  1. I think pit stops are quite interesting actually, cause the car gets slowed down by the weight of the extra fuel but the grip in the new set of tyres can off set that. And team strategies can have a massive effect on the race. About the engine freeze rule. I was against it at the start but Max Mosely's saying that he wants the teams to but the extra funding in to a sort of a Hybrid system which can gain back the energy loses in braking. Which will eventually speed up the development of hybrid systems in road cars as well. And since Toyota is well ahead of the hybrid race, they can kick ass if it comes into F1. I think hybrid is the way forward. Its like having a turbo (with the extra torque from the electric motor) but with a massive increase in the fuel economy as well.

    Tyre Upgrade

Get some Pirelli PZeros. You can't beat them for grip. But they do wear out pretty fast.
  3. Yea I meant the drive-by-wire system. The steering is very precise, but the driver feedback isn't too good. Like you don't get an opposing force back into the steering wheel when you are turning hard.
  4. Hey Dilanrocks, you are member number 3,333. You should try and keep this account this time. But then again, that would be pretty hard.
  5. Agreed with all except for the 'Involvement' bit. The electronic power steering doesn't really give good steering feedback to the driver as the pneaumatic does.
  6. Yea Lewis is the black guy. Everyone's hyping him up at the moment. News from Silverstone is, Toyota is fastest at first free practise session, closely followed by Ferrari.
  7. If you are in UK, take it to any dodgy looking phone shop run by asians and they'll sort it out for a tenner. If you are in Lanka, take it to that mobile phone shop in Liberty Plaza. I think its on the first floor but right at the front of the building. The bit thats got a walkway and you can look down towards Odel on the ground floor. They are quite good I got a K700i unlocked their about couple years ago when it was first out.
  8. Yea its gonna be called Williams-Lexus! I heard Toyota are giving Williams 80 engines for something like $10m, but in return Williams are giving Rosberg to Toyota! That would be wicked! (for Toyota). I rate Rosberg over Kimi and Alonso, he's got Schumi potential. I hate Button man, he's just got a big mouth but can't perform. He's not a bad driver but I don't think he's in the Top 5. Like Honda had such a quick car in the begining of the season, but button couldn't do shit with it. Overdrive, have you heard of this other Brit, Lewis Hamilton might be coming into Mclaren next season. He's caining every one in GP2 currently. He's gonna come in and put Button where he belongs. Pila, I just read about Honda and Toyota threatning to pull out! Thats pretty serious man. But I think the other manufactures need to do the same to change Max Mosley's mind about the engine freeze.
  9. I like the qualifying man, its cool. But first part of Quali 3 is a bit pointless. I think they should shorten it and may be run with only 50% of race fuel instead. I tried to get some tickets to Silverstone but only the grandstand tickets left and cost £200 each! I didn't think that was worth it. I'd rather watch it on TV with replays! I hope Toyota gets a podium finish this race they've doing so shit this season. Pilla, you know Williams might be with Toyota power next season?
  10. I go for 7th Gen, but only because of the EP version.
  11. I'll take a look Machang. It shouldn't bo too hard to find. Will probably be able to get a DVD box set or something. About the cost cutting in F1, almost all the big car manufacturing teams are against it because they use F1 as a marketing tool for demonstrating their capability in technology. But currently it is quite hard for smaller teams to compete in F1. I think the best thing is for the manufactures to break away and form their own series.
  12. Yea, Mosley is too paranoid on safety and cost cutting. I think he's going to ruin F1 with his current plans on engine freeze, single chasis and gearbox rules...etc. Personally I'm more facinated by the technology in F1 rather than the wheel to wheel racing. Pilla, I haven't seen many old F1 videos in stores but I haven't really been looking out for any either. I'm sure I can get hold of some quite easily over the net (Amazon or Ebay). How old are you talking about? 70's, 80's? or older than that?
  13. Machang, the last of the turbo charged F1 cars had a 1.5 litre twin turbo unit and the Cosworth engine had an approx 1000 bhp. But its not that all the engine manufactures decided to suddenly drop the turbos and take the N/A route, they were forced to by the FIA regulations. Just like how the 3 litre V10 engines were dropped down to 2.4 V8's this season. The cars were getting too quick and too dangerous. Even BMW, who previously had stayed away from turbo charging their petrol cars are taking the turbo route, the new 335 coupe is 3 litre twin turbo pushing 306bhp.
  14. Yea there's talk that the Toyota engines will be offered as Lexus, so it could be called Williams-Lexus next year. Which sounds pretty cool! So if Williams end up beating Toyota with their own engines it won't look as bad. Apparantly Toyota are charging Williams peanuts for the engine deal, some thing like only $10 million, but part of the contract is to let Nico Rosberg race for Toyota. That would just be amazing for Toyota!
  15. Even though I drive a Honda I'd have to go for the Turbo, the torque you get from a turbo makes the car so much more drivable than an N/A car. The turbo charging technology has come such a long way now that they can beat the N/A fuel economy, and still have loads more torque as well: Civic Type-R 2 litre VTEC - 197bhp / 31mpg 196NM of Torque Golf Gti 2 litre turbo - 197 bhp / 35mpg 280NM of Torque Sorry guys turbo wins anyday!
  16. Even though there's very little overtaking, I like Monaco. They say its like riding a bicycle around in your living room! And the whole glamour of racing F1 cars in the one way streets of Manoco is just too crazy. Oh and Schumi has been sent to the back of the grid. I can't beleive he went that low to try and beat Alonso to the pole! I think this incident might make him retire this year.
  17. I'm not sure man. It looks like a real incident. But they could have complied it using clips from different races. But one things for sure, the driver definitly does take a good look!

