This was my ultimate dream car too - but I want my dream car to be a daily runner, Evo X with its 98 octane fuel requirement doesn't seem like a "feasible" daily runner (at least in Sri Lanka) so I'm hoping to buy an EX and swap a 4B11 non-turbo engine + Manual transmission, as a "fun" car

Why don't you try spraying your cabin air filter with a scent you like?

Viva Elite to Picanto 2018 - is the upgrade worth?
Hyaenidae replied to firstgear's question in Car Buying Information
If the basic maintenance has been done in a timely manner you won't have to worry about an EX being older, It is as reliable as a 121/240 if not more over time -
Kandahar is that you? Since the gen2 was discontinued back in 2012 and no other car shares its body parts won't sourcing parts be a challenge even if one has a contact to bring down parts from Malaysia? Even the original Campro engine with no VVT which was used in the 1st gen gen2 (S4PH) has been discontinued since 2008 according to Wikipedia.

Now that's what I wanted to see

Where's the KDH race?

Once she gets her replacement car take it to the social media with the evidence she has collected. Make sure another unsuspecting buyer won't fall into the same scam.

It's not like Europeans are way better at it, apparently, VAG's DSG transmission has a high failure rate in India just like Honda's DCT in Sri Lanka... But unlike the majority of Japanese and European consumers, Sri Lankans run their cars to the ground so Japanese cars becoming less and less reliable is more of a concern to us - and the manufacturers don't seem to give two hoots. #BringBack121sand240s

You can buy a recon Toyota with the agent's warranty in Sri Lanka now. Toyota Lanka has started importing used vehicles certified by Toyota Japan to Sri Lanka.
-
Well Toyota Lanka imports used JDM Toyotas now. Not sure where they get those from, maybe auctions? http://www.toyota.lk/__trashed-2/

Did you ever try Hot Pursuit 2010? Loved it to bits with all those weapons (EMP, Spike Strip, Jammers etc) and stuff. Online gameplay was awesome too.

You can safely assume that a KIA Picanto would be reliable as much as a Japanese alto if not more over time.

Well, the general consensus is that if you're using fully synthetic oil, OCI should be 10,000kms/1 year. OFC the agent would advise you to change oil every 5k kms or 6 months, double the profit for them after all. Guess they would threaten you with voiding your warranty if you do otherwise.

Waxing helps, it fills up microscopic swirl marks and prevents further damage - My 5 year old car is mostly free of swirl marks compared to most newer cars

Kia Picanto vs Wagon R (both brand new)
Hyaenidae replied to HelaS's question in Car Buying Information
YES. Aside from obvious safety issues, reselling a lower grade Picanto will be difficult, potential customers would definitively be put off by the lack of ABS in a car made in 2019. -
Anything & Everything About Coolant......
Hyaenidae replied to seejaylk's topic in General Automotive
The main reason for different coloring is to avoid people mixing different kinds of coolant. There are several kinds of coolant - IAT, OAT, HOAT, Recycled, etc etc. Mixing 2 kinds of coolant is not recommended. Refer to your users manual to select the proper coolant for your car. It should say something like this: (This is the recommendation for my car, yours could differ) "Ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrate and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology (HOAT)." -
A good sedan with good fuel economy budget 3.5 to 3.8 mil.
Hyaenidae replied to XuneB's question in Car Buying Information
Axio non-hybrid - Reliable, no-nonsense people carrier, sounds like the obvious choice 240 - Good choice if you can find an exceptional example (1/2 owners, Service records from day 1, etc) Nissan Bluebird - No idea FD1 - Looks great, drives great Mazda 3 - Looks great, drives great, better fuel efficiency than the FD1 -
My user manual says I can use 90 RON "As an emergency measure"... Still contemplating if I should try a tankful of 92. Never used anything other than 95 since the very first fill-up

@kush was this the 1500CC variant (4A91) or the 1600CC (4A92) one?

Plus this moves threads made by other members who wait patiently to get their questions answered into the "load more" void and they go unnoticed and unanswered.- 68 replies
