If the original badge with chessy number says Type- ViRS it should be an original. So you can verify the papers to make sure its original manual ViRS. Is it in a car sale? If so the paint may got some touch ups. Better check engine, suspension parts etc, before you make decision.

First of all I think in average conditions EK3 Exi should do 10-12Kmpl and Vi/Vti models should do around 12/13Kmpl. So I guess you are getting low fuel efficiency in your car. And problem must be that your car runs open loop all the time. Once engine heated up it should use O2 sensor readings to get correct fuel ratio which is called closed loop if i'm not mistaken. (there was a thread in A/L too on this topic).If your car running open loop all the time, which means ECU recognize engine is cold and do not take O2 sensor readings.There are several sensors, but do not know if all these sensors give inputs between closed/open loop run.O2 sensor / ECT (coolant temperature sensor) IAT (intake air temperature). These sensors can malfunction even without giving error codes some times. Better test them one by one.

same here.. i had silver colour caps almost 3 years.. few went missing some time back. There is a guy at pertol shed who help to pump air. I think he remove them and keep. So When he come across another vehicle without caps he fix them for around Rs.20 - 50 ..

Peri/Watchman - I was out of touch with canon new offerings. So will have to do a full review the new range. Kawz - Yes you have a point there in why going from 1000D - 600D. The reason I wanted to go for new camera is that I gave the RebelXS to my brother and now in hunt of a new camera. I know that moving from 1000D to 500D/550D/600D is not a major upgrade interms of the body except for increased Mega Pixels, as all fall in entry level DSLRs. Since i'm not a Pro-photographer, I thought of going for decent body, but not a professional high end. And put money on a better lens covering more towards the telephoto end.

Manual Vi is cheaper than Multimati Vi ..EK3?? I doubt that. Because of the problems with multimatic boxes which haven't maintained properly they tend to hold less re-sale value. At least that is what I observed here in forum and my day to day experience with the car. For the question 5 - I dont know him personally or ever been there. But I highly doubt if he or anyone can change your ECU during a tuneup. If you don't have valve timing related issue, only thing a tune up would do is clean the throttle body, clean the sensors and some clean/change spark plugs, and run the engine with 3M/Wurth fuel system cleaner. I dont know how a someone can change your ECU during the process, unless you left your car with totally unreliable person.

Guys what is your opinion on the break down lane? If you check the training video the Pajero Jeep has one side almost touching the white colour line on the driving lane (outer lane). So vehicles will pass it just 1 - 2 feets away around 120Kmph. Isn't it too dangerous?

Yes.. I guess the Canon is more feasible option for me. Even i'm now getting used canon features little. One main reason I was attracted to Nikon is the newer range of cameras and its price. And I think canon 550d and 600 falls with in my budget range so i will check on those models.

The main reason I'm looking for new camera is that my brother is start using my rebel XS as his secondory camera and he really like the ease of taking a good pics with it. my budget can stretch from 50,000 - 150,000 (depends on who I purchase, the body only or with lens) The reason I look for Nikon is that new range D3000 - D5000 seems more affordable and easy to use. However from Canon side i'm femilier with 500D. And not sure what other models available at Entry level DSLRs. Most likely I will go for ebay because they don't charge much tax here at local customs (not sure if this changed at last budget. But previous budget they've reduced tax on cameras if i'm not mistaken)

Does anyone has hands on experience with Nikon D5000? I've noticed most reviews says this series does not have an Auto Focus motor built in. I thought focusing comes with the lens instead of the body. Anyhow, I'm looking for an upgrade to my Rebel XS. Planning to buy the body only and find telephoto range lens later. Another option I have is Canon EOS 500D.

My father had some what similar problem in same car (is this DX wagon). Also if he countinously drive around 2K rpm and take foot off the accelerator pedal, engine shut off suddenly. The problem was loosened pipe that connected to carburator. I'm not sure what exactly but its kind of fuel line connected to carburator. Not the main line but some sort of extra line...

First off all.. are you using chinese bulbs with blue tint? If so change those bulbs. Using high wattage bulbs than what manufactures recommend is not a good idea in my opinion. It will melt the holder.

This is why I rely on my Karma and Savings when it comes to life insurance too. They'll find 1000s of reasons not to pay rather than paying me.

If cars BMW is parked there and owner went to show room, I dont think BMW will bare any costs. Its just BMW can owner has to claim it from his insurance.
