Honda CVT's are advised to change oil within 15-20k intervals .. and it will cost you close to 10k @stafford (including labor which will be somewhere around 1k or something) And yah Honda CVT still cannot overcome the gearbox failure and it cant be repaired because it will cost you like 250k or something.. if the gear box is faulty only option is replacing one (recon) which will be roughly 60-70k (depending on what model you are willing to buy) Only advantage I see with CVT's are gear changing is smooth, good acceleration and fuel efficiency..

When was the last time you changed the gear box oil ? one of my cousin had same issue with his serena, issue was sorted for sometime once you change the gear box oil. But it was diagnosed as a gear box failure and was advised to replace the gearbox.

Those who needs to make your headset BT enabled, this might come in handy --- http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-Quality-USB-Car-Bluetooth-US-Stereo-OH-Receiver-Adapter-Wireless-Audio/201376051715?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D34575%26meid%3Daceed9aab701413a9083dcccad685eee%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D131627660209 I just ordered one yesterday. Just curious does this have 2 barrels or one which can be seen at the rear end? Because I have seen Micro kyron (if im not mistaken) which has 2 barrels (big one in the middle, and a tiny one towards the rear end) once changed the rear end barrel at Elcardo. Check with them, may be they can help you out..

Sudden Vibration Of One Side Of The Vehicle
PerfMad replied to andunslg's question in Mechanical problems
yeah.. before jumping into conclusions, best is to switch wheels of front and drive a bit and see.. If the vibration comes from right side, then check your tire checked and may be get the wheels balanced.. hope that will help.. -
Cheers mate.. Hope you'll be able to sort out your issue.

Why do you use dash cleaning chemical at the first place ? Dashboard can be cleaned with a dry or wet cloth. What I usually do is, i clean it with a dry cloth and then apply DASH interior cleaner (cant remember the exact name, but its a yellow colour small bottle which has a white colour liquid). And I have been using this for like more than 1.5 years for dashboard and door panel and no harm. Following is the item i've been using all these years ( https://www.keellssuper.com/ProductInfo/92102/SCBR/H) I suggest you use something like that. It gives you nicer look and hide any scratches if there are any as well However with regards to your issue, i have no experience on that. But i think applying a wet towel or cloth on those areas should help you out to solve your issue (fingers-crossed)

thanks for the info mate.. if you dont mind how much did it cost you ? and when was this ? I should pay a visit and see Cheers

@shane - Like all other mentioned Cefiro is a good comfortable car.. But since you are more concerned about the spare parts price & fuel figures, i dont think its a wise choice .. Because one of my friend bought one and like others mentioned its not really good on fuel figures (in city less than 8) and parts were really expensive as per him.. so he sold it after like 6months.. and about mazda's i dont know abt the maintenance cost of the model you mentioned, but mazda 3 range vehicle maintenance are really expensive.. If im not wrong honda citu vtec would give you good fuel figures (if its a manual, not quite sure about auto though).. Anyhow why don't you look for a Lancer as well.. I have a Lancer(manual) + Honda city 2004(auto) model.. both spare parts are not that expensive though.. ** note : trust me once you buy the car it won't stop been only your weekend driver it'll eventually be ur DAILY cheers

Thanks for the info machan.. yes defa will do ASAP. cheers

If you dont mind me asking, what sort of issues did you get rid of ? Cheers
-
@Davi - I have the same issue in my lancer. Can you please tell me where can we buy these from SL ? I would like to try out this as well. And is there a brand we should look for and roughly the price? Cheers

If you live close to Nawala, then probably it worth checking N@wala cushion works.. I have seen some of their work and its really impressive. Gotta say their work is bit expensive but worth checking it's located on the opposite side of where elcardo was before( just in case you need a land mark)

Hi All Just an update on this.. Today I went to Nilwala motors to check on my cvt gear box issue.. After a trial run he advised me to use this for lil longer cz that slipping issue doesn't come always. And later I asked whether this drive chain can be replaced.. And his answer was Yes. However he mentioned that it will take 2 days for the repair (fingers crossed) but might need to replace worn out parts along with it (i.e clutch plates) and all.. He said it will roughly cost 65000/- which sounds reasonable ? Just posting these since I know there are people who are undergoing the same issue.. Cheers

@The Don - Thanks for the lengthy explanation I just gave up that idea

Hi Nimz77 - No worries machan.. I got the required answer.. no more quizes related to this hehe Cheers Keep us posted with your update

Guys just asking.. I know my quiz isn't related to this. But I don't want to create new thread to discuss this. Therefore following are my concerns; I have a Mitsubishi cb1 car (1300 cc carb model) where I'm curious on doing the following may be someday 1. Is it possible to switch my carb engine with a EFI 1500 engine ? 2. If yes, what would be the best suitable engine (racing isn't my highest priority using this as a daily runner)? 3. What are the other things that should be changed along with this swap ? 4. roughly how much will it cost ? only for parts ? Just curious to know that's it.. If anyone can help me out that would be great Note : There are no issues with the carb, just curious to know the cost and needed parts that's all... Cheers

Isn't it too early for an engine to worn out ?? assuming your ado meter readings are correct
-
Some say when beat silencers are set for carbs vehicles, it consumes more fuel unlike EFI ones.. is that true ?

@The Don - Can you tell me normally where can we do a compression test ? How much does it cost ? and whats the limit which requires engine overhaul ?? @Nimzz - What's the milage of your vehicle ?
-
hmmmm to be honest im not quite sure about it.. but planning on showing this to my mechanic and get his opinion as well.. This issue could be due to starter motor as well as engine compression..not quite sure.. but it's always better to get the starter motor serviced
-
My lancer has the same issue.. but i don't worry much..cz this scenario is applied only when the engine is hot.. so at the moment i slightly press the accelerator before i start and it works.. i think mine is due to starter motor hoping to service it in latter stage.. since its not a big issue for me at the moment..

tell me the figures before and after
