bro i am using a Original Landrover engine ( 18J coupled with a LT 77 gearbox) not the freindliest on the foot but trust me that engine has taken me 5000km just for past month. its just a wonder. nothing like having a original engine. Also there is an engine called Mitsubishi 4DR6 which original came with turbo. ( Again correct me if i am wrong )
-
landy del, just check if your engine is actually a 4Dr5 engine, Can you post a picture of the engine, not to be rude, but i think your chassis is a genuine 110 chassis. Even the engine might be a 12J. I think book they have used is a series book on your vehicale, ( somes time might have come as petrol and later coverted to diesel ) sorry but without looking at the chassis i cannot tell this ? Diff lock only came for 110 models not series model, Also from what i know 4Dr5 engines cannot be couple with LT77 gear boxes ( lakshan correct me if i am wrong ) A engine which the LT 77 gear box can direct fit would be the Trooper 2.8 lite turbo engine. ( Good power ) again bro post me a pic of the engine and also chasis underneath so i can give you a diagnosis.

RESALE VALUE = 50 % After 3-4 years. Sorry but its Sri Lanka. Car is really good. i have the older version. New one is really Really good, If you are buying the car for an investment buy a Toyota. If you are buying a car for comfort and super interior and performance of the 1.6 liter category buy the Kia or wait for the New Hyundai Elantra.

+ 1 regarding the bum employees. by the way i had to buy the poor mans toyota because of a auto parts project. At that time it was highest selling sedan in korea, finland and netherlands.

2010 & 2011 Kia Sorento Owners What Do You Think Of Your Suv?
Velocity replied to YesinLegend's topic in General Automotive
Not the door locks any way bro. What effects the 2nd hand market really will be parts support. i had an accident and it took 3 months to get the fender and the bonnet. until then car was just lying in the Garage. They also sometimes never had oil filters and air filters in stock. they recomended me to buy VIC. Also the fact is that part support after this model goes out of production. ample parts means 2nd owner will not worry about buying it. -
Its noted that many Hilux Singles Cabs tend to fishtail when braking in wet weather. I have tried to identify why this problem is but feels its due to Load Sensing Proptioning Valve being adjusted to a different caliberation as its not an export model. If possible any owners will be able to adjust this at Toyota as they have the best possible knowledge regarding this. most vigo cabs are not used for Heavy Duty purposes hence carrying no load at all. ( This vehicale was designed to carry a load ) Please check the following link for more info. http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/brake08.pdf

2010 & 2011 Kia Sorento Owners What Do You Think Of Your Suv?

What we expect and reality would be different. So its a risk we have to make with our own money. how much ever we speculate and we guess we can sell for this amount its not going to happen and with kia i learnt the hardway, Some cars are worth loosing a lot if its a worth and special to you. After saleswise they do really suck. they dont even have proper place to do a service. The warranty is surely a + point. -
2010 & 2011 Kia Sorento Owners What Do You Think Of Your Suv?

