I used to cut off the car, walk up, pull the driver out and beat him up with a cricket bat. I don't do that anymore. Just kidding I sometimes used to feel like it though, but trying to control your road rage is good for the blood pressure. Just let the maniacs through. Yesterday, there was a tinted mid 90s corolla with hazards on trying to overtake everyone from the wrong side and go past. Some people weren't letting it through but I thought I would. Because what if there was a dying patient in the car? You never know why people are in a hurry.

This doesn't look like an expressway to me after all. It's just another road Hope they are not, in their own way, trying to compete with the Bolivian Road of Death : http://www.ssqq.com/archive/vinlin27b.htm

Anyone checked out the new Ford Motor showroom next to Unit#d Mot#rs at lipton circus? Though it seems to be run by a different company, can't imagine United would be very happy about that Anyway nice to see they have some real Ford cars and pickups in the showroom, as it's one of my favourite brands. No idea on the pricing. Hope they don't start bringing in F150 250 350s though, too impractical for our roads I think. Ford, anyone?

I don't know about thugs seizing vehicles (thought that was only in the movies) but interested to hear more about it? Anyway, rather than the legal issues (shouldn't be a problem if it's a reputed place), I'd be thinking more along the lines of if the guy couldn't pay his lease agreement, do you think he'd have put the time effort or money to maintain the car?

I'm 6 foot 4 and have not had much of an issue driving a Nissan Sunny, only problem is that I have to put the seat all the way back to prevent my legs hitting the steering column and that makes me not see very high over the steering wheel to be comfortable cos the seat in that is pretty low anyway. So then I sit on a cushion, and tell people it's cos I'm too short Have not found this to be much of a problem in most Japanese cars, though curiously I have found this to be an issue for me in the older BMW 5 series (2003). Would've thought that they make them for taller people in the first place.

I saw one recently near Asiri Surgical that had the sticker "Colombo Sexpress"... only couldn't snap a pic on the way past. Anyway, I think this is a load of BS. Haven't seen anything remotely like an enforcement of this rule yet.

Ya after googling, seems like Plate's do only the studio component: http://www.weddinginceylon.com/plate.php And Jonathan's seems to be doing it big: http://www.weddingphotography.lk/jonathans/ And Donald's claims to have the largest share of studio photography around 10 years ago : http://www.sundayobserver.lk/2002/11/10/mag07.html Think I've seen their place somewhere near slave island with ancient wedding pics in the window. Can't find anything much about Old man John & Co, must be still using those exploding flash bulbs Btw, do people actually go to the studio with the wedding party anymore or is it all on-location now?
-
What about the old fogies like John & Co (are they still even there? I remember they used to take pics of our school events last century) Donald's, Jonathan's, Plate's, etc.? Have they just got left behind with technology or simply not cool? Just something I'm interested in though I don't know anything about the subject, 'cos I was reading an article recently on how a wedding photographer can really make or break the day.

Fallen down? What are you waiting for? Go pick it up!

I can quite clearly hear a papara band playing at the SL vs Canada match as I type. In fact, it's nice because for once I can hear only that band and not a huge racket. So I guess in a way, this has been a good thing and they are allowing SLC sanctioned bands. Better than that vuvuzela nonsense at the Football cup. However, they are having technical difficulties with the sidescreen, not quite the best way for us to start a new venue

As he hasn't mentioned the type of vehicle, I think you're right!
-
Not to forget Old english numbers (A-Z, EY, EN etc )
-
Yep, it would make a great getaway vehicle. Actually, I'm sure there will be a lot of novelty use for it, at least until the novelty wears off, among the party crowd.

I know man, I was just finding it amusing And it's not every broker, but a few lucky individuals who are earning close to a million a month, and over 10 million in commission in a good month. Of course this would not last forever, but no harm them enjoying it while it does.

I thought it was something to do with Edirisinghe Bros...But it is evidently done by Suresh

What's the deal with all these cars running around on Paper plates? No brand in particular, mostly mass market stuff. Is there a hold up in the number plate production department? In other countries, there is a standard for paper plates that you attached before you get your permanent number plates, with a code from the local area etc included. And it is not a paper with your english numbers printed. Here it seems people are just printing them on their computer at home. What do you do if you have an accident or even a hit-and-run incident with one of these paper plate cars and it can't even be tracked cos the guy just pulled a number out of his ***?
-
You can expect to see several more of these hitting the streets in the next few months, courtesy several young and lucky stockbrokers who made a killing in commissions with YOUR market rupees

RMB is the vehicle registration spot of RnB?
-
Out of curiosity, what is the location these photos are taken? Cos every fancy car that has had pics posted on it in recent times seems to be photographed at the same location (the Shelby comes to mind). Seems too nice to be a customs yard?
-
Didn't one of them have a fancy Evo and was posting on the forums a few years back? Was under the impression that this was the case...KaluZ or something - I could be way wrong here. Otherwise, you can ask him and see Btw, nothing unique about finance companies sending folks to scare people there I think. Aren't they called Repo Men
-
I think it's just the fact that the cars here were just not imported with this option (although this is becoming less common as I see most of the newer cars of all makes having this, and the owner claims they were not charged for the option - yea right). Anyway all Japanese cars in the Euro and US markets do have cruise control. Not sure about the cars within Japan itself.
-
And a Shelby too, apparently .
-
Well it did look exactly the same (at least, it said Shelby on the back) No idea if the guy was actually a royalist, but if it's the same car then it most definitely has not left the country The car wasn't tinted in any way, and didn't have any escort though.
-
What exactly is the deal with this car? Amid all the talk of it being here for conversion, almost 6 months later I saw it exiting the petrol shed near Town Hall two days ago. And it was still Left hand drive, still running without any number plates, and was driven by some guy in a driver's uniform while there was a (looked) teenager in what looked suspiciously like a Royal College jersey in the passenger seat Could this have been brought down as a promo for the new Ford showroom that is opening next to mitsubishi showroom?

So we'll be driving while our windows are plastered with 3M marks? Worth the premium I think!
