I'm no mechanic mate. Just watching videos like this one; Check 1:42 - 1:52.

My opinion is that should last for 100,000 kms unless someone drive like a maniac all the time. I don't think Honda would build that level of unreliable engine and have a black mark on their reputation. And its not only the engine that contribute to reliability right? Transmission also play a major role right? I'm no expert, but I believe no one buys a turbo engine / supercharge engine / high compression engine (like Skyactive) / Hybrid / CVT transmission vehicle for long term reliability.

I see a Supra concept in Toyota site. Wouldn't it be awesome if they bring it back and if it is at an **affordable price (With 1 shanida wasanawa win)? ?

Check this consumer report video. At time line 1:32 they were showing how the model used gear shifter knob to reduce the volume..

Quick advice bro. Yes I believe when the fuel economy drops from 16 to 11 its good to check the tuneup. But isn't 45,000kms is too early for the engine tuneup to go bad? What I meant was is you are using quality petrol + engine oil and air filter is changed as recommended how can a engine tuneup go bad that much? 45,000kms is too early for spark plug change or wheel alignment to go that bad right?

Mizyyyyy....!!! Good to see you on this forum..!! Yes, In few posts we discussed about Headlight upgrades. In short it was a pain aligning HID kits, then noticed fading on reflector (I guess due to access heat). Also had a tough time upgrading to 100w halogens. Had to change from wiring to a new alternator. I think its a better choice running with stock. I could not find a proper video to make my decision to buy Philips XtremeVision. Does not seem to have much difference. KMeeg (Kasun)

The tire sticker I posted was from a 4wd vehicle. So unless I select 4H or 4L the vehicle is powered by the rear wheels all the time. But mine says to run same tire pressure. I would say; 1. Simply follow what manufacturer specified. 2. I would never over inflate from the spec so it would effect braking distance. 3. I would never under inflate from the spec so I would get bad gas mileage and premature tire damage. ** The only time I would run on relatively low tire pressure is on a off-road situation where I need a bigger foot print so I won’t get stuck on sand or mud. But I try to avoid it to my best. Tires are damn expensive and I have many other expenses to think of..? Bottom line what I want to tell was keep the tire pressure as specified by manufacturers. Not from some article on Facebook or Google. Try not to buy cars that have different tire sizes front and rear so that you can do tire rotation without any problem.

Fixing running boards to my vehicle after lot of complains..? (skip to 2:05 for quick installation part. Didn't do a detail installation as its easy, just removing 6 bolts from each side and fix the running board.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?Aries Aero Tread Running Boards

Corolla hatch back coming for US market seems to have a better front look (just my opinion). So far looks like only 2.0L non turbo engine option.

I would show it to Mr. Dammika Frenando who is on Cotta Road Borella. He is by far the best person for engine tune-up (including carb engines). I know you are not asking for engine tune-up and looking for carb repair. But he will advice you exactly what to do and if any repair needed he will tell you whom to go.

Mo*il 10W-30 or 15W-40 Which suits for my 55k Mileage car?

I just asked from the dealership and you are correct. The tech at the dealership told me Full synthetic oil can be in shelf for 5 years. BTW, he was not a fan of Full synthetic oil. He said he prefer conventional oil and change in shorter intervals by him self (Oil + Filter). -

Ahaa.. I agree we can't treat them equally. In terms of Infotainment system, yes I've seen a issue with Infotainment system in Mazda3. So the Mazda 3 came with Bose Premium Sound system had issues like getting not-responded sometimes. So we decided to change the headunit. Interestingly we got to know (I mean saw) that the headunit came with it was Sanyo (we were little disappointing about the headunit brand). Anyways we installed a Pioneer NEX (can't remember the number) and having much better quality and no problems so far, despite the menu controls on the steering does not support.- 129 replies

10 hours ago, Nirosha said: @Supra_Natural Once I requested an importer about the Mazda 3 hatchback, he told that Mazda vehicles facing lot of sensor issues due to climate of the Sri Lanka. Is it true? Do you ever had such a problem with your Mazda? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My friends 2013 Mazda 3 was a good daily runner. Had few issues here and there. First the top cover of the dashboard was replaced by warranty (free of charge). It got little melted due to heat from sun. I think they replaced it with much better quality materiel. Sorry I don't have the paper work for that. Now the car is running around 45000 miles and had an issue with wiper motor. Attached is the estimate sheet for the wiper motor and few other issues.- 129 replies

Attached is what I see on Consumer Reports and JD power ratings. I believe this is true only for US market vehicles. So I guess it's not much relevant for the cars we buy in SL. Again I'm not expert on this, just putting out what I saw..- 129 replies

When I listen to some of the mechanic talks on Youtube on Mazda and Ford does not seem to have reliability compared to Toyota & Honda. (I Don't know, Just telling what I heard on YouTube. Eg - Consumer Reports, Scotty Kilmer, etc). Want I understood was when the engine have a high compression with Skyactive or Turbo the engines seems to wearout faster.BTW, I'm not a mechanic so I don't know how true what those Youtube videos are. Just for my safe side I just go with Toyota and Honda. I may be wrong, but I do use ConsumerReports reviews for some of my other purcheses as well. Even small items like a Rice Cooker. Don't have much money to waste, so try to buy a reliable item and save money..- 129 replies

In terms of my personal preference for reliability I would choose these 2 from your list. But still not a fan of small turbo engines when I look for reliability. Can't think of a better vehicle than a Corolla with a natural aspirated engine coupled to a standard transmission or a non-cvt transmission.- 129 replies

For A/T tires I'm very happy with BFG KO2 (load rating C). Did not go for the 10ply load E as this is my daily driver so didn't want to mess up the mpg and comfort. With BFG KO2 Load C A/Ts (running at 40 psi) noise level is almost closer to stock street tires and did not see any noticeable mpg drop.

First of all I have not work in JKCS, but I know many good people moved to JKCS. My 2 cents is you cannot judge the culture or flexibility by company. For example in some companies it depends from team to team. My thing is I would adapt to the environment and help one another and enjoy life. I've too seen some shitty people where I work but still smile with them and carry on with it.. (just a thought) On a side note, I dont think this is the right forum to ask these kind of stuff. I'm pretty sure if you are in the lead level you should be having lot of contacts working in all these places. Better to ask your friends personally and I believe they will give honest opinion rather than an opinion given from a person you don't know. Even when I don't work in JKCS i could have made up a nice story easily right? Also when you are planning to join as Lead, working on the items like better estimates, clear requirements, good quality (code and test) with efficient cost you can make a good culture and flexibility within your team right? Anyways good luck mate, Wish you the best for your career.. KMeeg.

Anybody thought about Kia reliability? Please ignore the brands not available in SL, my point is Kia is coming strong with their products. https://www.consumerreports.org/car-reliability-owner-satisfaction/car-brands-reliability-how-they-stack-up/
