if you found the youtube link...you can message the guy. he was quite helpful... at least when i mailed him a few years back. Or...you can take the car to Sacha.... He can turbocharge almost any efi car...

youtube 5a-fe. there was a guy from grenada who had done it and had all the details on a dedicated blog/site was thinking of the same idea when i had a sprinter few years ago

retract you mean anyways...chances are somebody would've forced retracted the mirrors and it went out of sync. most cars have a BCM controlling retracting mirrors... not sure during interior cleaning if some wiring in that unit got loose or something. I would take the car to ruwan (rexxton motors, darley road near the fire brigade) and get him to check it for you. Had a similar issue in my corolla sometime back and this chap sorted it out fast... very reasonable rates too

yep...return valve is malfunctioning making the filter run dry.... most shops these days have a malaysian/thaiwan made handpumps for sale for around 2k. easy fix.

Good stuff Davy. The hardest part is documenting the process while getting these things done. And you've done a brilliant job of it. keep it up and as always...great to see more and more diy threads on AL

Mods and Madz, Wouldn't it be a better idea to maybe get in touch with the most frequent AL contributors and see what can be done to improve the forum rather than opening it out to everybody? Although the intent is pure, sometimes democracy isn't the best way. Maybe you guys should set a few rules and setup some system to manage things without opening it up for a debate. People who follow the new rules will hang on and the others can move on. And personally, and i admit i'm biased...if "bad attitude" noobs, posers and "ill informed" experts with outdated info an be tackled...most of these fights wont even happen. @MD at that rate...i'm not returning COD MW3 to you jeez dude!!! chill! Don isn't the a.wipe you seem to think he is P -

not to side up with any party... but the "complainers", finger pointers almost always are the people who contribute the least to the forum. We were all noobs at one point. We learned the ways of AL and fitted in. Don't see why others can't do the same without whining all the time... -
COD series but i've played it on consoles. PC must be better. Also prefer gears series, halo series and now killzone, resistance and battlefield

MD might be having a good chuckle yanking Don's chain for all i know He's quite capable of that And yeah...i to agree with Supra... "The Don" has been a great contributor for a long time. In fact i expected him to be raised to a Mod a lot sooner. But i do agree with MD's sentiments too... about the points MD and Dilesh made about why some "seniors" are made to fight for what's factually correct when some people try to BS a lot here. That too the few "posers" we have here. Unfortunately, post count has no connection to accuracy or knowledge of people cos there are quite a few "posers" who have high post counts and also "well respected" by some people for their excellent googling skills! I don't see a perfect solution but it's good to see many people making an effort to make some progress. -

Car 12V Cig Lighter Fuse Blows, Pls Help To Identify The Issue
Ripper replied to Aravinda_2011's question in Mechanical problems
a GPS unit charger shouldn't be needing so much of power. there must be something wrong with the charger unit... 15A fuse at 12v is capable of handling 180watts of of power -
yep. i think my XR has them etched on...can't remember seeing it on the truck though. But i usually keep a very close eye on the bike disc thickness for obvious reasons
-
I find that extremely hard to believe. Break discs have a recommended minimal thickness to them. until that point is reached, it's perfectly safe to let it wear down with regular use or resurface as necessary. Mind you resurfacing is not necessary unless there is uneven wear on the surface. Checkout almost any factory repair manual and you can see these minimal thickness values for rotors

thanks mate!

Is It Possible Convert Nissan 2Wd Cab To 4Wd
Ripper replied to Pramuditha.d's question in Mechanical problems
I think you should be able to lift the body up and use larger wheels. This way, you don't need to worry too much about tyres hitting the wheel arches or the bumpers. If slipping is an issue, one thing is the type and condition of your tyres... I have a ford 4x4....hardly use the 4x4 but use the low range in 2wd somewhat often. Can get out of situs with less stress on the clutch by switching to low range. But as most folks have said...converting a 2wd to 4wd might not be worth the hassle considering all the things you need to mod/change etc. And it's not like the vehicle in concern is a rare model that you can't find in a 4x4 version in. In anycase, why not take the truck to a place like outdoorsman or even bruce motorsports and see what they can do to improve ground clearance and "offroadability" -
Hey Thanks Supra! Thanks machang! Heh heh...thanks machang! Making a work table for the garage these days... to mount a bench vise, drill press and a grinder. Once that's done and i get me hands on a welder, it'll be a whole new world of possibilities Thanks Darin! Thanks Madz! Thanks Buddy! btw, might do a troll sometime this month if the weather settles. You're welcome to join Free beer on the house but you gotta be able to handle the heat

What Is The Similar Engine Control For Toyota 89661 - 2D280 (Ect 5A-Fe)
Ripper replied to aakalpa's question in Electrical problems
have you tried delkanda area breaker shops? they have ecu by the boxload. as long as the ECU is for a 5A-fe Auto, it should work for you irrespective of the car model. As nexus says, 5A-fe motor is available on both the 100 and the 110, 1500cc motors... just make sure the ECU is for an auto car- 4 replies
