  1. English is important!
  2. We'll be seeing KRK 'kits' on them very soon!
  3. Nice tail lamp. Don't use rubbing compound though, look for polishes made for plastics. I read somewhere that rubbing compound is good for painted surfaces only. Also if you (like me) hate to see faded amber lenses, look for two-part lacquer paint. Be careful when you're applying it though; too much thinner and it'll melt that gorgeous lens! I didn't spray my lenses with the two-part stuff though, I couldn't find any locally and I was impatient to see it on the car! I used the usual TOA lacquer clear on mine (two coats each).
  4. Hmm...I don't know where Pelwatte is but I'm game!
  5. My latest fondness- 1600 GSR.
  6. Driving purely by skill is indeed dying, VVTi! Cars are becoming more computers than mechanical masterpieces. Maybe they'll replace the traditional steering wheel with a gamepad or something in the near future! Also, OP- you don't need sensors or reverse cameras. Practice makes perfect!
  7. Hmmm...I'm keen on seeing this new tinkerer's work as well.
  8. Speaking of which, one BA Concorde made a visit in the mid or late '90s to Katunayake. That was the only time it came to Sri Lanka sadly.
  9. Guy on left corner is VERY happy it's happening in Sri Lanka!
  10. Thanks for that bit of info. My CE106V is an auto and there's no tachometer so we're being very gentle with the accelerator pedal! I'm approaching 1,500kms in about two weeks' time.
  11. Congratulations! My mechanic advised me to limit the speed to >40km/h for the first 1000 or so kms and not to stress the engine. Mine is an Automatic so I was told to accelerate very gently as well.
  12. LOLOLOLOL!
  13. Look at all those fender mirrors! I want to back in time! Waaaaaaaaaahh!
  14. Correct again! I had the two names mixed up. Also, the logo on the Toyoda is gorgeous!
  15. Flawless! To those not in the know-This means TO-YO-DA in Katakana. It uses seven (or was it eight?) strokes in Katakana and since that number was considered unlucky, the name was changed to ToyoTA where it used additional strokes.
  16. A levin (fixed lamps) AE85 was sold for about 750,000 sometime back. Of course, the seller may have added extra thousands to the sale price, just to show how rare it was!
  17. Now that's an idea! How do I go about 'befriending' one?
  18. That's a US 510, isn't it?
  19. There's a beautifully mint, white LH60 on standard steel wheels similar to the second Peach coloured van on the first catalog near my house. Ironically the owner has installed seats so he's not using it for it's intended purpose! I'll snap some photos when I see it again. I also like the circular lamps-front than the more common rectangular setup.
  20. Yes I do! (vehicles and aeroplanes, of course!) But I'd love to have a Japanese lady friend too! I should learn Japanese and go there...to hunt for vintage car parts @komi, would you say no to this- I wouldn't!
  21. Rocketman? He's pilot-boy now (cause the moon and space are too mainstream...Heck, even India's blasting rockets to space now!). I heard he's getting his private pilot's license at uncle Saj...'s flying school!
  22. LH60s are baaaaad! Lovely.
  23. Knowing Sri Lanka, they'll be gone the next morning!
  24. Very philosophical!
