  1. What I meant by "noise suppression" was electrical noise suppression i.e. humming and other interference from the vehicle's electrics.
  2. Buy a used copy on ebay.
  3. Unfortunately no, its the first gen shitty version with square connector.
  4. I burnt mine back in the states, bought a cheapo ebay one in early 2009, no issues with it so far. Of course, ymmv.
  5. How do you define not powerful? I always set the temp on the coldest, but fan speed on minimum and thats good for me on most days except the sunniest. Sometimes in the evening I actually turn the temperature up a little because things are too chilly. I'm also known as the Polar Bear (hima walaha) in my office because I really like the cold. So yeah, the A/C in the Vios is more than capable of even keeping me cool. I did however get the A/C serviced right after I bought the car. They cleaned the filter and removed some scraps of paper from the ducting.
  6. Heh, keeping up with the Pereras and De Sarams more like it (no offence to any Pereras or De Sarams on the forum).
  7. Canon SX260HS in hand. I'm really liking this little guy.

  8. Care to share plans? I believe I can use that as a dicky sub enclosure without getting in the way of my planes when I'm moving them. And how have you handled noise suppression? And not to knock your truck, but what about the bass resonance that is natural to diesels? Does that interfere with the sound output (i.e. self cancellation at certain frequencies)?
  9. No idea if this model came with such, but in this instance I believe a properly equipped car would indeed have deployed its airbags. The impact had to have been substantial to cause that much damage, no doubt beyond the force required to trigger the air bag sensor. In my car I can see the sensors on either side of the engine bay, slightly ahead of the engine itself. Therefore if my car crashed in a similar manner I'm 100% positive the bags would've deployed. Now if they would have been of any use is another matter entirely.
  10. The entire front clip has actually folded underneath the car, If you look at the 6th photo from the top. Probably got airborne and hit the ground at a steep rake.
  11. Good god. I really don't understand how people can invest so much money in something they are clueless about. I dunno if it's just me, but if I know nothing about something I'm going to potentially spend millions on, I research it to death before making a commitment.
  12. I'd recommend either 406 or Cefiro out of those 3. The CS1 is vastly underpowered and really not in the same league as the other two. But of course it will be the newer, and the more fuel efficient of the bunch.
  13. I should've been clearer; like the others said, I was referring to low beams, not high beams.
  14. I wonder if its our CB3 friend who was cussing us all in two other threads.
  15. This is my mantra of night driving during a downpour. Switch on your wipers. I've seen SO many people who simply don't think about using them. You manhood won't be affected by regular use of the wipers. Also keep the wiper washer bottle topped up regularly. Switch on your lights, including your fogs, if independently operated switch on the rear ones at least. This is more for the benefit of making yourself visible to traffic rather than improving your own visibility of the road. Your mirrors will mostly be useless and there won't be any point in rolling down the window and cleaning the right hand mirror. Avoid overtaking, but if you do have to, maybe to overtake a stopped vehicle, don't make any sudden maneuvers; assume that all other vehicles around you can't see even half as much as you, so give them plenty of room. Be especially careful at junctions with no street lights when making turns, since windows and mirrors will be useless. Push bikes and pedestrians will be all but invisible, although they assume we being in a car have telescopic night vision. And there will always be the odd motorbike with no lights (and usually no brakes) as well. If it's really heavy rain, to the point you cant make out the difference between the road and the gutter, I usually follow the vehicle in front of me allowing for a generous gap between us.
  16. Insurance ne. Plus I bet Lambo probably had something to do with it, kind of like the Fezza Italias catching fire due to wonky glue used to hold things together. If so, he'll probably get a new car from Lambo without ever having to make a claim.
  17. I don't understand... are you jealous their car is faster (and incidentally better in every way) than your Prius? Otherwise I don't see why your or anyone else would care.
  18. Didn't know the slims faced these issues as well. Keep us apprised of how things go, it'll be informative to know what went wrong with it.
  19. Certainly makes me feel superior about mine. Also this thread was created with the idea of keeping all the one-off and miscellaneous posts which are not queries/topics requiring replies/debate contained in one place.
  20. Wish I had the money (and the looks) to pull something like this off. http://jalopnik.com/5902057/
  21. I'm watching Gulliver's Travels with Jack Black, and while I love both entities individually, there is no reason anyone had any business combining the two. Pure asshattery made of a brilliant classic.

  22. Not sure, but I believe the accusations are based on the fact that the OP states a modified starlet as his ride in his profile, while the owner of the youtube video above has uploaded a video of a suspiciously similar starlet.
  23. I believe the tire issue is common to all cars this season, if the condition of today's track was anything go by. Alonso nearly bought it when he wide on a straight because he drove on bits of tire that was littering the track. It wasn't anything like this last year when Hami won.
