Small but important update: The insurance guy (Continental) told me that mine was the 18th claim for a stolen Vios mirror this month.

Yeah I too haven't come across any branded units with an analog tv tuner. You can find some JDM models with a DVB tuner, but those are useless.

I miss the hybrid debates

Considering how under-powered it is, I would say 11-12 is pretty good, when you considering the fact you really have to tweak the pedal to keep up with traffic. The people who claim 14-15 are probably those who hog the center lane of the Baseline and Kotte road while doing 35-40km/h, and who take forever to pick up speed once they stop in traffic allowing everyone in the other lanes to get in ahead of them. Sorry for the slight rant.. but yeah.

Of course there are original visors for these cars. They're optional (or stolen) which is why you don't see them on every Vios. I can take a look tomorrow, as I'm going to check up on a 2006 front bumper and light kit.

How? You would have to drive 841,499kms in reverse to to reach that distance, at which the car would have been driven over a million kms Besides, since it's a digital ODO, the entire concept is moot anyway (not to mention downright silly). Digital ODOs only count up, even in reverse. An electric pulse has no direction.

Well I managed to get everything sorted out today. Police report required the car to be finger printed, which apparently is optional but I didn't know it at the time. Then 500/- later, was shopping in Delkanda hoping it wouldn't rain. The fifth shop didn't only have the cheapest price, they also had a unit in the correct colour. Not wanting push my luck any further, I got it tested and fitted for 9.5K in total. All in all, I think the higher powers wanted me to realize that I can't treat my car like the way I did my van, and let me have a taste of the consequences. Thank you for the support you guys offered me, it really means a lot.

Great pics MiniAce. I too have come across D*MO battas on the highway, but first time I've seen a Mahindra batta, no less a broken one. Looks like they suck even more than the battas? I mean those trucks are fairly new, at _most_ a year old.

No body damage, I think they used something with a rubber insulation (conscientious thieves??) as there's material transfer, no actual scratches though. The goop should come off with some surgical spirit, but I've been spending the entire day feeling depressed and re-watching BSG.

Ah ok, thats where I stood all night. SOOO much better than the stupid V*P areas, but you're right there were a ton of idiots there, standing on the sandbags. I did have to stand on them myself a few times because I couldn't get a clear shot. The police didn't much at all to keep spectators back, even the marshals were fed up. The climax for me was when the orange raging bull pulled up quite literally in front of me to join the queue back into the service area.

Was this after 4am? I was there when people crossed the roads at the roundabout right as the cars were coming, but don't remember seeing any casualties.

When I returned from the races to my car (around 4:30am), to my dismay I found the left door mirror missing. And to add insult to injury, they had _broken_ off the mount instead of merely undoing the three screws from the bottom. So my question is, can anyone suggest where I can get both the mirror and the mount for a 2003-2005 Toyota Vios? Everything in the picture.

For some reason I was under the impression there was going to be a Diablo GT present _apart_ from the Gallardos. I only caught a fleeting glimpse of it as it passed me, and figured that was it.

Any updates with regard to parking? Last night there was ample parking on the grassy knoll.
