Car Dies

Uditha88

Question

Friends,

Had an issue that car engine stall when in idle (N & P)

Mechanic cleaned IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) & issue went away out.

But it occured once recently again.

What would be the issue?

Extra Info:

1. Pumped fuel in the morning on that day that bad fuel case fired. (from La***s)

But travelled about 300 Km witout any issue.

(But i think if it's due to bad fuel, car should fail even when moving)

Expecting experts views.

Thanks.

I don’t know if it is the same issue. I had the same problem. After replacing the control unit car was working fine.

Better to check you Control Unit as well. This can happen due to that also.

Assume you are reffering to ECU. If so there are lots of basics to do before ECU change. As Mani said, simple TB clean up and use of fuel system cleaner like 3M/Wurth would be first things to do in my opinion.

Yes correct ECU.I was saying this because I had the same issues & after so called experts in our Auto industry(bas guys) & so many parts replaced with 70K less in my pocket I still did not have the resolution to the problem. With their solution it worked fine for 2-3 days. I travel daily to work. So this was a big problem for me.

After that I took it to La*. He did the check up & replaced the ECU.All fine after that worked as before with no issues. As I learn take it to a known expert to find the real issue other than so called experts.
