  1. I saw this and one word came to mind CLUSTERF**k
  2. I guess there is a slight similarity with the small opening between hood and the vertical-bump face. The 8 series has the opening going all the way..
  3. 1.NSX 1st gen 2.Toyota 2000gt 3.240z 4.RX7 FD3S 5.supra (3rd gen? late 80s to early 90s) sadly most of the early Japanese beauties were blatant ripoffs of European models
  4. just my opinion but being somewhat of a purist, I think you should try and get the M5 wheels. when you say service, did you just replace the filters etc. as a preventative maintenance or did ur oil light come up? if the lights didn't come up you should be able to run 6-7.5k miles between (recommended oil) services. BMW states way more but most ppl don't wanna take a chance. How much does an inspection cost in SL? (INSP I and II)
  5. this is freaky! I've seen this collection...its near Lexington,KY. I recognized the F40 immediately(its like a good looking woman, u never forget when and where u saw it) the owner is Dr. Jasbir Dhillon. I have more pics of his cars. follow the link below and goto lexington concourse pics. (he is in the last pic with his daughter or wife )his Porsche Carrera GT won in 2006 for future classic.
  6. other than reasons given above, there is a very significant (selfish) reason for males to give blood. from what I've been told by people a whole lot smarter than me; Iron is suspected to increase the chances for a heart attack and the male body has no natural mechanism to get rid of iron thru disposing of blood. Therefore donating blood is a healthy and mutually beneficial way of reducing iron from your blood and maybe living longer (if thats your thing). more reading> hope the effort was a success! I am in colombo now and I have already lost a few pints of blood watching how ppl drive
  7. Ferrari Enzo Ferrari 8/12 FTW
  8. I have seen that very same 8C 2900B Berlinetta in person! (small world huh?). Its in the Collier collection in Naples FL. I guess. This is the reason I didn't list any pre war cars, cos my head actually hurts trying to narrow down to just 3 cars. It cant be done and I wont do something blasphemous like that. alfa pics: note the Scuderia Ferrari alfa
  9. 30s-50s: too many to list 1960s DB4/5 and DB4/5 GT Lambo Miura 350 and 500GT Shelby backup: 67+ Camaro 1970s Ferrari 308 GTB (agree with you) 240Z 3.5CSL 1980s Ferrari F40 280Z 300Z 1990s 300Z C5 Z06 McLaren F1 2000s C6 Z06 E46 M3 E39 M5 You can add the greatest 911 to each gen, seemed a lil redundant to list it over and over. I'll add more as I remember.. GTAm: I have some rare Alfa pics from car shows. I'll try and post em somewhere if ur interested in seeing them..
  10. looks like you have an air leak. Remove the hose coming into pump (fuel tank side) cut off about and inch and reattach with clamp and see if it helps.
  11. I had a similar problem in one of my cars and found out it was the syncros. I am guessing a bent fork would cause trouble in all gear changes and not just 2nd and 3rd.
  12. check the hose clamps and hoses to and from the pump. There can be a small air leak before the pump (diesel is denser than gasoline and when held up against gravity with vacuum, even the smallest air leak can build up enough of an air bubble) that is built up to such a size by sitting overnight that when you fire up in the morning, you mostly have air. When you finally get it to start, it still keeps sputtering as there's still air in the line until you push the fuel thru fast and pushing the air bubbles thru. If your car has a manual pump, pump it a few times in the morning and see if that makes a difference. If it does then you can eliminate the heaters. Get it checked and be careful overheating the heaters (if there is no feedback loop) as you could burn them up and they cost more than a few hose clamps.
  13. u mean the camaro has a working steering wheel? j/k... you should be able to have some fun in the twisties now (or in the spring) with those yellows
  14. they were smart enough not to run it thru turbo if he he had put sugar in the gas tank first, it would've been ok IMO- its some creative writing....hopefully..

