  5. There's a fellow on FaceBook who seems to specialize in Mark 2 Parts (JZX90, JZX100, JZX110). I have no clue about the quality of his stuff/worksmanship so I can't openly recommend but if you would like I can drop the name on a personal message?

  15. How to budget repairs?

The question is pretty simple, I've got a severe case of OCD if something isn't quite right I fix it and I've already spent about 80k on repairs since I bought the EP91 (2 months ago), and there's another 100k worth of stuff that needs fixing. None of them are repairs that affect the usage of car but little stuff annoys me (worn out front razer, scuffed dashboard, wonky door handles, broken seat light indicators, scratched windows etc).

Thankfully I've been doing these repairs from what I've been making at work but my parents think its absolute bonkers for me to spend so much money on a 22 year old car. Looking for some advice :(

Haha, same here. 3 month old pug, similar amount as yours in repairs and maintenance.20 yr old car. Nothing bonkers here considering how some pay that amount just to do a gearbox oil change in their cars.

      This is what Im doing:

*Have a checklist, seperate it into 3 sections based on priorities (top, med, low)

Top priority should include repairs and things you need to have done asap or else the car will blow up and you will die (T-belt, cooling system, seals, bearings, ball joints)

Medium should be things that will need to be checked not now, but sometime in the distant future. Examples: a slightly worn our clutch, a mildly stretched shifter cable, slightly dark steering fluid, an idle control valve going bad.

Low priority is where your OCD stuff comes in (scuffs, touch ups, new buttons, seat cover, wonky speedometer)

Always try to cut off the top repairs before moving onto the medium priority jobs.

*Next step is, never buy a car for 100% of your budget. Always save upto 10-15% of the cars worth in liquid cash for repairs/maintenance annually (this percentage applies to a car that's well maintained by its previous owner, shitboxes on the other hand can cost 50 - 100% of their purchase cost just for repairs) .

Avoid temporary repairs, unless you're stranded on the side of the road and it's the only option. Dont patch weld your ruined radiator, don't charge your battery if it's nearing it's death after 5 years of use, don't hammer that bent control arm, no super glue and duct tapes. Temporary repairs are just a waste of money in an effort to prevent an inevitable expense.

As far as my life goes, Murphy's law has never failed to shove me up where it hurts.

Also, try to go for genuine/high quality parts and quality fluids as much as you can. Yes they are pricey, but on the long term you are saving cash by doing so.

Also, as far as meals are concerned.. KottuMee is fine I guess.

@AVANTE Okay that was a fairly comprehensive explanation, I've just realized I've spent on stuff that gives me OCD mostly as well (Spent 5000 for a broken digital  Clock "Clown Emoji"

I'm alright in the fluids department the other squeaks and rattles just unfortunately pisses me off. I'll try to stick to your advice :(

  16. Someone please take my chance, bogged down with some uni work, I'll spend some quality time over the weekends
  17. Daym, talk about a glow up from the Prius Rip-off days, are they still trying to compete with the Prius? If so this one definitely looks better than that Space Shuttle looking Prius.
  18. Mahindra XUV 500
  19. Hi, don't replace the engine due to a engine oil burning issue, first check if there are any leaks (although you've suggested that 2 cylinders are under compression this could not be the case), since you've already replaced it with 15W40 there is no thicker oil you could use as well (There's one called Super something that is said to be thicker but I wouldn't put my money as I've never seen it) Take the engine apart and just replace the parts that are worn not an entire engine, also it seems the engine oil isn't burning at an alarming rate as well.
  20. Ngl, the new AutoLanka update has really refreshed this page look to me. Anyone got any snapshots of what it looked like initially? (Not before this update, even before!)

If I miss the old look I'll be off to the UKStarletOwners forum which is a spitting image of this o.0 ?