    Six Sigma

I don't really work with 6 sigma but the company I work for implemented it a while ago, and its had a massive impact in the company performance. It basically improved the overall efficiency of the company. If your company's a Engineering/ Manufacturing based one it'll have a very big impact. Its the main reason why the Japanese car companies are doing so well compared to the Americans.
  19. Guys check out this video.
  20. Yea man! Sri Lanka is too crazy! Some second grade ministers ride around in armoured vehicles, when the commander of the army isn't given a bullt proof car!
  21. Yea man, the VZR sounds pretty quick, so i'm sure it'll keep up with the Compressor. But the compressor will be quicker out of the corners because of the extra torque from the supercharger.
  22. Yea man its top speed is something like 140mph. There's only 250 units coming to the UK, so its not going to be widely available if it does kick off. I don't know if there is a JDM version. I found the road test its at: http://www.channel4.com/4car/road-tests/dr...compressor.html This is what they said about the handling: "On paper, the Compressor comes with "sports suspension and uprated springs for extra handling performance": on the road, however, it's hard to notice it doing anything. The gods of understeer and torque steer make themselves known This not-exactly-sporty suspension set-up means that the Compressor suffers from a lot of body roll, which causes the car to pitch and roll when you head into a corner. Any speed you may have carried into the corner is soon lost to the gods of understeer and torque steer, leaving you with a wriggling steering wheel and squealing tyres." So all you need to do is put some stiff suspension in it, and you should be flying around the corners.
  23. Yea man its fast enough to compete with the Type-R, but I've read some reviews on it and apparantly the handling isn't very good. I guess the chasis can't handle the extra power.
  24. Schumi came 11th. I still think he is the best driver out of the lot, but Rosberg does have a lot of potential to become the next Schumacher. Apparantly Ferrari are having some problems with grip from the Bridgeston tyres.
  25. It was good to see Toyota looking strong again. They seem to have pretty much sorted the grip problem. But I still don't think they are strong enough for podium...yet. I think Button's running very light. I wouldn't be suprised if he pits first, I don't rate him that much. My predictions: Alonso, Kimi and Fisi.
