    Jaguar S Type

Jags are good vehicles, but they are not as reliable as the beemers or the mercs.. therefore costly to maintain... I'v had a x-type 2.5 AWD for the past 8 years, its a nice car to drive around.. and pls don't compare these to Japs...
  2. Second hand Japanese hybrids will succeed if the agents decides to bring down brand new hybrids to Sri Lanka, if not it would fail. Think only Porsche is bringing down the Hydrid version of their cars! and they have trained personel to maintain them. Other European manufactures aready making hybrids (Merc + BMW) Jagaur very soon are launching one and will be available in Sri Lanka. Realisticly Japanese Car manufacturers think that Sri Lanka is a extremely under developed country where people are in mud huts barking at each other, thats why they don't send the luxury models (or spec'd versions) to Sri Lanka therefore Toyota and Honda may newer bring down Hybrids!
  3. This is what people need to understand, the higher the lumen, the further light travels. Professional HID converstion kit manufacturers use this and many Chinese brand have no clue, or the retailers have no clue when selling them to explain to the end users. 4. I'm using Philips genuine 6000K H7 coversion kit brought from ebay for around 25 grand. fixed them my self and did not require alignment at all. they are better than the genuine bi-xenons that I have in my other car.
  5. give it a another year and the Cayenne Turbo S would be out!!!!
  6. Went to Toyota today... they had a metallic black.. quoted 20.5 million... its got 5 camera's... Taste is ones own.. I didn't go for the Toyota, but hey its your money, what matters is you like it or not...
  7. no offense, but think we should appreciate the work he has put in... Even though we are a poor countries we all have a thing for exotic beasts... no matter where you go, whether it be Bangladesh, India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam.... (Burma exception) we all got the elite driving real exotics even though we always have to face a much higher price and bad after sales services. Most ppl argue that all these exotics are from blood/black money but to be honest most of it just isn't... they only say that because they don't want to...
  8. nice work fahd, looks like you put in a lot of effort into all these.. I always think the South Asians have a better taste in vehicles than others.. even in London if you see a Ferrari 8 out of 10 times its a South Asian... great work keep uploading more... thanks mate..
  9. BMW X6 is not really a SUV its an SAC (Sports Activity Coupe)so do not complete with SUV's..
  10. well to be honest it does... I'm not taking Sri Lanka into concideration here, but say you are to drive in a perfect section of the Autobahn say from Nürburg to Frankfurt. If you are in a X5 doing 250kmph the Cayenne would over take you quiet easily. They both on paper have the same accelaration...
  11. Here are the facts -: BMW X5M and X6M (Same Stats) Top speed (mph) 155 Acceleration 0-62 mph (sec) 4.7 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Top speed 278 km/h (173 mph) Acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h (0 - 62 mph) 4.7 s Acceleration from 0 - 160 kmh (0 - 99 mph) 10.5 s I rest my case!
  12. Same acceleration, but still the cayenne is faster... handles better and off road its better..
  13. The Cayenne is longer than the Prado. The Cayenne is 4.846 mm and the Prado is 4,760 mm... better ground clearance too with 273mm to the Cayenne and 215 mm to the Prado, but I See what you mean, the Cayenne looks small and doesn't have 7 seats... but Since you don't not mind getting a pre owned or parallel import try to get down a Merc GL... it might be what you need, not seen one here or check how much it costs but worth a try if you are in the market for a Similar car... or even a Q7, but to be honest Audi did not do well in SL, reputation vise... too many sold in ##### for price of crisps.. My Opinion do not go for a Toyota Prado, you wouldn't have the warranty, its not good off road, and everyone who have no clue about cars buy one.. plus its everywhere so its not exclusive..
  14. mate SRT-8 got 465 hp from a 6.4 L Hemi V8 and Porsche Cayenne Hybrid got nearly 400 hp from a 3 L V6? Don't even try to compare it to the Cayenne Turbo...
