Economy is not a strength of the 3L engine Our owners drive auto boxes till they are nearly dead and then change ATF if you're looking for economy, well look elsewhere.( duel a/c on full and a 2 tonne van with a slush box will never be as efficient as a Starlet. There's no way to "" check the gear box " what can you expect after 300K of hard use? You can get a general idea by looking at the ATF ( Color , Level etccherry red and no burnt smell.) and driving it and seeing if the gears change The model you're refering to is the full time 4WD. model. and there is a selectable 4WD model and the 2WD which is sort after;

KE72 high engine noise and engine slowing down
Twin Turbo replied to UNIX's question in Mechanical problems
The fan clutch when locked also causes the engine to sound like a jet engine.it's common practice in SL to keep the engine temp under control. And get the tappets adjusted. -

Toyota recommends extended reach spark plugs for your engine. You can find them at the local dealer. and the PKW Toyota copy experts , MM Or2 And for best results, replace with new plug leads. -
KE72 high engine noise and engine slowing down
Twin Turbo replied to UNIX's question in Mechanical problems
Hello and welcome to AL. The Toyota K series engine should be good more miles and smiles. Just take good care of it and it'll run till the next millennium. As for your noise, I suspect your A/c compressor is making the noise.Just open the bonnet, start the engine,.. and turn on the a/c. You'll find the thing on the driver's si towards the front. Get your engine checked up just for safety's sake. And use a thicker engine oil from next service The serviceability of an engine can be mechanically tested and should be professionally done by a technically qualified person. why not upload a vid?it'll give us a better idea,.. Good luck,.! -

You're not driving the Star-ship Enterprise. Any battery will do,. the conventional or "wet" will be cheaper and the only problem will be failing to top up the thing which make it fail prematurely Cheers!.

Light bulb moment! why not replace the wire with a piece of he4ating element from a hot plate,..? As I figure, you just need a glow wire to show you the glow plugs are hot.

Suggest building a time mechiene and going back in time.35 byears. Or, get a new sensor and meter wired in, (Are you running 24v?)

Alfa Romeo 155 - what a potential owner should know
Twin Turbo replied to vishwa.j's question in Car Buying Information
The alfa 155, nice looking car. But that's everything good about it. The guy who had the dealership ran away, and was never seen again. that was the end of the brand in SL.- Now there re lots of places who specialise in EU cars.Hope they know their stuff. The engine has a timing belt - proper replacement of kit essential. As for parts, there were stockists,.. but may have moved on by now. Internet sellers best bet. you've answered most of the key questions yourself. I wouldn't buy one as a daily driver. If efficiency & reliability are important., Buy a Corolla p.s I loved the 155 so much that I bought a 1:18 scale model in red ! -
Need advice on Mitsubishi Pajero Engine
Twin Turbo replied to Akuila Nasilivata's topic in MITSUBISHI
You'll be seriously going back both in technology and power . -
Refering to the beemer agent in SL in particular, I know from from friends that every so often the dealer gets cock-ups from outside so-called specialists

How sure are you of the fuel which actually went in the tank Vs the amount shown in the meter? fill up from another fuel station .
-
The other fluids even though comparable with CVT's requirements, may lead to probs due to their formulation. The Genuine Nissan CVT fluid is colored olive green.
-
Yes there are places working on Beemers but would you trust your car with them?
-
Good car, it has so much power it'll easily cruse at 200km/h all day! As for economy, if you 're thinking about it, don't buy one. Maintenance, I cannot recommend an independent place other than the agent. they recommend a service/inspection every 10.000km or one year. Common issues, lack of maintenance/abuse+rough roads kill them. The engines have been known to turn the engine oil into Marmite.(sludge)

Depends on the product.Carefully read the instructions on the label. And use only de mineralised water to mix with the coolant.

Could do with some 80W90 oil in the 'Box

Nissan X-Trail FrontWD Or 4WD & Fuel Consumption ?
Twin Turbo replied to gayankap's question in Car Buying Information
Even if you get the 4wd model, will be fwd when in 2wd mode.itwill make a minimal difference to efficiency.ok whenyou need all wheel drive? It's better to have it and not use it than need it and not have it. After all, your buying a suv. if you want pure efficiency, get a car. -
Cheers bro! TT.
