  1. I would recommend any beat up jap over this heap of junk. I've had the pleasure of taking a ride in a Kwid (Uber) couple of years back, even during that time the car was a complete wreck (It couldn't have been much older). Its not spacious, comfort, safe, heck doesn't even look that good (I know, personal preference). Plus, finding spares must be difficult for this as well. Since no recon parts are available, accident repairs could be costly. Hence insurance premium for these cars might be higher than of the usual. I'd prefer an Indian alto over this, as that's somewhat time tested car in that segment. Why would someone want to spend two million rupees for a car like this is actually beyond me. Doest make any sense, financially or otherwise.
  2. Good inspiration.. ha ha ha
  3. Glad to see you back here again. Was wondering what happened to you.
  4. What petrol does outlander require to run? 92 or 95 and who recommend to change this all without proper diagnosis of the problem. You might’ve paid a hefty price for all of this by now.
  5. How’s the sound quality of the new unit? Does it do justice to the Rockford sound system? I’m also in two minds to upgrade to an android one or not. My main concern is sound quality. Its great that you shared the part details of the steering controls as well. Did you order that from the alibaba as well? How much the harness and the part cost? I think that part is the same for Lancer EX as well.
  6. Here you go..
  7. Lol, the only person I got to personally know out of these bunch is Komi, so I'm bit up to date about him . Wonder why I didnt see Magnums posts. Or did I?? not sure... Enjoyed @VVTi's posts as he had a good sense of humor and knowledge on cars. I still remember one of his posts about st peters and lips lol.. let me find it out if possible for old times sake.
  8. Whoa it’s been over 5 years since Komi dropped out ?? Does anyone know what happened to jdnet, Ripper, vvti, tbt, shitarox & magnum?? Andrew is also not active. Saw few posts of MD recently and Sylvi is also back. Does anyone remember californican??? My god those days. Interesting times !!!
  9. Facts vs Personal preference. I think we can establish the following with regard to the matter in hand. 1. There's no harm in driving away after starting the car without putting much of a strain to the Engine. 2. If you can spare the time, you can opt to wait till the car warms up/lubricate the engine block etc...
  10. Not only SG bung, I've read many US, EU articles as well and seen you tube videos confirming that its pointless waiting for car to warm up before driving it in cold start. Anyways, Lets see what others have to say about this.
  11. Its not necessary for modern cars. Read the below article. https://www.torque.com.sg/advice/do-you-need-to-warm-up-your-car/
  12. Ha ha apparently... however not sure whether it’s unnecessary though. Maybe that’s a fail safe sort of design.
  13. Wow ?, this is a good find. I never bothered to check in depth to this. Good that it’s confirmed. @Davy can you share the above post as well as the other post which explain the issue to the Lancer EX repair thread as well. Might be useful to some who’s referring that thread for repair details.
  14. Quick google search prompt me the below article which explains the process. https://gmtnation.com/forums/threads/air-conditioner-clutch-shim-removal.17403/
  15. Nope, apparently there are few rings. He just removed one. He said that in design it comes in this way to accommodate this fix.

  17. Ha ha definitely, this cost me just 300 rupees..
  18. It’s not a modification per say, fairly a simple fix. As far as I can say, the AC system works as it intended to work. The ASX has auto climate control. Didn’t see much of a different between both vehicles in AC wise. However in comfort, power, handling and overall driving pleasure wise, the Lancer is way ahead of the ASX. Driving that vehicle made me question the value addition the ASX or any other mid range SUV could give over a Sedan like ours. I don’t see any good point over the sedan when compared those vehicles. Just pure waste of money. I would pick a Lancer EX or a Mazda 6 over any mid range SUV at this juncture.
  19. Not sure this is the same issue but I’ve experienced something of similar nature. This was when I bought the EX, AC worked fine in the first day and I noticed A/C dropping during city run on the next day. My first observation was that when driven in very hot conditions (like in city traffic) for a while, the compressor clutch stopped engaging. when this was referred to my AC mechanic, he instantly identified the problem. The solution was to remove a metal o-ring from the compressor clutch assembly. He said that due to metal expansion when getting heated , clutch moves further away from the coil thus preventing the magnetic bond. He further said that in time as the compressor wears off, this happens. Removing the metal ring solved the issue and it never surfaced. I don’t know whether something of this sort causing your problem as well. Reading your symptoms, It seems the culprit is the compressor. So better to start from there. However replacing the cooler was a total unnecessary thing in my opinion....
  20. You are correct, sorry for the misinformed post. When I replace tires I usually do an alignment as well (in addition to the balancing of wheels) just so I don’t have to worry about going to the tire shop for another 5000kms. Mere for time saving. Maybe back in my mind I was having this thought when I typed that post. Didn’t occur to me that it’s misleading and not relevant. Thank you for pointing that out @Kavvz. Much appreciate it ?.
  21. Yes machang, gonna get it done with my guy. Thinking of importing the original bushes & source the link stabilizers locally. No point in going to agent for these things.
  22. Ha ha yes , I very well know what to do.. Anyways, had to ditch the Lancer for the trip as I couldn’t replace the tires on time. Figured it’s not that safe to drive the car there as the condition of the tires are not suited to a trip like that. Instead drove this baby. This one belongs to one of the friends who joined the trip with us.He ran the shotgun and let me drive the entire trip. Would’ve enjoyed the Lancer much over the ASX cuz SUVs don’t handle bends well. Anyways I’m planning to first do the suspension repair and then replace the tires now. Otherwise I’m gonna have to align the wheels twice.
  23. Yup, she’s a daily runner ?...
  24. 6.Front Brake Pad Replacement Previous owner of the car had changed the brake pads at 94,000kms in 2017. This has been done at the agent and back then they've charged Rs.16,580/- for the pad set and Rs.1,443/- as labour. After almost 60,000 kms (58,900kms to be exact) I decided to change the brake pads as they were worn out pretty bad and I had a trip planned to visit Nuwara Eliya. Got it done last Friday at Unit#d Mot#rs - Orugodawatte. The prices are as follows, Brake Pads - Rs.18,810/64 Labour,Lathe & Vat - Rs.4,444/64 So the prices of parts have increased about Rs.2,200/- and Labour about Rs.600/- for three years. They recommended to replace two caliper pins and brake shims soon as they've worn out. Gonna talk to my mechanic about it later. Found out that lower arm bushes are kaput and arm links too needs to be replaced. My tires barely has thread. Needs to replace them as well. f**k me side ways!!!!
