  1. Saw a 2013 Honda fit advisrtised in AL. http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=143195 Pretty nice..
  2. an increase the network bandwidth. the site fails to load some times due to network load, which we don't experience in modern websites. + revisit the content of the home page, all except for "top classifieds" and "discussions" not that important.
  3. R.I.P Paul. I watched all the F&F movies, liked Paul for his role, cool but tough character, But to be frank never bothered even to know his name, but now I can't even imagine that I've read almost all the news articles about the demise of Paul Walker from all the major news sites & retweeted as many as tweets about him. As Dreamracer mentioned "we all loved him more than we taught we did". R.I.P Paul Walker, as many said, F& F will never be the same without him.

  6. I checked with "Rainbow m***rs" in Panchikawatte Rd over the phone, seems engine parts are available, since it has the same engine used in other cars. One of my friend, who I presume has more knowledge on cars than me said that body parts are scare not the engine parts.
  7. Hi, I am looking to buy a 1st gen Mazda Demio (YOM 2001). the car seems to be looking good and I thought of getting a inspection report from Mazda agents (COLO). When I spoke to them they strongly suggested not to buy that car as there is no spare parts available in Sri Lanka as well as the after sales value. I'm confused after their response. A web article i read says the 1st gen Demio houses the same 1.3L engine used in 323. Really appreciate all your advises.
  8. I just went through the list of offences, can't we make a complaint under the below mentioned offence, Removing, altering, obliterating, erasing or defacing of a label or description or price mark of any goods and producing such a good for sale.
  9. Go ahead mate, better to spread the info and educate the people to do their own due diligence.
  10. If they are fair players they shouldn't have tempered the odometer, isn't. Anyway I'm posting the mail conversation below the mail I sent the reply I got
  11. Nope, My colleague was the one who went to buy the vehicle, if I post the JAAI here they (Seller) can easily trace down to him. So I'm trying to protect my colleague not those sellers
  12. I never ruled out the possibilities of such thing happening, verifying that would not be possible at all for a general Sri Lankan. But that doesn't mean that we should let go of our local crooks All what I've done here is doing my due diligence, which others also can do before buying vehicles from so called reputed car sales.
  13. I would love to post all those details, including JAAI & the mail conversation. but I'm not doing it as my colleague could be easily identified. However you can inspect this vehicle at their Hyde-park corner show room, Metellic Beige KGC10 2007 model car.
  14. One of my office colleague is looking for a small size car and found a unregistered Passo 2007 model with an odometer reading of 33k. We had a doubt on the mileage as the car should have done less than 10k per year till it's export to SL in early 2011. the other odd fact we noticed that as to why the car has not got sold for more than 2.5 years. So we requested for JAAI certificate from the sellers. JAAI dated 20 Aug 2010 clearly indicated a odometer reading at the time of inspection to be 33,117km, so I tried contacting JAAI to verify the certificate. After failing to get thru via call, wrote to them on info at jaai . or .jp with the certificate no, car make model YOM and I intentionally put the Odometer reading 20,000km less than what was in the certificate (Just to make sure they respond). today morning I received the response, like this Dear ............... The odometer reading-13,117km which you said in your e-mail is different from our record. Our record of the Mileage at the inspection time is 83,117km. thank you N.OKANO JAAI if you need to know the seller of this car, refer to the topic tag
  15. Dear all, I've been looking to buy a vehicle imported under permit to a manager at my office. The bank officer told me that eventhoug the vehicle transfer is allowed cost of transferring is high, due to some fee payable to the DMV. Advise please
  16. Yes mate, upto 50k you can get tax free allowance and company will also can deduct it on tax calaculations. best thing is to discuss with your HR fellows & Finance and short out this, you can get a recently registered Passo for this price, which is superior than any of the vehicles discussed here. check this link, http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=92521
  17. Yes, I was looking for a kelisa, I had a budget of 1.5mn max at that time and I didn't buy a car at that time due to the very high rates quoted by the leasing companies. but with the increments I got recently now in a better position financially. Your 2nd point is really valid and I do keep it in mind for sure..
  18. Hi, I checked for some Altos HA24S's. those are also within my budget, What is the tyre size of Alto, It looks too small compared to other counterparts, by the way any idea on the ground clearance as well tks
  19. I'm a layman in this field
  20. I checked the KIA picanto prices today, the basic manual priced at 3mn which they said was introduced at 1.65mn. I wonder how the price of picanto went up so much when the Elite went up at much lesser rate..
  21. I agree on the fact that blog isn't so popular in SL like AL, Even I got to know about that site recently just by googling. However I thought not to risk myself with a micro vehicle..
  22. for resale value I don't have any direct reference, but for one actyon I mentioned, I got a valuation of 3.4mn from De silva motor engineers which was bought originally for 5mn+. The forum I mentioned is a dedicated platform for Micro car users, I would recommend anyone who want to go for a Micro to check that site first, it gives views on both pro's and con's of the micro cars.
  23. May be, again the resale value of the panda will also be very low in the future as well.. I read a blog on Micro cars maintained by a Sri Lankan, and there I read many people complaining about it's fuel efficiency and a production defect. http://www.microcarslk.com/2012/01/general-issue-with-micro-panda-geely-lc.html
  24. but it has a 660cc engine right, i heard those lacks in pulling power and bad on fuel in full load, isn't it