    Bmw E46

GTAm: didnt mean to scare ur friend away. I would keep looking for a good unmolested one. There are a few electronic glitches but I would still get one esp if you can source some parts from outside SL. I am sure the stealership will rip you a new one if you take the car to them shying away from a bimmer cos of electronics is like <analogy here> kicking uma thurman out of bed cos she has big feet

    Bmw E46

The big concern (esp on rough roads) is the notorious e46 chassis crack. search bimmerforums and you'll find tons of resources and what to look for. There are youtube vids showing the crack expanding when suspension loads only other thing I can think of (from e39 2.8 experience) is the cooling system. Most e46 and other bimmers of that era are know for the "exploding" fans in hot climates. The blades of the fan are brittle and if stressed (during maintenance or repairs) can result in shattering under centrifugal force. You can remove the fan cover and inspect the blades, hoses and also the coolant reservoir. If you do buy the car, have the pulleys and tensioner checked .A buddy of mine lost hoses, oil lines etc. due to belts coming loose. Other than that...its a solid car! Good Luck!

    Ab Workout

despite the keg comment, I try to stay healthy as much as I can as car nuts, you guys (and gals) are well versed in performance, energy and pure logic. Just apply the same to your bodies. energy: what goes in stays in unless you get it out. A person's energy requirement can vary depending on their lifestyle and work. Figure out what you need to keep yours running (around 2000 cals for most) your body is not trying to look good (or healthy for that matter), its' simply trying to survive in the moment (few days). If you take a few large meals a day then your metabolism slows down cos its worried it wont have energy in case it needs it, so it starts to save it all in storage. The result is your body becomes endomorphic where it stores every lil thing you eat. If you simply try to work out while your eating remains the same, then your body goes into panic mode. Your body goes; Oh crap! this fools spending my savings, better start saving some more. thats the reason why a lot of endomorphic ppl dont see quick results in the beginning. While there are many drugs that can increase your metabolism, its safer and long lasting to do it the natural way. Tell your body, it can chill out about trying to save every lil thing you eat. Start eating about 6 SMALL meals a day. Have a big breakfast and maybe lunch and NO heavy meals within 4 hours of going to bed (to sleep). start with cardio as it can potentially save your life! but if you wanna loose weight, you can speed up the process by lifting weights. With resistance training, you create small tears in your muscles that have to repair (usually in 18-36hrs) and it takes energy to repair them. so, while the cardio and lifting burnt the energy at the gym, the muscle repair keeps burning energy on your off-day as well. If you're just starting out, do what you like (biceps, chest) so you can stay motivated. Eventually, mix them in with things you don't like (abs, legs). Be realistic about your limits and goals. You can't go from chugging down 40 string-hoppers for dinner to a salad and your fat will not melt away as you watch. Most of us are on our OEM parts and are coming up or slightly pass the 30Yr maintenance program. Its time to start taking better care of the equipment so it can keep running for another 30-40yrs. sorry about the long post

    Ab Workout

six packs are for lil boys, real men have kegs be weary of spending money on any single machine/workout as your body will adjust and plateau. Do what ripper said, mix it up and live it!

Driving In The Us Of A

chris is right, check with the state's dmv site for any amendments/exclusions to how long you can drive with the SLDL. There was a time (1998) when I walked into the dmv in a southern state and showed my SLDL and said I needed to get the state's DL and they just gave it over the counter, but those days are long gone.. IMHO, ur better off getting an intlDL if you want to avoid the hassle of explaining urself (esp if ur going to a smaller city). Plus I'd rather take my DL to a club/bar than risk loosing my passport (it has happened to ppl I know). also madmax: thankfully AA membership in the US is free!
  23. 2 V8s (W16) with 4 turbo chargers might have something to do with it
  24. also, the murc and enzo have very sleek downward noses where the veyron looks all blown up, plus its tall and heavy. It looks like a 1001hp car when you look at it, it just oozes power...
  25. I bought a 9600 in 04 for $85+about 15 s&h, you'll have to deprecate for time, adjust for new features and compare