I am currently a kia cerato owner. Kia looks so good and they are so well built. I have done 60000km for the last year. 1 ) with the 1st 100km my Power Steering leaked on the way to watch Fox Hill Races. Power Steering Pump nut was loose. 2 ) After 1 years the Front left and rights power shutters failed, Motor Cost is around 18,000. The CAR IS SOLID AND WELL BUILT. DOES VERY WELL ON FUEL. BUT my problem is 2nd Hand market. Kia Agents itself valued my car at 45 % less after 6 years. So what can you expect more from them. please note that you buy vehicale at 50 lacks. after 5 years value goes down 50 %. That is 5 Lacks each year. Thats a lot of depriciation. If you are willing to sacrifice that much for Built Quality and Design well go with a kia. I have enjoyed my kia driving a lot and it handles well too.it does very well on fuel for 1600cc engine. If you think 50 % Depreciation is bad on your pocket stay with another brand. Please also note that how much ever we buy a new design after 5 years it will be old design and when we want to go for another vehicale we have to put extra 2.5 Mil to buy another new vehicale. So decide wisely. -
You are asking about Reliability and Capability of a jeep. Can you tell me your purpose of use. What type of offroading are you trying to do ? Extreme jungle Trekking ( Lots of Mud - Lots of Bonnet level water Lots of Winching ( 1 - 2 Hrs ) Slopes and Hills and deep ruts which you do not see in the night and you take them at a speed ) (20-40 % of Its vehicale life) Light Offroading - Pathways which have average of the above. No winching. Above the Tire level water, and lesser ruts and pot holes. 10-15 % of its vehicale life. You see when you talk about reliability you have to choose between the above. I own a defender and i have done lot of extreme offroading ( Not competition ) and i dont want to damage my vehicales. Defender is one of the most capable off roaders i have driven and i am in so much love with it. I have damaged my engine twice because i have not had a snorkel and within 1 year i have spent almost 200000 bucks repairing the engine. ( Its 18J Singapore Army ) Compared to my cruiser my defender covers 80 % of a muddy track without a winch. My cruiser really fails in the mud. But reliabilty issues come only when you do not maintain the vehicale properly after off roading. for example alnternators and starter motors have to be serviced after deep water wading. Differiantials and Tranfer and Gear Box Oils have to be changed. even Hubs greased. I have a freind who has a puma and has lifted the ecu so that water does not get into it. How ever common rails will have issues if you take them on deep water crossings. Not only engine but your dash board meters even may start coroding. If you want to do extreme offroading go for a older defender. 300 tdi is ideal. ( Not fancy dressed up once though ) You will have enough parts you will not get burnt ( Money) if you do a mistake. defender maintenance will be a lot surely. But will not be that much if you do light off roading. Get a Defender and enjoy it every moment.

Had brought a Cerato Brand New from the Agents. 6 years after i go to them asking for a valuation. Purchase price was 3.1 mil. Valuation was 1.6 mil. I was planing on buying the New Cerato. But then i thought why spend 3.7 Mil and after 5 years have the value halved by 50 %. The company MD who had a fat ass the size of his brain even didnt want to talk to me saying that he was busy with a meeting. ( So i guess he was not intrested in my money ) Decided to never buy a Kia again. and has discouraged everone since. I would rather stick with a Toyota if i am going to use the car above 5 years. i hope you find a good place for repairs dude. It takes 3 months to get down the parts as well,

Dumping A Bmw 7-Series Off The Cost Of Sri Lanka.

If they are so concerned about world i wished they give the car to Charity Lottery and all the proceeds to go to Internally Displaced People of North and East to Build their Life. Thats more than going Greener !!! -
When i drive in the Night on Rainy weather i feel that there is somekind of oil going to the windscreen and once it sticks on the Glass it just does not go away. I have new wiper blades too. After much research i found out that there is a bit of oil specialy on Newly Tarred Roads. What happens is, once it rains the Oil comes to the top, any High vehicale ( Trucks or Busses) which travels can easily spill this water on to your Windscreen. Even if the oil is minute, it is easy enough to cause a Blurring vision on the Glass. So i feel having a strong oil removal solvent in the wiper washer can easily remove it from the Glass. I need to found out more about this and get back to you.

I am sorry if i am too late to reply to this Thread. If i was given the Budget of those Two i will surely go for the Axela 2009. This is because Axela Body is a well built on the Ford Focus Body Frame. It carries one the best engines in its class. Trust me on this. On Wet Weather i have driven this car at the range of 160km to 180 km and cornered at High Speeds and it has never let me down. It has one of the most responsive engines with a Super VVTi which is very overtaking Friendly ( Hope i put it correctly ) I have owned the First Mazda 3 in SL back in 2004 which is 1.6 Litre Through Carmart and then a 2nd Axela 1.5 through a recon dealer who asked me if it was a good vehicale to race. He has won many trophies since. Trust me Its a Super Vehicale. The New Axela has the same engine of the Old Axela because i dont see why they should change it because its just awesome. Axio i have driven many times but i felt it a bit boring. VVTi is responsive at late stages. I am sure if you go on a long Distance Drive you would not be thinking about a Resale value while you are Driving. I am sure you would be thinking more about the enjoyment you can get out of a vehicale.
