The Lowest i use is I have tuned my B210 to run on 650-700 RPM,but it is very difficult to handle it as long as you handle the clutch properly.but you get impressive fuel consumption on low idle depending on better handling of the clutch. harshansenadhir Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Hi all, What is the best Idle RPM value for a car. Patrol 5. 1 500 cc it all depends on the vehicle, make, engine type, what technology manufacturer used all that. It's marked on the RPM meter on some of models but again it's a question whether you can set the engine speed at ideal/best. Specially on carbeurator engines it's a nightmare to set at best and often is a hassle when set at lowest because engine tends to die suddenly in cold running. Also if the engine mounts are weak, you cannot set at best lowest RPM due to excessive shrudder. All in all this is something very hard to generalize and have to sort out case basis. Quote
