Komi, I assume KP61 is also called as Starlet. Not sure about it. Well, about the engine swap, I haven't though about it at the moment & neither reserved a space in my budget proposal I got approved from my dearest Wifey..... Komi I need to clarify a question. Do you own three vehicles or a yard full of vehicles??? :-) Thanks for the offer but I have strictly made up my mind for a two door version. Any way the one you have is a KE 20?

Thanks Jaliya! I was hunting for a 2 door version for almost three months, but my mission failed. I'm looking for a two door specifialy to keep things simple as I will only use it during the week to get to office.

Komi, sorry to bump into this thread.(My PM is not functioning for some reason) Need your input to select a car which I'm planning for a re-build & to use as a daily drive to office. Was searching for a Corolla KE 20 two door for a while but was not that lucky. March K10 is bit beyond my budget. Found a B210 & a Mitsubishi Galant but both were four door sedans. I'm interested in a two door hatchback for below 250K. Any other models running trough your mind?

Watchman - Agreed. But the Agent will have records as well isn't it? As we very well know, not many buyers are aware or give a damn to visit the agent for a quick scan before they finalize the deal.

Well then, if it's agent maintained, one can call Toyota Lanka along with the vehicle number & verify the records & the milage. Edit - Just saw "Pissa"s second reply. The current owner is from a car sale & we all know how they work in SL. Any way it's a good step taken by Pissa to protcet a potential buyer from AL. This is the main reason I do not opt to go for an open paper signed vehicle sale.

I doubt MKX, because the seller is willing to give the mintenance records done trough the agents. But the best part is "Pissa" is missing in action.

More Advertisments, Gifts, Prizes, Draws etc. means the establishment is in need of cash desperatley. Look around the market. Some banks offer low interest rates with zero advertising for liability products (FD's + savings) but the stability of the bank is high. As Jdnet stated, take a look at Ratings (Fitch preferbley), Annual reports to get a better knowledge of the institution. Also Gold is a good comodity to invest in.

This happend to me with my starlet 2 years back. Even when the car is at halt & raved the AC worked fine (due to high RPM) but when it was just at halt I felt only the hot air blowing from the vents. Took it to the AC mechanic & he stated that the compressor had to be changed. I guess it cost me around LKR 12,000/=

Water in the plugs may be a reason for this cause. Wait until the AL pro's come for your assistance.
