No fair. There were no tags when I replied. Anyways, go for a Viva Elite. Newest car on the lot and the agent still imports spare parts for it AFAIK. Be sure to find one in good condition.

Hey, I ain't the one who said the DFSK 580 is a piece of metal shit ? infact, I dare you to quote a post where I "criticized" the DFSK or its owners.
-
And a lot of joy with it...
-
I stand corrected
-
@PreseaLover where are thou? ?
-
Hey I'm all for locally assembled Chinese vehicles being reliable as much as Japanese vehicles - If DFSK 580 is the first Chinese car to achieve that (I seriously doubt that would be the case after seeing @Crosswind's reply above though.) you won't find me being grumpy about it! However, I'm not going to pay a cent out of my pocket to test if the latest addition to the Chinese car stable would hold up to Japanese standards in Sri Lanka. That's for guys with deep pockets or shallow brains.
-
What's the point of talking about tall Chinese buildings when majority of the Chinese vehicles imported to Sri Lanka so far proved to be crapboxes in the long run?
-
Perhaps a prospective owner
-
Well Chinese cars can be sold for a few 100k loss too Edit: if they prove to be acceptably reliable and can withstand harsh SL conditions without falling apart like some Chinese vehicles Eg: The Geely Emgrand. It was about 3.1mil back in 2015, now they're going for 2.5mil and upwards. Not a half-bad car for that price, you get the comfort of a Premio, better driving pleasure and spare parts are affordable too.

It's their very first (or the second) review if I remember correctly, cut them some slack. they even had a song about Prados at the end of it But I find their later reviews to be professional and to the point
-
What's wrong with ElaKiri car reviews? Even though they don't focus on the cons of any vehicle their reviews are factually correct ne?
-
I do agree with the "VFM" part. There is a considerable price gap between this and its Japanese counterparts because of the tax structure. However, I wouldn't be a guinea pig for testing this vehicle out - if it performs acceptably under Sri Lankan conditions and if there is enough backing up from the agents and 3rd party spares vendors in the future then sure, I'd give it a shot if I were in the market for an urban SUV/Crossover. Until then, let brave souls like @Car Doctor and @Roshan321 test it out for us. I say more power to them for their selfless endeavor! :D

Since you're going to use the car for only 3 years I suggest going for a Toyota.- 1 reply

What's with all the abusive-fanboing Scotty and Chris both share valuable knowledge and are hella entertaining to watch - why call either of them names because they have beef, pork or venison between each other which is no business of ours

I'd go with the Bezza for commercial purposes, Attrage or Ciaz would be better suited for personal use considering maintenance costs and fuel efficiency IMO. Micro is known for fleecing their clientele which gets stuck because no 3rd party is importing parts for their cars so that's a definite no-no.
-
How did UNIMO do back when you owned the Lancer? I've been taking mine to their Katugasthota and Kurunegala branches, they've been exceptionally careful when handling the car (I still do the washing and vaccuming myself though)
-
Or a new owner Let him be, mateys. He's obviously in love with his car, you wouldn't say bad things about your waifu in public even if she is a "Wadhaka Bhari", would you?
-
It's nothing new, liqui-moly is already selling such a product if I remember correctly. Personally, I think proper and timely maintenance would be much more effective in increasing the longevity of the engine than using these questionable products.

Best sensible car for 3 million?

Had Micro imported this with a 4G15 engine this would've been a hit in Sri Lanka... people run away screaming as soon as they hear "1800CC" -
Best sensible car for 3 million?
Hyaenidae replied to urheard2008's question in Car Buying Information
I've been recommending this car for people who don't mind a Chinese ride and a 10 - 12kmpl average fuel economy - Geely Emgrand. Seriously the most value for money car I've seen which doesn't look like crap after the first 4-5 years of use like most Chinese vehicles. The driving experience is awesome for that kind of money. Civics and Lancers are great choices too but even the newest ones for this budget would be 10 years old while you can easily find a first owner 2015-2016 Emgrand for less than 3 mil (It was 3.1mil brand-new back in 2015). You can save the rest for years worth of fuel and maintenance. -
