Well your right about the Fiat 1100's as the Indian company borrowed their design for the Premier Padmini cars Well you can go in for Peugeot 203's,Morris Oxfords (but not really a classic as they were 7 SRI ones mostly) You can try Hillman minx's (3 Sri Ones) But for English no classics you might have to restrict yourself to Austin A40 Devon (if you can find one for sale!) Ford Prefects and Anglias (reliability can be an issue here) The Oval VW bug is a good option too

I was wondering whats the oldest car/s in the country which are in daily use and not a collectors item stored in garages i can think of Morris Minors with old english no's like EN,EL etc,some old Fiat 1100's ,VW's (oval rear windscreen model) does anyone know of anyothers wold be great if you give details like which part of the country and model series etc I know that this wont interest people who are into Hybrids and fuel consumption

Hi does anyone know a plce that will repair a faulty speedo meter for a Lancer GLX C12 (YOM 1985),the meter seems to have ben tampered with and hence the needled does not rise up beyond a certain level and the RPM meter too is not working alternatively do you guys know where to get the whole meter cluster for this car?

garage man said that the speedo has been tampered with and hence its faulty does not go above a certain speed (they seem to have reduced the mileage) do you know anybody who repairs speedos as an alternative option?

ah ok more than 200k for Cortinas are unbelievable as they are eternal rust buckets but they sure look nice though oh i frgot to add some other cars for that budget i) Austin A40 Farina ii) Morris Minors iii)Fiat 1100 iv)Morris Oxfords v)Austin Cambridge but im afraid they wont be practical for daily use as these are 1960's and before era cars hence maintaining them is a pain

no lancer box even in bad shape will go for atleast 250+ u can get Ford cortinas and escorts L light Lancers Hillman avenger Morris/Austin 1100/1300 apart from the lancer L lights others are not that reliable buys for this kind of budget

you cannot buy an ASP lancer they go for 600k and above for that price even a decent Mazda is tough to get for less than 500k

you could try a Nissan B11 or a Mitsubish Lancer C12/C11 which are very good cars and will cost between 350-450

Hats off to the Police for curbing this as public roads should never ever be allowed for this unless the road was closed by getting prior permission !!!
