  1. Pray tell, what dost cock-tell mean?
  2. Has it always been like that? Nothing to worry really. Almost all cars have that problem. Even the digital fuel gauges are unreliable. Living in hilly areas can cause the gauge to change the readings often. Just make sure that the guy at the fuel station is actually putting petrol in there instead of air or diesel.
  3. You know you are in a german car when it has a fax machine in it. Imagine take a smart girl out on a date and talking about those spring pressure controlling devices on the wipers. Freaking Deutsche nerds.
  4. Electronics aside, are the engines & suspension really that complex on those cars? Say, relative to an E46?
  5. There are alot of places that would do it for you although I'm not specifically knowledgeable in the Colombo area. Let's wait until another member gives a hint.
  6. Is this the same car that had a wing sometime back? Nice looking thing bro. You might as well leave her the way she is. Those rims are on spot. Maybe color the calipers yellow or red. Put a nice boot spoiler, some projector/angel eyes and a few interior gadgets and touches would be enough. Focus on making her mechanically sound like a full service and a better exhaust.
  7. Whatever modification parts you want, you have to order from abroad sadly. I say, a nice set of wheels, clean spoiler, smoke tint, that nismo bumper. Do post pics of your car if possible.
  8. That's an Alcantara wheel. A thing of beauty really. Is that from your car?
  9. Dr. Kelum is the guy for Cedric, mark IIs and other 6 cylinder machines it seems. Also, I once thought that Srilankan drivers who had big expensive cars were careful with them. Seems to me I'm 101% wrong. Also that red coupe has an ugly racing wheel in place of the standard airbag wheel for whatever reason. Also, did you get close to finding the parts?
  10. Oops, I should have mentioned 'alot of of bubbles'.
  11. LOL. R. I. P those ricer boys. Also, two R32 or R33 (I'm not sure which one) were lost too right? Wanna know the story on those. Anyways, There are 2 V35 Skyline coupes too right? A red and a blue.
  12. Although the pictures aren't clearly showing the problem, I think you mean an oily layer floating on top of the coolant under the cap? Two cases as far as my experience goes: 1)There's alot of rust in your radiator OR 2) You have a failed head gasket. Start the car with the radiator cap open (make sure no one is standing nearby) and take a peek and see if there are bubbles coming up. If so, you have a failed gasket.
  13. Really? Just 2 300s? Or do you mean only 2 350GTs? I think I have seen more than two though.
  14. Without a scan, can't conclude anything for sure. These cars are complex and computerized, you could be facing a simple software issue or maybe something mechanically related. Have you maintained the DCT oil in time?
  15. As far as I know, we don't have any current V35 owners here. Do have a Mark X owner though. Most of the parts have to be sourced from abroad, you could try the middle east too because there are lots of Nissan Altimas and Infiniti G35/G37s running there. Try checking out on FB too.
  16. Could be the ballast. Also, did you try panchikawatte? Take a sample with you, there might be some models with shared parts. Spare parts are a bit hard to come by for the V35 isn't it?
  17. Checked the EPS system? How's the wheel alignment? A failing EPS motor can cause a stiff feeling. Like @Dee Jay said, drive carefully for a few days and see if you notice any difference. Do get it checked in a garage as soon as possible though.
  18. Monawada bn fatta? Fatta withara newai, maxxa machan maxxa Aniwaren balanda one, oyata danne ne thiyanna athal eka? Thada thada Dn Monawada karanne? enda balamu. Supiri machan, kiyala wedak ne
  19. Carchecks has a solid rep. Greasemonkey is being advertised around alot too, so that's worth checking out too. Also why are you avoiding Toyota Lanka?
  20. There's a 1984, (32-) G wagon going for 40mn. I had to ask the owner if he had put the 0 there by mistake. Mad lol.

Personal sightings 1.4mil km hilux, Not sure on the engine(s)

      Caravan VX 90s

      1.7mil km  first owner

5 engines, multiple turbos, same gearbox manual.

owner died while washing the van. A tour guide.

Now sadly sold off, probably passing off as a 200k km caravan.

0.7mil Caravan high roof, second overhaul, same engine manual still with first owner, old school service owner.

Owner died while washing the van? I don't think there is a more legendary way to go as far as lankan methods go. Also, why 5 engines? No overhauls? Still, I'm seriously impressed tiv and feel sad for the person too.

What abour you? Highest mileage so far?

Well, about the G wagon, It's quite rare and one of a kind vehicle. So high prices are expected but 40 mill is the money for importing one from UK or SA.

Still it's pretty rare, there might be more Ferraris in the country than G-wagons. So a collector would consider this even at 10's of millions.

I happen to know a Hiace LH172 with 1.4mill km on the clock, first owner and original gearbox. Engine overhauled once  few years back (well after 1mill mark). Used for hires all around the country. The owner (a family friend) once discarded a relatively new tire used as a spare wheel due to dry rotten rubber, never has had to use it. That's reliability for you.

  21. You summed it up. Pretty much the same reason as to why anything without a Toyota badge in the previous years were considered 'market naha, wedak naha, denna baha' . But unlike before, buyers are more open minded, they do their research and don't fall into this trap like before but we still have alot to go in the way of development ofc. Your reply should be posted on every FB page, forum, light posts, walls, gates of car sales and even on trees on off-roader trails for 4x4 drivers and potential buyers to find and read.
  22. @fiat fan you need this in your life.
  23. Did you try pulling out the spark plugs and giving it an inspection? They can tell a few things. Also what is the condition of the engine oil? A car having contaminated/bad oil can stop like that. Also, no matter how new the thermostat, sensors and hoses, they are easily replacable on a removed engine (like a kid playing with building blocks) so those could have been changed. But I suspect the problem isn't with the condition of the internals but rather the belts, bearings or oil. Do update after the mechanics inspection.
  24. You need to get a diagnostic scan to pinpoint the exact problem. The yellow triangle symbol has many meanings on different models. Some places do the scan for free during promotions, services, repairs or random events. For peace of mind, do inspect the car a bit using your knowledge. Listen for any weird noises during start and see if all the buttons and functions are working properly, including lights and horn.
  25. 95 is only needed when you got a turbo, a high capacity or high revving engine (something with a red line of above 8-9k rpm, excluding small motorbikes)
