. Excellent seond hand values. My father bought CR41 for 12.5 Lakhs in 2002 and sold for 17 Laksh in 2006. CR42 is better than CR41 with better suspension and higher engine capacity. CR41 did 12 - 14Km/L and CR42 doing 10-12Km/L. As I know KR42 is not much with difference with CR42 except the fuel type using. Darshana

I bought 85A GT brand sealed Battery for 13K. Non sealed 90A Exide was 12K. They reduced 1K for used 75A battery. I bought this from Perera sons in Koswatta, Malambe (Left hand side tyre and battery shop after 2 Km from Koswatta junction towards Malambe) I cross checked the prices from different locations and all having same price range. Since there was only GT brand available for sealed type, i bought that one. It's from same manufactor of GT radial tyre and distributor is Douglous & Songs, Colombo 10. They give only 1 year gurantee.

I have replaced my older 75A battery with new maintanace free battery. Some peple say that new maintanace free battery is not good. Any comments on this? Also, I bought GT brand. Is that brand good?

Hi dudes, My vehicle in Toyota Townace CR42, Diesel , Auto Gear. Recently I replaced the AirFilter with Toyota Genuine brand (Denso) for Rs. 3600, and it gave a tremendous improvement in pulling, acceleration and the fuel economy. Previously I used the air Filter put by my Service station for Rs. 700. I am thinking of putting the company recomended oil for my next Service. What brand do they use? Also, I am amazed how genuine parts can make the difference. Darshana

Hi dudes, Recently I had a vehicle checkup at Toyota Lanka and the front suspension is diagonistic as Overhaul. But the estimated cost to replace it is for labour: 13,000 and for parts 80,000. I felt this is too much. My questions: 1. Do I have to replace the entire suspension system or only the Shocks is enough? 2. Since CR42 syspensions are not much comfortable, Can I use some other superior suspension system/Shocks? 3. how much is good pair of Shocks for front wheels? 4. Thank you very much for your replies. The humming sound increases the when climbing a hill with AC on. Observable in D, 2, 1 gears only. Recently I had an Engine tune- up at Toyota Lanka and also had done ATF oil change from Laugf. Although I have asked the service advicer to have a look at the issue of this sound and he has told that it’s normal in CR42. But I know this is not normal from my previous vehicle experience. Hi, My vehicle is : Toyota, TownAce, CR42, 3C-E Engine, Auto gear, Done 70K on meter. I am observing an Humming sound when accelerating in Drive mode. This sound is not observable in P or N gears. this is also not observable in accelerating slightly in D gear. Only observable in 30% - 60% of accelaration in D gear. Any ideas? Thanks
