    Trivia Time!!!

Life is a slogan!! Where ever we go, whether on the road, watching TV, reading a magazine, etc we can't escape slogans. Every brand trying their utmost to capture our attention and then our desire to own one. Try identifying who these slogans belong to. (1) Unlike any other The future of the automobile Engineered to move the human spirit. (2) It must be love Technology you can enjoy (3) Power for your control Beauty is not enough (4) Think, feel, drive When you get it, you get it. (5) Born to perform Don't dream it, drive it Grace.....space.....pace (6) Drive your dreams Your new experience of motoring (7) Always there for you Driving is believing Prepare to want one
  2. Well done guys! Most of you guys got the answers correct except the first one. The under-tray is said to be what made the biggest contribution. Points as follows:- Street Kia - 19 Memphis - 27 Madmax - 27 Miniace - 27 Tuk Tuk - 19 Going in order of getting it right, I guess the T-Shirt goes to MEMPHIS and the Sticker goes to MADMAX. MADZ will get in touch with you guys. Cheers
  3. aaaahhhhhhh.....nothing like the great outdoors!!!!!
  4. MS for sure!! Alonso needs to mature up first. He is now blaming his own team for his misfortunes stating that some members of his team does not want him to take #1 to McLaren. It might be boring to see one winner often, but the point is no other team or driver can match Ferrari and MS. MS's announcement of retiring has sold out the next few races, this speaks a lot about what the majority like to see.
  5. Ok everyone For each answer you get correct - 5 positive points. For each answer you get wrong - 3 negative points. At the end of this week we will total up the points and the one with the highest points will receive a AL T-Shirt. Second place - AL Sticker. To be fair, we will not consider the posting by FUZZO as he posted before I made the prize announcement. So FUZZO try again bro.
  6. Hey everyone Try these..... (1) The mini Cooper S Works GP has a drag co-efficient of 0.34. What added aero feature helps the Mini achieve this? (2)Complete the following. Some manufacturers have tuning devisions such as...... Merc - AMG BMW - M power Subaru - STi Renault - ? (3)Who is Ferrari's (commercial production) chief designer? (4)What was James Dean driving when he was killed? (5)Which car has a W16 quad turbo engine? (6)Land Rover has models as 90, 110, and 130. What do these numbers represent? (7)Where are the famous DEGNER and SPOON curves found? ENJOY!!!
  7. yeah you are right. I am certainly going to miss him though. I have watched him from the time he got into F1. Sad indeed!
  8. Love him or hate him, you have to admit Schumi is in a class of his own. The Bridgestones were a disaster on quali with non of their runners making it to the top 10, yet despite the odds MS managed a 6th grid position and then held it together from the start. I really don't see why the man should retire.
  9. Answers....... 350Z NSX Austin Healy Sky-line R34 F40 Saab 93 Well done guys!! Will try to think of another one
  10. Identify the cars guys.......pretty easy. Not difficult at all!!
  11. gleeeeming with envy!!! ENJOY GUYS!!
  12. Pila is correct. Question - why do you want to change the profile?
  13. Audi as a brand has always been an underrated car as compared to other German brands. I think it deserves more recognition. After all they brought us the Quatro. As for the A6, I have had the opportunity of driving this car and whilst it is a great performer, I find some of its interior and exterior dissapointing. Rather dated I should say. At this end of the market, for the money being traded I would expect more. A touch of VW can also be seen on the inside. Don't forget, in this bracket there is also the BMW 5 and Merc E and not to mention the fast catching up Lexus GS.
  14. I am sure you will find this useful. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp Cheers
  15. Thanks for that Pericles. Hola - why so expensive?
  16. Had the opportunity of driving a new Civic for a couple of days. Not sure if the new model is available in SL, it is said to be mainly for the European and African market. Basically it is another econobox, but I love what they have done with the car. Cars in this segment are usually boring, mum's shcool run taxis. Well thats what they are more meant to be. But the Honda boys have gone beyond convention and turned out a stunner. Both inside and outside. For the first time driving a near bottom end car, I actually did not want to part with it. Not so much on power or handling. But it feels great to live with and live in. *mod edit : helping with the images
  17. We should direct the ozone problem to Mr.Bush and the rest of the developed world. They created the problem and continue to contribute immensly to the problem. It was Bush who pulled out of the Keoto agreement on lame excuses so that his industries could operate freely.
  18. What a load of crap. There is lots more to criticise than Top Gear. Why don't they start with the entire content of movies and TV progs that come out these days with nothing but viloence and sex? Isn't that worse irresponsible attitudes than a bunch of guys messing around with speed??
  19. Yeah saw it too. I like the guy and his presentations. Wish him well and a speedy recovery.
  20. you got that right bro!!
  21. Thanks to all the guys. Like said above, our passion is what binds us all, and thats one wonderful feeling. Miniace - we all learn till the day we die. Thats what I believe in. With all the experience I have had with motoring, I am still learning! It is by sharing our knowledge with others that we can take our individual passions to greater heights. Not to mention the industry as a whole. So don't let others damper your enthusiasm. To hell with them, do what makes you happy !! Once again, Thanks for helping me out with my carbs, she is smooth as silk now
  22. It's basically to do with gear ratios and how soon you want the tranny to make the gear changes. I would suggest having the o/d on all the time, whether it be city driving or long distance driving. Take the o/d off when you want to maximise the power range throug the gears.
  23. yeah good question.
  24. I prefer White, but thats for practical reasons, because where I live the summers can be real hot. In my opinion the colour of a car will vary from type of vehicle to model. They come up with all sorts of studies these days, but I really don't believe much in them. It was fun though!
  25. When it comes to just about anything, colour is very personal and also culturally variable. As per a leading motoring magazine I read the other day the colour of car one owns/prefers could mean....... RED - Physical (courage, strength, warmth, energy, masculinity, excitement) BLUE - Intellectual (intelligence, trust, coolness, calm) YELLOW - Emotional (optimism, confidence, friendliness, creative) GREEN - Balance (Harmony, enviromental, peace) ORANGE - Vibrannce (food, warmth, security, fun) PINK - Feminine (nurturing, love) GREY - Staid (neutrality) BLACK - Style (sophistication, glamour, substance) WHITE - Simplicity (purity, efficiency, honest) BROWN - Earthiness (serious, reliable) What colour car do you most prefer??
