Sigh, wouldn't it be nice if we could just focus on the racing, just for a little bit? Anyway, here's a video SOME of you may enjoy

Sorry, I guess I was generalizing there.

Said car is no longer in the finance yard. Was bought and taken to Kandy, its fate will be yet decided. Hope it can be restored, very nearly bought it myself, but was talked out of it due to the sheer cost of such a project, and the unforeseen elements around a car in that condition. For a 1st BMW, the E32 would be similar to jumping into the prverbial deep end, but if you think you have the time patience and money to see such a project through, then go ahead! The 32 is a classic shape, that's been somewhat forgotten with the up-rise if the 34 and 30. E32 parts are not gonna be as easy to come by as the e34 or 30 Your best bet will be trolling ebay. Unless the car is in mint condition, you may very well regret your decision. Suspension is a very tricky part of these cars, once its all together its a pleasure to drive, but if not its an absolute pain to get it sorted. A lot of people buy BMs then run into trouble down the line and end up saying the brand is terrible and their cars unreliable. This is not the case, its just that a poorly maintained car (like any other) is going to give you far more problems. In a BMW however, these problems can be more complex and costly. I've learn't this the hard way I'm afraid. However, if you get a good car, you'll never look back, and (as long as you keep on top of maintenance) these cars are gonna give you more joy than any Jap box. Just my 2 cents

Yay, Finally the thread is up! Great work man, looks like one of those projects that will never really have an ending eh?

We'll be uploading onboard footage shortly, but found the CSN coverage of the SL-GT race here. Coincidentally the funniest part of the night for me was when the presenter got a bit overexcited @16:10

I've heard there are only 9 cars taking part in the GT3/GT4 event, as opposed to the initially suggested number of 20+... wonder how true it is. Will have wait and see I guess

Sounds good. I've never really liked most newer french cars, but I do fondly remember a 406 estate that my friend had of this model, back in England. It seemed like a really good deal, and was kitted out with almost everything imaginable. Hope you can turn this in to a progress thread in the future, it'll be very beneficial to those thinking of taking the Euro plunge!

Might as well join the club Top Speed: 190Km/h Machine: 1994 BMW 520i Mods: Nothing drastic or performance enhancing Road: E01 What prevented you from going further: Was just 11kmph away from the factory claimed top speed, and realised I was being a bit stupid and should calm down.

Its great to see how far the BMW club has come, even without much support from the agents. Myself and a few other AL members are slowly working on getting a more official body formed (not for the first time by the looks of this thread), but until then I hope we can continue hosting these meets, and possibly even another drive next year. P.S More pictures can be found on the AutoLanka FB page.

Just thought I'd revive this thread, and went through it from start to finish. Well the unofficial BMW club is still alive, and we had our last get together last Sunday. Its nice to see some pics from the first AL inspired meet in March 2011 (before my BMW time ), and compare them to our latest meet. We've come from just 6 cars turning out for meets to over 20 at the last one. To put that into perspective, the first meet up picture on this thread: And a few from last weekend's meet:

Oh goodness, you're here now too. Gentleman, meet my mentor of sorts Sorry for the lack of updates lately, should have something interesting soon...

Overall 10th. Not bad considering they were on the back foot, and made up some places in the stages The only downside is that DD won't be able to race at the CNR
-
According to the unofficial results DD was 16th at the end of Stage 1, but at the end of Stage 3 they've gained 3 places to 13th. Looking good

Now that truly is stunning! Hats off MD! Even without the rest of the little bits and pieces you can tell she's gonna be a real head turner.

Rupesh Chanaka (Uae Touring Car Championship)
esdeez replied to Chooti Putha's topic in International Events
You'll be glad to Know AutoLanka will be bringing their FB followers updates from Rupesh's races as they happen as well! Will try our best to publish some photos here too -
Lol, Great ending, gonna miss these, and a pretty deep meaning when it comes to Lewis being asked whether he wants to continue.... :/ Undoubtedly a thrilling finish to the season, but even though I was gunning for Alonso to take the championship, I must concede that Vettel's performace today was pretty spectacular. Even watching him in the post race interview, I felt he's matured a lot as a driver, especially as he probably thought he'd lost the championship battle so many times this season, not least during the final race. At the end of the day R*D B*LL had the best Car-Driver combo, but Alonso on the other hand was able to take a car that normally would have been uncompetitive to new heights, and this alone makes him (imo at least) 2012's best driver.

Qualifying about to start... Button was fastest in third practice, and he just tweeted that its raining for qualifying... Remember the Williams of Nico Hulkenberg on a drying track a couple of years back? This should be interesting.