  15. Well not as fast mate... its one thing getting a stock car from 0-60 in 5 secs and something els to get it in 4.4 secs... thats supercar zone..
  16. Well, to those who think that the Porsche is a unreliable car, well it is one of the most reliable brands in the world atm (with a extendable 10 year warranty). They are known to have produced a supercar that can be driven everyday. Even though Porsche only built the Cayenne as a profit making ploy, the second generation is actually a proper Porsche feeling to it. And to me its better looking than its competitors but taste is to ones own and I'm not going to argue on that, and one to one there isn't much as Porsche normaly only complete with Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lambo and Masarati. Since non of them still make a SUV it has to complete with other European Cars, and there is notting to beat the Porsche on Performance or even come close to it. On to the Hybrids, well Porsche are first build a working Hybrid more than a century ago!!! not Toyota, even though they have mastered it. Cayenne Hybrid is not all that cheap after the Tax increases, its around 20mil for a basic, and a 4 month waiting list. The Q7 Patrol is 21mil and a 7 month waiting list. But end of the day there is notting quiet like a Porsche! when someone is to ask for the your car what is better sounding Porsche, Merc, BMW or a Audi?
  17. a very sensible opinion...
  18. Searched that way and found about it was every informative, but the issue there was that it was a old thread, what happened to me was a recent one, the police said that the law was changed recently (2010). however newer read or herd about it myself.
  19. hehehehe and they increase that noise by honking when coming near every bus stop for no apparent reason
  20. Don't think my car is farting bro, in my point of view forums are for ppl to get help and help other members and not to mock them.
  21. well machan, my car came with the current exhaust from Japan and I don't think its illegal there or any other country for that matter, however once the police caught me and gave a hard time, but managed to get a way with it. However I don't like my current exhaust and the genuine ones are extremely hard to find and every expensive cos of that I'm looking at a Blitz Nur Spec R, and that is surely much loader than at and 96 dB. They are completely legal in both Japan and UK. But the local police don't really understand these values, but just want to know if there is a place where I can get a legal certificate that prove that the exhaust are legal in Sri Lanka so that the police can't bug me?
  22. well I haven't, tried searching the site, couldn't find anything on legal dB...
  23. Guy just need your advise on whether the Sri Lankan govt has banned all loud exhaust? This is because I recently got stopped by cops for having a beat silencer, but mine is not even as loud as a tuk tuk... I asked them whats the legal limit in dB (decibel) and they had know clue cos most other countries are fine with 96 dB... Sri Lanka police thinks that any modified exhaust is banned when viking buses and tuk tuks are much louder.. just want to know comments on this
  24. you can get it online at ebay, I got for mine.. but be aware there are philips original and fake. They ship it through DHL or EMS and get here in 2- 4 days.. the Original is about Rs. 25,000 and there is another one which I got from ebay was said to be from Germany, Frankfurt were Rs.15,000 with Fedex delivery in 2 days I think are fake, or much lower quality than the originals I got from Hong Kong which are definitely genuine cos there is a code to check it but were around RS.25,000 + 2000 taxes in SL.
  25. the worse part is when ppl spend 10+ million on a used Jap SUV when they can buy the same SUV with a better spec patrol for less than 6 million... I own a Jag and a Sti, and every bloody day get asked the question "so how is the fuel economy?" and there is notting more that annoys me.. Trust me on thi10s1, ppl think say that European diesels are better, to be honest u will not achieve 50mpg ever even highway driving, thanks to rent a car companies I have driven the very latest BMW 1/3 series diesel, Passart/Polo/corsa/Bravo TDI all of them stating over 50mpg and best I have ever got was around 35 to 40 mpg on highways it wasn't peddle to metal driving, but at normal speeds... Don't get me wrong here modern diesels are definitely better than patrols when it comes fuel consumption and performance, therefore given a diesel for the same price as a patrol I would without a bout go for a diesel.
