1. I wonder what other types of chilli powder are there apart from "powdered chilli powder".
2. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/16585-vehicle-duty-of-upcoming-interim-budget/?hl=%2Binterim+%2Bbudget
3. I've noticed this set of car since a very long time. Clearly seen when travelling by bus from Pitakotte towards Ethul Kotte. Everyone is acting as if the vehicles were hidden and discovered when they were actually rotting away out in the open where everyone can see. What a waste of cars.
4. Since OP has compared the prices of the cars themselves, let me point this out: I think a lot of people forget that the CS1 was not the only Lancer in the CS series. So they try to compare the CS1 with everything else (i.e the Axela) when there are obvious differences between the two (1.3L on the CS1 versus the 1.5L on the Axela). The CS2 (1.5L engine) and CS3 (1.6L engine) Lancers are more compatible with the Mazda Axela. So are the prices. Another factor is the trim level. The CS Lancer came with GL and GLX badges, where GLX is the fully loaded version. So a CS1 GL Lancer will be significantly cheaper when compared to a CS3 GLX.
5. True. They're gossip sites after all. None of the official news sites/channels even said anything about the history of the car as far as I know. On more exciting (and official) news, fuel prices are down! 92 Octane by 33 and Diesel by 16!
6. I'm not exactly sure about the the penalties applied in such a situation. The police probably will contact the original owner of the plates and try to establish if the number was given with the consent of the original owner. Agreed The Don. The thing is, this car was driven off the track as well according to news. That article just confirmed what I said before. It clearly says that the car had met with an accident and the plates were changed AGAIN before it was put on the road.
7. Hmm. My comment was based on the following article: http://www.lankahotnews.net/2015/01/racing-car-belongs-to-rohitha-rajapaksa.html?m=1
8. Read on a news site that a guy in Minuwangoda (who claims to be the owner) had stated that the car was locally assembled, as an excuse for why it was never registered. So the KE plates are fake. And this is the very car that met with an accident with a Prado, resulting in significant damage to the front end. Anyway, poor car. Hope something good will happen to it.
9. Polishing plastic headlights is quite different from polishing a glass windscreen. You will end up ruining your windscreen if the same method is tried with the windscreen.
10. Our good old Sylvi Wijesinghe is the one to contact. Although I do not have personal experience with his work, I read on the forum that his work is pretty good. He does windscreen polishing (which will address your issue) and crack repair. I'm sure he himself shared his contact details here more than once.
11. The news articles everywhere said "Lamborghini". Guess all fast cars are "Lamborghini"s for some. So here it is (photos from Lankadeepa):
12. Welcome to the forum and thanks for taking the time to share your experience. Wish I had the equipment (and was brave enough) to try this on my own.
13. Is that guy posing for the photo without using the fire extinguisher in his hand?
14. I'm with Crosswind on this. Get the plugs and the ignition system checked out. Rapid slow down and rough idle does sound like a cylinder not working properly. If the ignition system is fine, a diagnostic scan would give enough information to determine the cause.
15. Another one: http://newsfirst.lk/english/2015/01/van-catches-fire-southern-expressway/72223 Looks like a H100
16. Yes, still the intended behaviour because there still isn't a way to manage a separate set of bookmarks for incognito mode. So they're shared. The AutoComplete suggestions are from your browsing history + bookmarks. That's the reason they appear as suggestions. So do not bookmark any website you wish to access only in incognito, because they are visible in normal mode.Did you guys know about the Dinosaur game in Chrome? http://mobile.geek.com/latest/254765-chromes-answer-to-a-network-error-is-an-infinite-runner-dinosaur-game?origref=https:%2F%2Fwww.google.com.au%2F The game is available in the mobile version of Chrome as well. Just touch instead of pressing space.

Do you know if this was sorted out too?

I think that is the intended behaviour Watchman. Bookmarks are shared across the browser regardless of whether browsed in normal mode or incognito. So the practice should be to never bookmark a site that is to be accessed purely in incognito mode.
18. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="The Don" data-cid="270524" data-time="1421082847">

They used to have an option clear browsing history on exist. I always had this on until the B'stards removed the option and introduced this incognito option instead...

Oh the frustration. IE still has "Clear history on exit" although Incognito has become more "secure" over the years. Initially incognito had some issues where it still recorded the site URLs when frequently visited in incognito mode. I believe it has been fixed now.
19. Shouldn't have trusted the same guy with your ECU when he couldn't even work on an alternator carefully. Anyway, do the fans come on even when the accelerator is slightly pressed? Or do you have to rev a bit hard to get them to turn on? Why I'm asking is because when the brushes wear out, the fans need a small push to get going. When you rev hard, the vibration might move the fan a position where the armature makes contact with the brush and starts working. But for this to happen, both the fans should have been wired directly (which is wrong) + both should have worn out brushes. Slim chance, yet a possibility. To check if this is the case, you can start the car and manually rotate the fan blades to see if they start working (be extremely careful).
20. Good to know that we can source Butyl tape locally. It'll definitely be of use for restoration projects. Most older cars never came with the waterproofing sheets behind the upholstery.
21. You're right The Don. I've taken off the upholstery of my CS3 a couple of times to access the central locking actuators and to lubricate the power shutter mechanisms etc. and always ended up putting back the plastic cover as it was. If you're careful when removing, the butyl paste will still be re-usable. However, the story was a bit different in my 30 year old Lancer A72. Maybe the paste was too old, it was hardened because it just didn't stick in some spots. This is when I tried to find out if I can get this stuff locally. After being unsuccessful, I used dots of black Silicone glue on places that didn't stick.
22. Having owned two black cars, I think black is one of the most difficult colours to maintain. Some of the things you can do to prevent from scratching the paint while washing the car are: 1. Never use a cloth or duster to remove dust on the car. If the car is dusty, wash it. 2. If you are washing a dusty\muddy car, make sure you rinse away the dust\mud before running a sponge or cloth over the paint. 3. After rubbing off mud, rinse the cloth\sponge well to avoid running the same cloth on other areas. 4. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the car.
23. Blu Tac would be my recommendation. I don't think you'll have the problem of the seal falling off because it will be firmly sandwiched between the body and the upholstery. Noleak tends to harden and impossible to remove unless something like kerosene is used. So the plastic will probably tear the next time you need to remove it. If you want the real thing, it's called "Butyl Tape". Not sure if it can be sourced locally though.
24. I think I've shared my experience before, but just to let you guys know how I solved my problem: I have had rat problems forever! Initially, I really had no permanent solution apart from parking the car elsewhere overnight to disrupt their patterns. I have gotten rid of many rats and after a few months, another one comes by and turns my car's fresh air vent into their nest (and toilet). But eventually stopped them by sealing off the fresh air vent, after I found out that it's the only way they got into the car as The Don has mentioned above. To give you a glimpse of what they had once built inside my AC motor compartment: To prevent them from returning, I sealed off the fresh air vent using a mesh. It was a half-a-day DIY project and I haven't had rat problems (inside the car) since then. I was lucky enough to not have rats inside the car (they only made it to the AC motor chamber but never got into the car because all vents were too small to get through). So I opened up the car like this and sealed it off! End of problem. I have also tried those Mortein rat poison cubes and they worked up to some extent. I do have a dog and have not had problems with it eating the rat poison.
