    As far as I know only 92 and 95 octane petrol is available in Sri Lanka at the moment. The extra premium euro 3 petrol at LIOC is 92 octane

    Mileage is just a number. Go by the condition of the car and make sure all the preventive maintenance is done on time. Imagine two identical brand new cars bought by two executives living in Kottawa. One works in Galle and the other works in Colombo Fort. If both use the car to travel to work daily on weekdays for 2 years, the car travelling to Galle will have 100000 mostly expressway miles while the other car will have only 20000 miles. If both were maintained according to the schedule, used for its intended purpose and no major accidents, guess which one will have less wear and tear (other than the tires) and be in better overall condition.

    Vitz has softer suspension set up making it more comfortable for the passengers. The downside of this is relatively poor handling. Interior depends on the grade. You may notice more vibration in the 3 cylinder vitz when idling but its hardly noticeable when on the move or if you rev up a bit. The 1.0 will be more fuel efficient around town and cruising on the expressway. Outstation it depends on how you drive. If you drive like a granny the 1.0 will still be more efficient. If you prefer a spirited drive the 1.3 will be better.

    The vitz is probably more fuel efficient than the other two and will easily achieve your target of 12 to 18 kmpl on long journeys. It is also probably more comfortable. The demio and swift will handle a bit better and will be fun to drive than the vitz if you enjoy driving.

    Just see whether it does 14-17kmpl outstation on open roads as suggested by hrm. Fuel consumption in city is dependent more on how bad the traffic is and can easily drop to 8 kmpl if you sit in traffic for a long time. In Colombo traffic it sometimes takes 1 hour to cover 5km. Just running the engine uses up fuel you know and the accessories and stop & go nature is not kind on fuel economy.

    Did you check the fuel efficiency on open roads or on the expressway? 8kmpl can be normal if you sit in traffic for a long time but on the expressway or outstation you should be able to achieve upwards of 14kmpl depending on your driving habits. By the way, I wonder how a 2011 car got imported in 2019 when there is a restriction of 3 years from the date of manufacture/registration to import a car to SL.

    It may be normal if you sit in traffic for a long time. For example if you take around 2 hours to do 20km in the city, your engine is running powering the AC and accessories consuming petrol even though you don't get any mileage. Better to take her on a trip on open roads and see or do a expressway run and see whether she does about 16kmpl. My guess is the car would be doing 16 kmpl on the expressway and 6 kmpl in heavy traffic to return an average of 11 kmpl.
