  1. Sweet bike btw! Must be getting lots of attention? Also do you do long trips or just short rides?
  2. The time has come for japan grey imports, bikes like the TZR, Bandits, Zeal, Balius, Virago, Rebel, etc..are suffering a shortage of parts & demand. The only bikes that can still live on are the mopeds, roadmaster/benly, fireblades & hornets. Triumph has sealed the deal with bajaj so expect some high capacity indians in 2 years time. Bajaj CEO himself said that they are working on the development of a 400+ cc already. Thinking if gota would allow high capacity bikes like last time ? Also, is there a way we can import a used dominar for cheap? Or are we forced to go to DPMC to do that (as in, do they have strict rights to be the only importers of a bajaj vehicle?)
  3. Seriously though, what kind of laziness/lack of attention is this? Damn...
  4. What in the hell...what specifically makes those repairs so expensive? How come the bumper, trunk, lights, windshield & doing the frame cost that much?????
  5. There is a 2018 registered FD RX7 & 2 Lancer Evo IX too! I think it may be a vehicle seized/detained in the harbour.
  6. Do we even have S13s here? I've only seen a 180/240sx & we have only one S15 in the island (the most common go-to-drift car is a unicorn here, go figure huh). As far as I know, none are up for sale in any of the quick sites. Are you in the market for an RWD sports car or specifically an s13? There was an R31 skyline a while back (without documentation), an AE85 Levin & an FC3S RX-7 with a 1.8L turbo Inline 4 that's still up for sale though.
  7. Honestly, it's one of the most reliable people carriers, or else they wouldn't be so common. We had 3 different ones and none gave even a minor issue. A friend of mine has crossed 30k km on his stingray (bought brand new) and he had his first minor problem, which is that the strip lights near the speedometer (that change from green to blue depending on battery or petrol power) has stopped changing & I think he has got that sorted out. Other than that tiny issue, everything is solid. Maintain the vehicle well, learn about how to use an automatic vehicle properly & when buying a wagonR, look at the service records & inspect carefully for signs of accidents. These cars were mostly used as city cars/driven by all sorts of people (women, kids, learners, toddlers, old people, rent companies, hires, first time car owners, etc..) Also, a 2015 wagonR would have anywhere from 45k and above km. Inspect the car thoroughly and see if the condition matches the mileage. Overall, just buy from a private, family-owned, 1st owner party. If it's a 2015 stingray, expect to pay no more than 2.4 million depending on (mileage & condition) Follow the wagonR facebook page too as they are very helpful if you want to know anything. Good luck!
  8. It's the same (wagonR), just a different badge. Like the: Suzuki Hustler/Mazda Flair Suzuki Every/Mazda Scrum Daihatsu Move/Subaru Stella Daihatsu Cast/ Toyota Pixis Joy Also remembered seeing a japan Alto with a Mazda badge. But when it comes to reselling, people who aren't sure if they are the same model might create a minor fuss (ane..mazda 2nd market ne bn) so you have to explain them that. But this is a rare occurence so don't worry.
  9. Saw an AE85 for sale in a quick site. Any initial D/Itsuki wannabes (Note: Not Takumi) with a million to spare, now is the chance!

  10. We used havoline for our motorbikes & for our previous cars too. Good for the budget. If you want a better oil, then Mobil1 is the way to go.
  11. My cousin's 2016 Stingray (yes, almost everyone in my life is a wagonR user) had met with an accident with damages to the bumper left side and hood. He had rented it out with normal insurance and therefore insurance has denied him claim. He wants to know a good place in colombo where he could get a new hood and front bumper for an affordable price. Thanks in advance!
  12. I've noted lots of people who don't know the proper way to use an A/C during the summer. Here are some tips: https://carfromjapan.com/article/car-maintenance/tips-using-car-ac-hot-weather-efficiently/amp/
  13. Should have posted in the general automotive section. Also this topic has been discussed before. Tuscani/Tiburon: not very fast & not very practical. hard to find body parts & spares. Fuel economy depending on condition & driving style can be anywhere from (6 - 9 kmpl) as the 2.0L is a bit thirsty. If you want an easy to maintain performance/sports car for that price range, go for an EP82 Starlet GT.
  14. I got me gang at A*W & Panchikawatte, what you gonna do?? *wallet leaves pants, goes to the corner and sobs Seriously tho, despite that, ebay has lost some popularity. Also, what about Amayama or Croooober?
  15. Oh no no, I dont have a lancer, just a swift with ABS & airbags.
  16. Hey, I dont need an ABS sensor for my lancer cuz I got none Seriously tho, hows the progress so [email protected]
  17. An amaron with 4 year warranty would do just fine. If you seriously want a jap battery, then Yuasa is the way to go. Lots of tyre & parts shops have them. @tiv you told something about yuasa batteries having a short battery life when kept under the hood. Does this happen to those wagonR specific batteries or??
  18. Ebay is overrated. Who even buys from ebay anyways. Everything is expensive there. Also what happened to the 5%..maybe that 5% is what happens to 95% of my orders. The delievery system is slow ?
  19. Read a very recent news article about a Mercedes G-wagen that went up in flames in the parking lot of a mall in UAE, killing 2 toddlers in the process.

As horrifying as it sounds, I'm curious to know whats up with these modern euro luxo barges going up in flames every now in a while. Inside Edition did a video a long time ago, on several BMWs going up in flames while being parked.

If so, how could such events keep occuring more than twice? Shouldn't they try to match their japanese rivals atleast in this critical section? Are they this hell bent on making profits?

Good question...actually the market of these  capacitors used on the power lines is almost exclusively held by Japanese suppliers like Murata, TDK. Maybe Japanese car makers do not use them because they know better about the weaknesses of their own suppliers..

Stupid & sad really for what the world has come to

  20. Go through this thread. It's related to the Chevrolet Cruze (same platform as the Swift Jeep).
  21. Brezza is relatively older..so isnt Raize toyota's answer to the brezza? Wish the letter X got some more recognition, thats cool too. KTM sniped all other 'cool' names with their Xbow (read: crossbow)
  22. 'When you wanted to raize lifestyles, but instead raized something else' @Hyaenidae mr. Pajero trying to scare us. What do we do? Shall we stuff him inside the multipla before that? But in all seriousness @Crosswind, dont kidnap us, Pao neda?
  23. Twizy? Not having a viva on my french skills now are we?
