    Flooded Roads

i thought, if the water is kind of high, and if ur behind a bus or a lorry, as soon as they take, u must go behind them, as the water will be cleared for few seconds, but it seems, its not the case? can someone enlighten us here? yesterday it took 3 hours for me to go home, from Dematagoda - Moratua, damn! near the Boralasgamuwa junction (when passing the Kohuwala junction, Laughs, and all) - that road just where the cargills food city was filled with water, closed my eyes and drove over it, 'cos there was no other option..and some idiot truck drive had stopped right there on the road to make our life more worse.. if it starts raining today also, i will only go home after 8-9, damn, really hate to drive in traffic, good that vehicle is VVT-i, still that fuel meter is in the Full - indicator level, even after 3 hours of heavy traffic driving..even after coming to work today from home (i'm amazed) it was on full tank tho..by chance if it would have been the GT, i would have to stop and wait..to somehow go to main road and go back home..surely not the days for the sports / spec cars

  14. YEH, ppl have no value in anything..when its offered or given FREE.. god knows how we saved cent by cent to buy our single car but they think, god sent it for their wedding, and its for them to play and shit around..
  15. Really Agree with you Peri... Having had helped some neighbors, friends with the wedding/home coming trips on my account (some don't even bothered to pay for fuel even when its like longggg distances) believe me! they (all others) think the car is to be used for the all the coming issues in the day, damn! i've got really fed up at times offering help to ppl.. yeh, it surely is the reasons behind the high rates change, when u just mention it is for wedding/home coming..stickers (and these wont go that easy, even when the day is over for the couple) and the stuff u put in, scratches, arts the so creative ppl wanna try on your windscreen or the body..after drinks..ERRR.. say you can bare that all, in the 2nd year at uni, after helping a friends sis homecoming..there was this lecture we had the next day, and this guy shouted to the WHOLE batch, as i was entering the hall...ahhhhhhhhh...(My name) i saw you going for a Wedding HIRE!! from the next day, i left the car @ home and took the bus to uni

  18. thats great, must be nice - post some photos if you can.. whats the fuel u pump? and can u get 650KM in city limits? (I'm yet to experience it)
  19. in my case - i just didn't want to waste it and then, you don't have to prove how that CIF sum was paid either ahaa..u have a allion, tell us more info, whats the fuel u pump? hows it doing in colombo?
  20. hey don boy, as to what permit is this is posted in the earlier reply to nemash link? i have a scanned copy of the leaflet, i will upload it here once i get back home, yeh, its 10 years now, actually at first we were trying to get down a year:2000 TX, diesel, Manual Prado, but the tax it self came up to 47 lakhs, and the CIF was only 11 (yeh i knw we have paid 13.40 for the car which is 2002, and petrol, but then, i remember right, the amount for the jeep (CIF) came up to 11) so the final costs would have been 60 lakhs around may be even greater calculated if it had options..(we just don't have such money ) hope u had seen ma new babe on FB, u have rite? haven't ya? (btw, some gud time back u mailed me asking something, and i replyed u, but i didnt get a re-reply for that, hmmmmmmmm don! did u miss my mail? ) Note: i had to go through the whole process, so i know what, and how exactly, pls do not hesitate to ask for any help, anyone..
  21. its a blue permit / Gift Permit yup, there is a transferable restriction, u cannot transfer till 3 years from the first registration, hmmmmm..we are anyways using a car for 2 years, THIS, will c by the end of 2 years
  22. Thanks guys!!
  23. i dont think so..they mite send u the tax papers but..someone @ ur place can write back to them saying that u are not in sri lanka, and send the proper proof attached to show that u really aren't in here - 'cos last time my uncle came from USA, he've bought some properties (dat idiot didnt even tell us) and the tax papers came, he instructed to do so..and no problem ever after..
  24. okey, thought of sharing some info about this..as i have now already imported a vehicle under this permit, one of my brothers are actually in japan, but we used him only to get the permit, car was chosen, taken from auction and sent down to SL, all were done by a dad's close friends car sale (which is in front of CR&FC grounds) its a 2002 Allion, it was bit expensiver from japan it self, as for its color(Black), original wheels, and the HDD-TV setup it had, below are the costs that what we had to pay: Supplier: 13.40 Import & Export department: Initially: 32000/- Debiting the Permit: 52,000/- (it was a penalty charge, but dunno why was it, wasnt interested to look in to that, just wanted to clear the car out soooooooooner, so just paid it off) TAX: 17.20 (believe me, for the alloys they've taxed 75K, damn!! if i knew that earlier ) Clearing Agents: 30K Final Cost: almost 32 lakhs it was some great hassle getting the TIN's, VAT's and the TAX clearence's and all that..but then, i wont complain..its a superb car with low milage, of course u can buy such a car for around 36-37 but then(as i think), at least we have saved 5 lakhs from this, and thats a quite lot for us if anybody needs any clarification, i would love to help and BTW now they have changed the no. of years old, and now u can import a car which is 10 years older..
  25. they still say all excuses, saying that they are not gaining any profit on the diesel and that they are still making a lost, even rite now.. they only will know and not us - i was wondering..they are sure dogs, but we?? i think we got' a problem too to stay baring all THIS
