http://www.pradopoint.com/viewtopic.php?t=...asc&start=0 Above thread is also very intresting, Max & DON I have a Isuzu 4.8Ltr Common Rail Truck and after 10,000 km of use over here with Normal Diesel the Filter Light came on. Took the agents and they said our Fuel is f**ked up and that we need to pump Super Diesel but said that Japs have tested it and even the super Diesel is not even near to EURO 2.
-
Infact DON the Landcruiser pick up does not come with the D4D engine over here, What is sold by toyota over here has the 1HZ which has a Distribution Type Fuel Injection.
-
I was just going about reading on Toyota D4D engines and came about on this thread. http://www.pradopoint.com/viewtopic.php?t=3701 I think its the fuel which affects the injectors ? Does any one know if we have EURO 2 or 4 COMPLIANT DIESEL.

This is what happens to people who come to the PUBLIC EYE. Until you perform well you are in the Hearts and Minds of everyone. Once your Talents are gone you are another obsolete computer. ( Its Life ) Unlike the past Todays Media is there to make a Killing. Its all about ratings and a stupid damn RAT RACE. At the end of the Day some dude makes money out of SMS and kills our Wonderful Time by making us watch a Stupid Pro gramme. More you are in the PUBLIC EYE , More the People who want you down. Its all about being Intelligent and Managing Your Self. Also one more note which i seriously disagree. Mendis our Latest Cricketer got was promoted to LT. This is a Nice Move. But does anyone understand there are so many Brave Soldiers in the Battle Field who takes wickets everyday with their life defending our country. Well they may not be shown on live TV for their bravery for us to enjoy on Sunday evening while having a beer ? Just a Thought !!!

No bro those are normal retail prices. Machan infact there is a rumour going on saying that Single Cabs will not be allowed under lorry duty which means the prices will go up sky hi. Not sure how true this is. Also for a person who buy a Landrover Singlecab can easily fit the Rear Door converion and can change numbers from L to K numbers thus evading duty. This is what i have heard from a Jeep Guy. Dont know how true this is. Machan in Dubai do you get the 1HZ or the 4.5 Turbo D4D ? D4D 4.5 V8 Turbo is a Rocker. It seems they only get it in Aussie some few countries in the Polynesian Islands.

LR will always be in my mind. I am sure the New Defender with the Ford 2.5 CRTD Duratec engine will be having less issues. Anyway I went through this Important Thread which was on If you can please read this forums. http://forums.overlander.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=42197 This is filled with LANDY and CRUISER fans. So its a 50/50 If the Landrover Was Brand New and Had a Two Year warranty it would have been my first Preference.

Yeah Bro. Its better to be out of colombo than in colombo. Hope LTTE does not start a string of bus bombs to scare away all the VVIP. i head our defense sources say to be extra vigilant.
-
Yeah Bro New Off roaders tend to look more like softroaders. All Time Favorites are the 40 series 70 series and the 80 series which in design still looks mean. New Nissan Navara and the Pathfinder does look hot though. Also i have seen very few Merc Gwagons ( UGLY) over here, but they have been rated some of best off roaders of time.

Thanks Cruiser Head. Surely will keep in contact. love the 78's my self. have so many posters in my room. By the way I forgot to mention about the Mitusbishi Triton too from UML It looks much better than the HILUX but only problem its engine for Singlecab is the 4D56 which i feel is underpowered. By the way one of freinds have brought a Hilux Single Cab 2x2 and its does 14 per litre on 2.5 D4D which is amazing,

I am not sure whose jeep this is. But Two of them are used for Leopard Safaris,

Thanks Bro. Nothing Much Original Land cruiser Snorkel - WARN 9000 WINCH. ARB Bull Bar ( I dont like it that much ) can anyone recomend something which looks much better ? Canopy and Rear Seating for 10 People ( Which means it can carry 12- 13 people without a problem ) Must check how the tires are. May be later some good mud tires. And just like KLM said a good Dirt Bike.

After many months of Reading ( Hrs and Hrs on the Web ) and Getting opinions from Drivers and Mechanics and from my close freinds and thanks to a bit of VODKA i finally Decided What to buy. Yeah and After Many Sleepless Nights. Seriously Autolanka Members Lakshan and Devindz Helped me a Lot. just like everyone i weigh every bit of spec and info before i decided. Ok I opted for Many Vehicles Landrover Defender 110 TD5 Single Cab - Without Canopy - From EURO MOTORS - No Warranty 70000 miles on it. YOM 2003 3.4 MIL Landcruiser Single Cab 4.2 Straight 6 Without Canopy 50000 KM or 2 YEAR WARRANTY - 0 Miles YOM 2008 JAPAN 4 MIL TOYOTA Toyota Hilux Single Cab 2.5 Common Rail Turbo 40000 KM or 2 YEAR WARRANTY - YOM 2008 THAILAND 2.8 MIL TOYOTA Mazda BT 50 Single Cab 2.5 Turbo 40000 KM or 2 YEAR WARRANTY - YOM 2007 THAILAND 2.6 MIL CARMART Land rover was my First Preference, and was just crazy over it. Power was good. Looks were good, My only problem was reliability and not being able to put in water. I was considering this vehicale for Goods Carrying / Towing and Serious Offroading. Every person whom i spoke to said that its a great vehicale and had to be towed at least 2-3 occasions. But i still follow up on every single point to check it out. Landcruiser - Looks did not suit me - But the power and the reliability did. Landcruiser 70 series have been a child hood dream but like the 75 and 78 models more than the new one. specialy with front fenders no more it had lost its macho look. being brand new and having a 2 year warranty made me think of it seriously. Only down side was that it was too expensive for my budget. I drove this and it was just awesome. Rear tends to wag at bends when you power it up. Next was the Hilux Single Cab. This i would recommend to any one. Its Damn worth it. If you have 28 and want a off roader get it, only cons were i did not like the look of it., It had a bit of sissie look to it. And Cabin was A +++. Its just like a car or the prado. Drove it power is good but it seems when it comes to tough off roading power lets you down. wished they had the 3.0 D4D on this. Also ground clearance is not enough. Price is super at 28 Next was the BT 50 Single Cab. I called Carmart - they told they will email me quotation which they never did. It may be a Good Vehicale but i guess why bother to buy one if they are not intrested in selling one. After Doing so much research on the Landy / Cruiser and the Hilux i was unable to sleep for 3 -4 weeks. I then decided to drink VODKA bit at least to get to the final conclusion. It was give or take. And i met this Chap who ownes almost every brand of jeep. A 2 Montero / 4 Landcruisers and 2 Landrovers. So i made the Decision. Also very Important to note that I also took KLMs Word of Advice on This, KLM as a person only speaks less but whatever he utters is pretty carefully thought about and is backed by lots of experience and research. TAKING DELIVERY OF THE BABY ON WEDNESDAY.

31 New Bullet / Bomb Proof Vehicles For Vips This Week
Velocity posted a topic in General Automotive
Wednesday, 9 July 2008 - 3:35 AM SL Time www.lankanewspapers.com The government has imported 31 bullet proof vehicles for the use of parliamentarians at a cost of 8.6 million US dollars, Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardena told parliament yesterday. Mr Gunawardena made the disclosure responding to a question by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake. He said 15 of these vehicles had been bought for 3.7 million Euros inclusive of duty, 12 for 1.8 million US dollars, and four for 1.3 million US dollars. The government, however, declined to reveal the names of those who were using these bullet proof vehicles citing security reasons. The Chief government Whip said proper tender procedures had been followed before importing the vehicles. These vehicles were purchased from Guana International, Ltd, England, M/s Nanigure International GMBH, Germany, M/s Daimler Chrysler AG Stvttgurt, Germany, Global Fleet Sales Co Ltd, Thailand, Svos Spol Syo, Czech Republic and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, India. Gunawardena said the government had taken all possible steps to ensure the security of opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe when Mr. Karunanayake asked whether at least one of those bullet proof vehicles had been provided to Mr. Wickremesinghe. While thanking the government for providing security, Mr. Wickremasinghe charged that his security officials were being questioned over anonymous petitions sent against them. -
Infact Andy Drive is a Big +++ for me too, I drove so many times to Matara. But only problem which found out was that because our roads are not devided like US highways which means busses and trucks come on the wrong side. This is bit of issue when you are reving all the way up to 9000 rpm on the bends and you suddenly see a Leyland Bus on your Face. Its bit tough to handle corners when you are unsure if something is coming from the wrong side. But if you know bends give a awesome adrenalin rush.

Got it. I will get it aranged.
